  1. anyone know about the pipe?
  2. not sure if the turbo ones are any different but one of my coil packs has lost its spring/coil so i need another one asap. if anyone has a stock one for sale please PM me with a price, thankyou.
  3. do you have any coil packs left? i urgently need one in good working order. PM me with a price if you can pls.
  4. ok.. . i took the coils and plugs out today, also removed the intake etc - no water whatsoever anywhere that i could see. however i did notice that spark plug number 5 seemed to have some white powder (like you get on battery terminals) on the end that connects to the coil so i thought i'd just clean that of with a bit of steel wool and it should be ok. cleaned it up and then checked my coils, found that coil number five's spring or coil is no more! it has somehow corroded to nothing, so i guess its been running on 5 cylinders the past couple of days. fingers crossed oonce i replace it all should be well again. i called Nissan and was quoted $275 for a single replacement coil!? don't suppose anyone has upgraded to splitfires and has any old coils in working order lying around? for an RB25DE one final thing, while i was pulling all the pipes off that are in the way of the rocker cover i think i have disconnected one accidently and do not know where it goes to. next to the radiator on the right is a small cylinder with 3 pipes coming out of the top, one feeds back into itself halfway down, another runs across the engine and into the intake plenum, the one i am unsure about is attached to the previous pipe and is marked 'purge' at the cylinder. it has a clip on the end so i assume it connects to something else and doesn't just 'purge' into the engine bay? thanks to all again for the advice. ben
  5. yeh i'll go pick up some tools tonight and check everything in the morning - intake, pod, coil packs, plugs etc thanks guys. next time it rains i might have to mock up some kind of 4WD snorkel heh
  6. thanks for the info. much appreciated.
  7. k, cheers. any idea what tools i'll need, guess i should search for the diy threads nice car btw.
  8. checked my engine bay at lunch, was all dry. started it up and it idled rough again, let it sit for a few minutes and it returned to normal, drove it like that for about 5-10 mins and then it started running rough again. am thinking that the air pod may be wet and sucking in moist air.
  9. possible yes but i bloody well hope not, it's an Apexi type and i don't think it would have sucked much in there but unsure. if it has then thats really bad right? i was doing about 80 at the time on a highway and the lights were out and one whole lane was flooded and it sprayed up and over the car. its happened before but never affected my engine. might have a bash at water proofing the engine bay too, thanks |PRESA| might have to check the coils etc when i get home tonight. cheers guys.. yesterday was just a bad day all up.
  10. Before anyone laughs no i didn't go washing my engine with a hose or anything I was driving home last night from my gf's and took the back streets, it was raining very heavily and the streets pretty much flash flooded. i drove through a couple of large puddles and about halfway home my car started running rough (sounds more like WRX than usual). when i got home i popped the hood and checked out the engine bay - i had a small puddle under my pod filter but not touching and my radiator was wet but apart from that i couldn't find any other signs of water in there. i know if you get water in your plugs or coil packs your car will run rough but going by the location of the water i don't see how they could get wet. any thoughts on what else could make it run rough like this and if i should just let it dry out through driving etc or take it to a mechanic and get them to check everything out? its an RB25DE R33. cheers.
  11. happy birthday Sneeza i considered giving you my rims as a present but then came to my senses. have a good day
  12. i'm still trying to find somewhere that will make me a dash etc from aluminium used to be 'morpheus alloys' over in NSW but can't find any way to contact them anymore.
  13. and how much does your brother charge ..? :headspin:
  14. i know this isn't the For Sale thread but i haven't had much luck and thought this would be the best place to ask around. Had my R33 serviced a while ago and somehow my AFM was swapped for a turbo AFM, i didn't notice at the time as the ECU manages everything so i don't need the AFM to be connected for the car to run. i do however have an annoying issue with the running of my car and to get it diagnosed correctly i need to get hold of an AFM for an RB25DE R33. if anyone has was spare to sell or swap etc please PM me cheers
  15. mmm candy carbons, cheers for that site Pulp
  16. R33 Bootlid? YES PLEASE :lock:
  17. if i can get my hands on an NA AFM that fits my car correctly then i won't have need of the one currently on mine so yep
  18. Hi after a dubious service i have misplaced my NA AFM and somehow replaced it with a turbo AFM from a GTS-t. would like to purchase a replacement so that i can get my car serviced properly. cheers. PM me if you have one available
  19. i really wouldn't mind one of those V35s in my garage, nice grey one :aroused:
  20. i need an AFM for my NA R33, don't suppose you have one of those?
  21. don't bend over for one, if you back down and accept everything then it becomes totalitarianism! come on Kym, do it for the ladies
  22. you using copic markers for that? i've been working on some stuff in freehand... comes up quite well but takes a while, thinking of doing pics of peoples cars/requests etc. can look very professional, bit like concept artwork for cars etc anyhoo, looks good colours are a bit murky though, that may just be the scanning. if you are using copic or similar ink markers, and if you haven't already, don't be afraid to pull them apart and use them as brushes, come up much smoother
  23. hmm cheers impul, yes seems to be a bit of bullying going on and i lose respect for these 'police' daily... after my family saw my yellow sticker my stepfather (who is one of those council crusader types hehe) ended up calling the police stations to find out why they were allowed to check my tint at night when nobody could get the same reading - i saw a reading of 1000, the female cops saw 75 and the male cop told me it was 14.5... quite a difference. my tint has been ripped off now and i was informed by the senior constable my stepfahter spoke with that there is no record whatsoever of them giving me a defect notice. i'm not sure how the cops these days are on their paperwork but i begin to suspect a lot of these stickers that are given out in these incorrect circumstances may not be processed officially, of course we wouldn't know and would still pay out our time and money for the hassle of 'complying' our vehicles... *not happy jan*
  24. well just got the tint removed, looks crap now feel... so ... exposed hehe the tint a car guy told me they aren't allowed to check tint at night (i was checked at 11.50pm) and that i could have refused the yellow, no doubt they would have tried something else to get me for. he also told me that my pod filter is not legal without a heat shield??? it is an Apexi type, braced to the chassis with the correct bracket. can anyone clarify? can i just get a permit for it when it goes over the pits?
  25. yeh mine didn't say full inspection, just says "tint should be legal, currently 14.5 should be 35" cheers guys.
