Congratulations to Tamara and Paul - and to Bailey - welcome the new sister! Best wishes to you all!

Forgot how much I enjoyed the show! There was a clip of an R34-GTR in the montage of things to come in the upcoming series. Bastards - I want their jobs!

I have owned 5 Skyline imports since 1998 - I currently have an R34 Coupe. From the description and faults listed I would be looking else where for sure especially for the price being asked. Sure some of the faults are minor and what you would expect in a nine year old car, but the indicators are that the seller is dodgy as..... $28,000 is top dollar for a 34 GT-t. But top dollar for a car with a list of faults like these...... NO WAY. Fresh import should have fresh tyres as it can't be complied on used Jap rubber. The dealer may have switched wheels for compliance and the wear on the tyres/damaged rim is from another car altogether - or not. You don't ask top dollar for a car and present it as second rate. http://www.carsales.com.au/ show a 2000 model 4 door manual with 50000 km for $22990, even if its speedo dosent work either and it has the same faults, it is a 2000 model and 5k cheaper - thats a big difference. It may be worth while considering a coupe, there are a lot of people wanting to offload them 'cos they have realised they cannot afford insurance etc. or do what Adam did and buy an auto and convert it - search around and compare a few cars if you are new to the import scene and for sure get the RACQ/NRMA or equivalent to check it out.

Thats quite an erection for a pi55 head!

Paul I followed the link and read the information, it sounded to me as if they head to many cars last year and "marshalling was a problem". I would love to do something for the kids but tell me from your experience, would I just be getting in the way. (you know I get uncomfortable in crowds unless I'm p155ed and there is a live rock band)

This looks like great value. 660 and you get to drive open wheelers and V8s as well - an opportunity to good to be missed!
-
Yep - 1.5. Owned 2 of them - best R33GTS I reckon. Seems to be known as a 'Model change" on this site. http://imports.motortraders.net/imports/spec.asp?id=622

Even if you take the SK deal you will still need to get them fitted as well as getting the bushes and bumpstops done. You will also need front and rear wheel alignments from the sound of it. I assume the pedders quote included 2 front shocks. Get a quote from them to include shocks all round and slightly lowered springs - you may be surprised at how little extra it costs. They generally know Skylines and guarantee their work, which can save in the long run.

Glad to hear the car is going OK. I have to agree with Drunkan about changing plugs, however I would stick with platinums simply 'cos of the rooting around factor involved in changing them. I will give you a call anyway, I'm going to the Royal on Saturday night for a few - I'll see if Fatz and Majanal will be along as well. A mate is playing in the band "Enormous Hornbags". Should be a bit of Blues Brothers type music.

If you go to Auto One in Springwood they have R34s listed in their catalogues. don't forget to tell them it is a turbo. When you get the plugs give me a call. I am happy to give you a hand. I'm at Bullaburra, just up the road. Simon 0408 603 231

Good on you Kero! I seem to remember you and Pete fixing it at Oran Park too! I reckon Pete should give the car back to Emma for a week - she will take it in and get all the crap fixed to make it legal and drivable and you guys can claim it back again.

Hahahaha - maybe tying up the exhaust would cut drag as well.

I totally agree - what a great day! The day was really well run, thumbs up Initial Drift! The 45 minute sessions actually worked well, I thought they may have been to long first up but it actually gives you time to get your eye in, string a few quick(?) laps together, take it easy and let every thing cool down for a few then hit it again and look for improvement. My fastest time was actually in the first session (1:55.55) and i couldn't improve on it all day - might have had something to do with not having brakes. We heard a scraping noise on the way to the pub for lunch and found no rear pads left. The 45 minute sessions were good here as well cos' I was able to change both front and rear pads during the 'drift' session. Unfortunately I reckon that opportunities like today will soon become a thing of the past because of lack of support. It seems everyone asks for a Saturday track day however on the day it was the same crew that support the weekday ones that turned out. All of us had a great time sharing a passion with like minded enthusiasts. Once again, a great day - thanks to all that contributed.

How many times do I have to tell you to cut it with the "old" for farksake!
-
Are you away from home again Duncan?
-
Looks good Pete - 5 players, should be plenty of track time. Maybe you will have to post on other forums to make up the numbers. Where are the rest of you - this is a Saturday - get in on it or there won't be repeats!
-
Payment spent - umm sent.

How did you explain the condition of the tyres Liz? "I had them fluffed up." "I haven't driven it for a while and they are growing mould." "They are f*&ked cos' I've been thrashing it all weekend."
-
hey - did you get it sorted - must have been something simple?
-
Prank was interested.

SCAM! I'm in..............................

yep - the way way you drive the silrbva has me bluffed! WTF is "hossing" - rhymes with "tossing". Can you get me some of those $5 tyres?
