sorry to hijack... what about a rolling start (so wheelspin and traction don't really play a part)? say 2 cars, both of the same weight, and both of the same power at the wheels...but one is 2wd and the other is awd. so: 180rwkw vs 180awkw for example... obviously the awd car is making more power at the engine than the 2wd car. but after all drivetrain losses have been applied, both have the same power should both cars then be equal? effectively neck and neck? (this is all hypothetical of course - i'm just interested to hear ppls responses)

Brake Lines Question
kasanoff replied to grepin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i just replaced mine with some braided nismo items... i recommend u give the threads a good soaking in some wd-40 or something for 10-15 minutes to soften the surface corrosion - makes the job MUCH easier Edit: LOL...just saw the date on the orginal post... -

I'm using the CES split dump/front pipe (great quality btw)... while i haven't compared the difference between the split and a standard 1 piece pipe, i can tell you that the difference between a split and stock pipes was HUGE. Boost comes on earlier and stronger. Can also notice a difference when comparing against a couple of others with same mods but just 1 piece dump/front pipe (although this is just by my seat-of-my-pants guage) like arkon, i believe the theory to be quite sound and that's what initially drew me to the split dump/front...

Where Do People Mount Their Boost Gauges On An R33
kasanoff replied to nsta's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
my stock sensor is fooked - shows erratic boost readings all the time so definitely couldn't be trusted... that's one reason why i've got aftermarket boost guage... that and i like looking at my defi bf meter -

i've got one installed in a sandwich plate behind the oil filter in the stock position. i'd prolly go a filter relocation kit with the appropriate sensor fittings for next time - might get a semi-oil cooler effect from that too without splurging on a full oil cooler. i've found that oil temps obtained from sump locations tend to be a little lower than the temps obtained from a sandwich plate under the filter (5-10 degrees)...

this has happened before on my climate control buttons too...i think i posted how mine was fixed... the buttons sit on little plastic arms so they sorta float above the actual swtich. if you take out the climate control unit and pull off the face you'll see what i'm talking about. those little plastic arms on my buttons had snapped so the button was just sitting there - it looked like it was constantly depressed and it would spin around in it's place (like in the pic) i plastic welded the arms to the button again so it would sit in place and then put the face back on carefully. pretty much looks and works normal. just be delicate when u push the buttons cos they can break off again easily...

yeah, avcr has that function that you can choose to setup... it either raises or lowers the boost by a particualr amount for a short period of time. so depending which you chose, you can use it as a boost on straights, or lower your boost so you can drive cleanly out of low speed corners without wheelspin for example...

R33 Short Shifter Install
kasanoff replied to lordsnipe's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I've got a short shifter installed... Yup, more noise and notchier than stock...pretty sure the whirring noise is normal. Can hear it when there's some force/pressure applied to the shifter (even when resting my hand there while driving) -
Drivers Side Window Loose
kasanoff replied to \>sl33kLine</'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i've got the same issue - on both sides of the car... interested to hear responses from ppl i'm thinking all trimming will need to be removed and some sort of window guide(s) replaced... -
