  16. yeah that's what I think ... 30 grand is a lot to roll dice on for me at any stage ... I guess the extra 10k I pay to someone like powerplay is for all the hassle they go to on my behalf, they do everything for me I just sit back and watch and read about it on email, plus the safety and peace of mind that if the car turns up and it's a lemon, I have a contract saying that they didn't deliver on the agreed product and I get my money back. So in a sense, it's in their best interest that for the extra coins, they get a good car. Well ... I will be going wiht a series II R33 then. that dark gunmetal colour hopefully. I will keep you all posted. Now that I have made the decision, I am getting pretty excited deep down.
  17. I have ... but I haven't found anything as yet. And all the R34's advertised privately are selling for close to 40k ... far from the approximated 30-33k I was told for the private import.
  18. Hi, I am looking for: * Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T * Manual Transmission * Minimum or no modifications (light mods are okay) * Year model: 1998 and above * KMs: 60,000 Kilometers or less * Colour: Dark Silver (Pewter), Silver (Quartz), White (in that order) * No accidents (no body resprays, panel replacements etc) * Grade 4 exterior or above * Grade A or B interior (no cigarette burns or permanent damage which can not be fixed after a detail and clean) Service / ownership history to prove servicing of car by previous owner (if already in Australian) If you are selling one, or know someone who is, please let me know by sending me the details of the car, plus any pictures you may have of the inside, outside, and engine bay. Thanks! :wavey: *edit*: Made my specifications more specific and clear. Hope one of you can help me out.
  19. Thanks Duncan. I guess I am a bit nervous about which way to go (to some, this would be understandable). Deep down, I really want a R34 GT-T, but I can't afford to pay $40k for one (even though I get the assurance and safety of going through someone like powerplay). I am trying to decide if I am confident / comfortable enough to go with Prestigemotorsport, which is a totally different process and different level of risk. The benefit it of course, I can potentially end up with the same car for $10k less, but how do I really know if the car is okay? Powerplay offers the condition that if the car has been misrepresented, they will refund your deposits. So it safer. But if the personal import gets here and theres 1001 things wrong, I am pretty much stuffed. I know exactly what I want as far as the car is concerned. I am also happy to be patient to be later rewarded But what do you mean by 'fix problems'? I just can't decide which road to take.
  20. A followup question guys ... still deciding which way to go: a) go to someone like Powerplay Imports, who seem to have a good reputation (not sure, anyone buy from them? what's your experience like?? I feel better because I am told that if the car turns up and it's not what was discussed, I get my deposit back. B) anyone every deal with Edward Lee on Parramatta road? what's your experience been like? B) go to someone Prestige motorsport. Sure, I save a good amount of money, but there's a lot more risk. I know a lot of people have bought cars though him. Has everything always turned out ok? For a newbie like me... what do you recommend? I have the money but I am ... I guess still afraid / unsure about forking over a wad of cash without knowing more about the two above people?
  21. I PMed you so I can get your number to speak to you about the car. No response as yet
  22. it's a shame you are in Adelaide, I can't get time off work to come see the car and buy. This is what I am looking for good luck with the sale regardless.
