Through work we have always used a place called lee brothers at albion...in the same street phils rotarys used to be in. Always been quite happy with there work...probs worth a quote even.

i was going to get it rebuilt and modded but then started to think about selling and then this happened and was undrivable so now am getting another rb20 put in and will decide what to do. probs move on.

Hey all Just wondering if anyone has ever had a rb20det replaced in there car? If so how much did it cost you, where did you get it done and were you happy with the work. Brisbane only though. Thanx

hey all im not sure if my timing has maybe skipped a tooth or something as my motor seems like it is only running on a few cylinders or something and runnning like a bucket. now what i wanted to know is if it had skipped a tooth or something then would i have damaged valves as well?? or do i just have to get the timing right...if that is the problem

how come you's only tested at 3200rpm? when my mate got done the other week the coppers made him hold it at 4500rpm and then they take a db reading.

I have come across a turbo off of an rb25 for the right price. Now what i need to know is...is this something i would be able to install myself? Is it a direct bolt onto a r32 rb20det if not can i buy what i need or do i just have to take the car to someone? p.s. i have been told this is a great upgrade for these motors??? All help would be greatly appreciated thanx

so by that do u mean the distance springwood is away from brisbane is how far i am gonna drive away from springwood or is it how far springwood is from brisbane is the distance i will have to drive home?

hey can u give us a bit more info of the happenings like in which direction you will all be travelling in etc and how far just coming from northside wanna know where sorta end up and how long will take to get home due to work in the morning. just a little bit more info would be appreciated. if you dont wanna post it in here just pm me as me and some other cars may come along thanx Jason

hey i have done a search and found alot of good things being said about this turbo for the rb20. I am looking at upgrading in the near future to possibly one of these...but the thing i havn't been able to find are where abouts i should start looking for one of these...rough prices new and second hand...and how much somewhere would rougly charge me to have this fitted to my car. All help appreciated I am in brisbane thanx

i have just done a fair bit of work on my r32 gtst eg had head off etc and there is just one thing i am not sure of...there is some wires that comes out of the bottom right of the radiator and go up to a connector on the side of the radiator. Just a 2 wire connector...now i had to rewire this connector due to it being corroded and i broke a little terminal so had to track down a new one and now sure if i have wired it right or back the front. So what i am trying to find out is what exactly this connector does so that i can check if it is working or i have got the wires back the front. thanx for any input Jason

hey guys i have just had my head off my rb20det due to it leaking and had it machined etc and put new gaskets and things on. but at the time of removing it the puller we had did not fit to take the bottom pulley off to see the timing marks. It kept hitting on the condensor. Therefore we zip tied the timing belt to the cam pulley so that it would stay in the same spot. not thinking at the time that when we get the head back that they would have moved the cams to tdc. So now i cant line the cam gear up and the crank isnt on tdc. So i need a puller of some sort to get the bottom pulleys off so i can see the timing marks. i have tried a screw driver on either side to try and work it loose with no luck. If anyone has a puller i can borrow just to get the pulley off as i am on holidays and need my car back. Otherwise you can remove it for me if you are willing to come out here. All help appreciated or advice on doing this any other way or if i can do it without taking pulleys off. Help me out please all and i wont forget it i am on the northside of brisbane thanx Jason

am in desperate needs of some manifold studs for my r32 it is an rb20det and need a few studs from the head to the exhaust manifold. unfortunately a few broke on removal and nissan no longer make these am on the northside and need by saturday so i can put the head back on my car please help thanx jason

nah its definetly not a rocker cover i have already done those...and have inspected it a couple of times after hosing down on hoist at work. Repco quoted i think it was 410 for the kit but have found a place in sydney that will do the vrs kit for 285 it think plus delivery Now i am reading all about the rb25's with metal head gaskets and stuff and others than have done them to an rb20 and wondering if you can explain further so i understand why i shouldnt do it...next mods being bigger turbo and aftermarket ecu as i have a few mods already and am looking to gets some hp out of her in the near future. cheers

I am wondering if anyone has bought a vrs kit for the rb20det in brisbane from anyone besides nissan and repco and ontop of that was considering putting in a metal head gasket while i have the head off...and wondering where guys have got these from in the past what size and how much? Also will be sending my head to the machine shop to be skimmed and have my valves reseated if ok...and am wondering what advice people have as to what else i should ask them to do while they have my head but knowing that i am on a tight budget. Need help and parts urgently and so all advice and helping me get what i need would be muchly appreciated as at the moment am sorta without a car thanx Jason
