  1. Alright well i'm heading to mt gambier for a few weeks so ill order all the parts and then let you know! Another mate of mine said he will give me a hand too so this might be easier than expected, who need nissan ripping you off! Haha a few cases seems like a fair trade to me!
  2. Yeh that'd be great mate! I managed to take my door apart and change the window motor on it but i dunno if i trust myself to do the brakes without help! So gsl responded with a much better price! Is it worth giving it a flush? Will i need anything other than what he has quoted me below?
  3. Thanks! Yeh im getting a few quotes from other people for parts, 2500 is ridiculous! I think i'm gonna respray the plastic arm wrest covers just not sure what the silver colour is, i might just respray both in the silver I find. Then i just have to search for a new wiper arm!
  4. Hey guys, Just got my 120k major service (v35 coupe 03') and all is good except it needs new front and rear rotors. Main North Nissan in Adelaide gave me this quote to get it done: http://i.imgur.com/M6tc8.jpg Plus 250 labour Is this reasonable? Seems kinda over priced but i could be wrong. Also are there any other compatible options? http://i.imgur.com/vIGdnl.jpg Also while i'm here i've been meaning to get this stuff fixed, any ideas? http://i.imgur.com/fP46Bl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/LXUmRl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oKVxjl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/POdPdl.jpg Any help would be great! Cheers,
  5. Hey guys just another question, I need a jack for my v35 and I asked nisswreck but they wanna charge me $95 for one they just pulled out of a wreck, which is kinda steep I reckon. I have one from my old R34 but its a little rusted because it was left outside after I rode off the car. My mate was saying you can get a jack from super cheap at will fit it fine for about $50? Suggestions? I could just get the one from nisswreck but if i can save a bit it would be better
  6. Okay, so as for the second key i went to main north nissan and they did me up a quote for an exact replica of my key. Apparently it costs about $450 for a new key and then $90 for a cut and code.. I am going to call up and see if i get a key from ebay whether or not they can cut and code it so i'll let use know.
  7. Check this out, doesn't look too hard.. http://g35driver.com/forums/body-interior-exterior-lighting-diy/264011-diy-replacing-clearance-city-fogs-hid-bulbs.html
  8. I'm not really sure what it has at the moment as I'm not the first owner.. The left is working but the right has blown. Best bet would probably be to take the right one out and find out what it is hey? It has been checked for defects and what not when i brought it from Melbourne and they said nothing about them so maybe they are halogens?
  9. Hey guys, just a quick question, Will this fit into my v35 2003 coupe? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H4-12V-60-55W-P43t-38-Base-HID-White-XENON-6000K-Halogen-Bulb-Headlight-Lamp-/270946397461?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f15a9ed15#ht_1088wt_1397 or http://www.amazon.com/03-05-Infiniti-Stock-Headlight-Diamond/dp/B004AXESTM Cheers, Or just point to a thread that answers this
  10. Cheers mate ill check them out!
  11. Yeh will do! Ill probably replace them in the next few months! As for the key, I saw them on eBay as well but I was reason somewhere that you need to get Nissan to activate it or something..? Let us know how you go! (mine is also a 3 button)
  12. I have the v35 stock wheels but they have a few scratches from the past owner Nah not quite sure yet im gonna give nissan a call this week and ask! ill let you know!
  13. Cheers, yeh i figured out the button for the boot. I might head down to sinergy motorsport and see what they have to say! Hmm im gonna check out the do it yourself guide for the lights hopefully i don't screw it up haha
  14. Umm, well im looking just to replace the stock ones i think they're 18s.. Thinking about going with black budget wise not heaps fussed but not extremely pricey obviously! I live down at golden grove, but work near the city. Yeh thinking about upgrading, but not fussed i just want the radio to work and also to be able to play usb or ipod. What do i need to make the cable? Checking nisswreck now! Are they good for servicing and bodywork also? Do use know what halogen is meant to go in there? Also the window motor, how will i know if it need replacing? It sorta works but sometimes gets stuck?
  15. Okay so I went through the FAQ and a lot of the questions I have are answered there except the thread links are dead so I figure I'd ask in a new thread. I live in SA and I need/ was wondering about the following; Mine is 2003 Non-premium Mechanics Best mechanic to get it serviced (general and major) Bodywork Thinking about getting it detailed, has a few scratches Need some bodywork fixed on it where is the best place to go? (SA) Electronics Left window is not working too well, only way to make it move is to give it a shake new motor? Best place to get the above done (SA) Front right (top) light is out, is that just a bulb change? where do i get those bulbs? Electronics - Audio Want to get a custom stereo with iphone/USB capability (TV screen isn't important) steering wheel buttons would be nice if affordable (error f3 on cd so i figure may aswell get a whole new one) If I can get my iPhone to work with the stock that would be handy for the time being! (the ipod integration thread link from the FAQ is dead) Speaker/sub options? Best place to get the above done (SA) Misc I need a jack, no idea where I can get one Only got one car key and boot button won't work (FAQ thread link is dead) dont have immobiliser code Good place to buy some nice "down to earth" priced wheels Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Phones numbers/email addresses or websites for contacts appreciated!
  16. Lol yeh that's the one... So your saying it's 03? I did vin checks and it hasn't been written off, isn't under finance and not stolen. Would you say the price is more precise considering it's an 03 model? Or still too cheap to be legit? When I inspect it I may be able to push him further considering he is misleading with the year, so long as there is no body work damage or mechanical problems. For me I don't mind that it isnt an 06 but I just don't want it to have any issues with it and I don't want to pay more than its worth obviously. My biggest issue is I can't find a coupe under 17k that is manual.. Just noticed VIN check says its a sedan.. But it's clearly not lol.. :s also it says year of compliane is 2003 so it clearly is that year..
  17. Thanks heaps!! Yeh it's a coupe that's why I am being extra careful! I intend on flying down on friday then driving it back on saturday. So I made a call and apparently it will be $322 for RACV (member price) and they need the buyer to go to the workshop and drop it off for a full day. They will return by the next day a full report. I think I'm going to do it, as peace of mind is worth it! Hmm okay so don't take it to Nissan? Interesting, I thought that would be best as I doubt many mechanics would know much about V35's.
  18. Hey, I am looking at purchasing a manual 2006 NISSAN SKYLINE V35 350GT from Melb (I live in SA) and I just want to know the things I should be thinking about when I go there this weekend to have a closer inspection? I have done a lot of research and I previously owned an R34 but it's hard to find info on the V35's and I have never purchased interstate. (I have heard all the scary stories about dodgy deals and what not which is freaking me out a little but I love the look of the car and it's the only manual one i can find within my price range) So key things i am wondering about are (some obvious): - stolen - any accidents - I check the VIN number through transport SA and it matched the car but didn't have any data for stolen or accidents. (The guy tells me its all working and hasn't been in any accidents) - The real deal breakers mechanically that i can figure out on the test drive and inspection - Is $14,500 to much for the car with 120,000kms? - how is it on repairs/services? - bet way to pay if i have the total sum of money (no financing needed) - Is there a way I can check for dodgy odometer tampering? - Is it worth getting an RAA van to go out and check it out ($250) for full inspection Any info you can provide asap would be GREAT! Cheers! If this is in the wrong forum area sorry, i wasn't sure where to post it!
