  1. Cool - thanks Bob! That book looks excellent too... I might 'suggest' it to the wife as a Christmas present
  2. As an aside, a friend of mine's Dad owned one of the Aussie delivered cars in Canberra. His name was Ian Ruff. I wonder if it was one of the ones that you guys have identified? I'll see if I can find out more details.
  3. Thanks Bob! I bought one, and it's definitely worth having. I found an original workshop manual too I wrote a letter to Nissan in Japan regarding an exact spec for the V-Spec too. I'm waiting on a response. It should be interesting if I get one.
  4. Hello all! A couple of quick questions relating to the Aussie delivered cars: Do any of you know what brand and model of oil cooler/pump/lines were used for the transfer case cooling on the ADM cars? Does anyone know the part number (does it show up on FAST when you punch in your chassis number)? I figure that there was probably a very good reason that Nissan fitted them for the Australian market, so I'm thinking that I will have one fitted to my (very stock) '93 JDM V-Spec to ensure that it is maintained properly for Aussie conditions. I've recently obtained an original Nissan Australia workshop manual, so I have a very thorough set of diagrams showing the install - I just don't know which unit was used. My understanding is that the ADM cars came with a rather splendid little leather pouch containing the owner's manual (part ref 99902-J7400) and some other documentation, including a narrative regarding the model's handling and performance from Mark Skaife and Jim Richards. Would any of you mind if I please obtained a scan of that document to feed my passion for these cars satisfy my interest as to the contents? I was only just old enough to get my licence when those two guys and the ATCC GT-R's thrilled me to bits, and I vividly remember watching them 'in the skin' down the road from Mum and Dad's house at the grand prixs here in Adelaide. I'd love to read what Mark and Jim had to say about the GT-R to new owners. Any help would be great! Cheers Mike
  5. PM sent re strut brace
  6. How well did they fit on the seat mate? I'm after some for my R32 to preserve the seats (mine are in really good nick) but some of the seat covers out there look rubbish. I figure that the R32 and R33 seat dimensions can't be miles apart.
  7. It cost about $190 for replacement of the leaking seals and the re-gas btw. A good job too.
  8. You know what I did in the end - took it to K-Mart Tyre and Auto Service! I had a $50 voucher, so I spoke to Rob at our local KTAS and he said that their staff don't do a/c but they have a subcontractor that travels about and does all of the a/c work for their franchises. I trusted him when he said that their subbie is very good (Rob's a very no-nonsense Scottish mechanic) so I had their bloke look at it, and he sorted it out first time. He identified which seals were leaking and re-gassed it on the first visit. He nailed it too - it's running very well. If there are any further leaks their man will charge for the repair of the leaks but not the necessary re-gas, which I think is pretty reasonable.
  9. That's a very good point actually. I'll go for 9" all round.
  10. Hi all, Newbie question - do the front and rear wheels need to be the same width for an R32 GTR, or any GTR for that matter? I'm keeping a sideways eye out for an appropriately priced set of 17" LMGT2's and I understand that they came in 8" and 9" widths. If I came across a set of two 9" and two 8" rims, would they be suitale for rear and front of my car respectively? Cheers! Mike
  11. Jeff, you're a genius. Thankyou for your time today and thankyou for fixing my g-sensor mate. It's awesome how much the handling (particularly accelleration) is affected by a working ATTESA system
  12. Hi all, I'd like to borrow an english language R32 GTR workshop manual in the next few weeks. I can leave a returnable cash deposit with the lender if required. Happy to leave cash to the value of the manual. Cheers. Mike
  13. Hi all, Righto - I reckon my R32 needs a regas, and maybe a check for leaks. This thread is a bit aged, but it's the topic that I'm interested so I'll bump it. Which businesses are the ones to go to for RB26 aircon service these days? Cheers! Mike
  14. Haha! Thanks Bob - it was tongue in cheek sarcasm Thankyou very much for the advice. I couldn't even find a pdf online to review the content. I ended up finding plenty of copies of the English language workshop manual, but no owners manuals. All I could find was images of the cover! I'll buy one of these docs now. I'm happy to put some pics of my JDM up here but I feel like I'll be polluting your ADM thread! Thanks again
  15. Khunts.
  16. Ah, sorry Fatz... I got laid up witha nasty case of tonsillitis. The pain's been harsh but the codeine's been, erm, helping Still pretty sore. I'll PM you
  17. He he! Cool Look after her, she's my hero car!
  18. I wonder what the guys I was talking to were on about then? Neither know each other. One is from Melb, the other from Adelaide and both were at the Time Attack and both said that one of the Group A cars was there with a for sale 'tag'. Odd.
  19. Holy crap! What about rhdjapan or one of those sites?
  20. How much does anal rape go for these days?
  21. Cool - thanks guys. Good info. I'll have a look for one to fit the gap there
  22. Cheers - you've prompted my memory. It was Hella that the JMS boys mentioned. They had seen wide ones on GTR's. It might not be that exact model because it seems to narrow for the cutout, but I'll check that store for one that's the right width
