FYP
They are a good cheapie solution but they are in no way magic, a quality set of coilovers will do so much more than the BC will..... I run them with no complaints, but if the car becomes more track oriented then they would be one of the first changes.... They are comfy though!
Yeah, I probably over exaggerated their performance
They're fine for street, however their damping isn't really great...it mostl changes the rebound from what I understand.. and for track use you'd be looking at something that lets u set bump and rebound independently (plus other things like external oil reservoir). I think HSD does this and some of the more expensive jap brand ones.

Certain sedans had them standard, just like the JZX100 sedans (so similar)

i thought it was pretty obvious for a qualified person to be able to tell if it's HID or not. if you look behind the lights in the engine bay its totally different
The ballasts are also easily visible if you look from the middle where the Grille is towards the bottom of the lights, sticking out quite clearly

Came across this thread looking for headlight parts for my R34. Agree that washers are required too, was just pointing out that lack of auto leveling isn't necessarily a reason for being defected .
Don't know why I'm posting in an old thread as well or how you found this but some food for thought, some R34's with OEM Xenon headlights DON'T have the leveling switch where the switch panels is next to the driver window switch, then again some HAS. My car is equipped with it so I think that would be the bare minimum. Also have been told that there needs to be "washers" for the headlights, incase the dust can dazzle oncoming drivers..
Fair enough if that's the case..were these cars coupes or sedans? It just seems a bit odd because according to Nissan data, xenons + adjusters went hand in hand together and were standard equipment on the coupes, OPTIONAL package for certain sedans (see links below). That would lead me to believe any xenon cars without adjusters were not factory xenons, i.e. xenons were fitted afterwards by the owner (aftermarket kits or swapped with OEM xenon headlights), or with switches taken out (duno why somone would do that though).. who knows. But of course I could be totally wrong as I'm relying on the accuracy of nissan's own data..
Sedans:
Coupes:
Edit: Series 2 page on the same website doesn't state risers with the xenons, not sure if just not mentioned out actually removed from the car. Have seen series 2 with the switch though

I know this thread is a bit old so apologies for necro posting but everywhere I search I see people repeating the same "must have auto levelling" line.
However, from the relevant ADR:
http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2013C00238
Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 13/00 - Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles) 2005
6.2.6.2.1. In the case where a headlamp levelling device is necessary to satisfy the requirements of paragraphs 6.2.6.1.1. and 6.2.6.1.2., the device shall be automatic.
6.2.6.2.2. However, devices which are adjusted manually, either continuously or non‑continuously, shall be permitted, provided they have a stop position at which the lamps can be returned to the initial inclination defined in paragraph 6.2.6.1.1. by means of the usual adjusting screws or similar means.
These manually adjustable devices must be operable from the driver's seat.
Continually adjustable devices must have reference marks indicating the loading conditions that require adjustment of the dipped-beam.
The number of positions on devices which are not continuously adjustable must be such as to ensure compliance with the range of values prescribed in paragraph 6.2.6.1.2. in all the loading conditions defined in Annex 5.
For these devices also, the loading conditions of Annex 5 that require adjustment of the dipped-beam shall be clearly marked near the control of the device (see Annex 8).Of course this doesn't automatically mean the R34's xenons are legal but at first glance they seem to meet the basic requirements of levelling (not sure about specifics like max. adjustments etc.) There is definitely wiggle room with regards to levelling requirements.
If I'm incorrect on any of this please let me know.

Dunno man... I don't really like mine but it's a lot of cash to blow on aesthetics... They function perfectly fine, I'd rather spend the cash on boost, exhaust, brakes, etc...
True..still keep en eye out you never know what u may find cheap Looks nice lowered!
-
nice! r u going to get different wheels?
-
If none of the above works well enough, keep an eye out on yahoo auctions japan, spare trims come up all the time. Mine was scratched badly so I just replaced it.
-
Nothin special... meister S1 from a mate's chaser..
-
My interior was so bad before.........scrubbed the black paint off to reveal another coat of silver underneath before i got to the plastic rofl.... guide worked awesome though..
Metho + wet sand + PowerPlus Plastic Primer + PowerPlus Nickel + 4 Clear Coats =
A/C vents, controller & Triple Gauge cluster all to be done in a different color...probably something a bit darker
-
wow looks like I missed out on a lot of fun
-
What happened to you man? I had to represent the Gt-T community all by myself!
Haha yeah sorry about that certain things came up -_-'
-
Nice! Yeah 95%..my name is Shravan. Might bring my camera along for some shots (never been to Toowoomba so don't know how good the shots will be ) .
-
Mine aren't smoked, they are the clear nismo indicators , i saw the ones on just jap as well but id rather OEM look for some reason
-
I'm keen for cruise, n meet some new people
-
hmm true, i'll buy the one i saw on RHD Japan and see how it goes..keen for cruise as well..
-
Oh wow! I wonder why? The condition and kms are amazing! I picked it up for 17k (down from 21k) with 4 new tyres driveaway Paul is an excellent bloke to deal with!
I had the choice of white, silver, gunmetal or black but I love white cars and it was the only one with a sunroof! Plus the other white one had a nismo rear wing and I don't really like them...
I hated the wheels when I bought it, but they're starting to grow on me... Thinking about either polishing or painting them once I've lowered it
Basically because....black
My previous car was white so i got over it real quick..plus this one had some goodies (nismo clear indicators, front lip and led tail lights) but interior wise your one was definitely cleaner..
Edit: hey just out of curiosity, I noticed your car has weather shields (the strips on the top of the windows).. would you be able to tell me how these are mounted? glued / screwed in etc? I'm looking for a set but don't know how they mount..cheers!
-
Nice! Someone finally bought that car off motorman, it had been sitting there for more than a year, i almost bought it too..decided to go with the black one
Having inspected this car I can say it is a very clean buy, congrats Plus....sunroof is best
-
Just installed these on my R34 GTT. Standard spring rates (8/6). VERY comfortable and streetable on soft damper settings. Also drove them on hard all round and was very stiff, good for track. Will probably get a bit softer once they wear in.
-
Very tidy car!! Just wondering if you have any steering / rubbing issues with those wheels / offset all around?
Hello From Brisbane

I have done some mods to it so far, coilovers wheels and a few other things, was thinking of starting a build thread considering this is just the intro section
Plans so far are just to have it as a daily / streeter..not looking for too much high end power at this stage, prefer bottom end torque / midrange / nice handling mods, helps a lot on Mt Nebo runs ;D
