....ive seen plenty of "works in progress" pushed into auto salon over the years - no engines / not painted / half panel beaten !! - i reckon just turn up with it as a part of Skylines Australia exhibit - we've paid for spaces that we're not using so theres plenty of room - if i wrote my car off on the way home today id still be showing it next weekend - im all paid up & entered !! - go on Duncan - do it !!

Hi - I think what i was trying to get across was that there is a few ways to display: * have all the models grouped together in rotation ie: R32-R32-R32-R33-R33-R33-R34-R34-R34 (build order - 1 "progressive") * have different models next to each other in rotation ie: R32-R33-R34-R32-R33-R34-R32-R33-R34 (build order - 2 "progressive/regressive") * & something different ? - was never trying to play one individual car off against another just seeing how the models could be seperated/cojoined no matter what each car looked like - though maybe if there was 2 red cars for instance might be a good idea to have a different colour inbetween !? - im totally easy as these ideas are simply that

....didnt mean it like that - i wasnt talking about individual cars - rather "models" - meant that you get youre R32 "worshippers" who'll not look past them - & if they're jumbled up with different models side by side say in "build order" it might make for interesting viewing to see the progression/evolution & to perhaps compare side by side the differences/forms ?? - just an idea - ill go along with whatever everyone wants

A lunchtime meeting - bbq - sounds great - as long as you dont mind - let us all know what we can bring - see everyone there - cheers malcolm - ps - may i suggest everyone serious about this auto salon accept oz's kind invitation & MAKE time to attend ! - it will be important as things like an order of cars is probably still to be decided - i kind of like the idea of having different models (...R32-R33-R34-R32-R33-R34...) mixed up in order so to speak !!?? - it will/might make people check out the whole display instead of just honing in on one grouping ??!!

....if i may be so bold !! - shouldnt the best car(s) get the most prominant spot(s).....heheheheheh !! - sorry couldnt help myself - & if i may be extra bold - the idea of this display is simply that - a display ! - not too sure if treating it as a used car lot is in the best interests of the display - we should ALL work together in providing the paying public with the best visual display that we can - im sure that that will become apparent when we're setting up - cant wait - see you all there - malcolm

Hi - ill be there no later than 1.30pm - gets VERY hectic as the afternoon wears on - if 2004 auto salon was anything to go on it takes ages to get everyone inside then plenty more time to arrange ALL the cars in the best order & to set up flooring / banners / tv's / barriers etc etc etc - dont expect to get out till later in the evening 8-9-10ish ?? - fun -fun -fun - - i think if people cant get there till later (like 5ish) theyll just have to get in when they can - we can start arranging an order as the first entrants turn up & slot the late comers in where appropriate or shuffle things about accordingly when everyones inside - but if most of us can be ready to go in together earlier like 2ish that would be best - see you all there - its going to be great - cheers malcolm

Hi Eug - no offence taken - i just wish some pretty girl would be as interested in me as you are in my car !! - just to set the record straight as far as i know & have been able to find out the car is a "nismo demo car" most likely "originally" set up for a promotion or event back in the mid nineties - possibly just simply to ferry people about at a race meet or promotions event - nothing more than that - it started off life as just any other gtst that was pulled off the production line for some extra fiddling - some of what you see is is original & some is my own development of how i believe & think it should be (after some sketchy info from nissan japan & omori factory) - it has changed a lot since i first bought it as a pretty tidy & original car - ive added a ton of 'factory style" mods I believe belong to it & suit it - ive run with the 2500R (400R) theme throughout to tie it all together - in my eyes its a "factory look custom sports car" thats got an interesting yet not fully understood past - i must stress thats its not some long lost nismo production model - rather a demo car or promotions (PR) car used around the time that the R33 GTR was running at Le Mans - its been said that it could have also been "played" with to impress the powers that be in an attempt to try to get a more aggressive gtst into production - but i dont know for sure - i have been able to find out that there was 3 cars (mine the 2nd) that were used in this way & that of the others one was crashed & the other crushed - - im actually not that interested in its past or little badges but am very interested in the way it looks & drives & in being its present custodian in charge of keeping it well maintained & shiny !! - cheers malcolm
