  1. ... not at all ... just not fair to compare a car built 50 years ago to one built in 2009 ... no one is denying how amazing the R35 is ... nor the 250 SWB ... both cars have "pose value" , "a sense of history" & "performance" ... as does a Bi-Plane & FA-18 ... ...
  2. Quote :[The Challenge Stradale (full race version of the F360) is a stunning 30 seconds a lap slower than the 2009 GTR.] ... not sure if its fair to compare an all wheel drive car to a rear wheel drive car ... compare an R35 to other all wheel drive cars sure ... ...
  3. ... forget the car, guitar, hair cut, chain, stone wash denims & two tone tank top ! ... i want his snake skin boots !! ... ...
  4. ... R35 or F360 F1 ?? ... a tough decision with both being amazing motor vehicles in their own right ... i own & drive a Skyline & work curating a private collection of Ferraris ... they are really chalk & cheese & should NEVER be put up against each other to see which is better ... there is no better car ... they are both excellent ... offering different driving experiences & talent ... most good drivers could get into an R35 and get excellent results instantly ... you could not say that of most good drivers who get into a Ferrari ... a Ferrari such as an F40 or GTO takes more than just a good driver to perform well in it ... it takes a highly skilled driver to even start to get from the car what it is capable of ... an R35 will put a smile on the average drivers face any day ... an F40 or GTO in the hands of an average driver will kill you without warning ! ... ... if you can afford an F360 F1 you can afford an R35 as well so get both ... a clutch & tune in an F360 F1 is in the region 8 to 10 grand ... not sure what the R35 would be ... but a Ferrari in the long run will always be a more valuable asset as it will continue to appreciate over time ... a lot of the early V12 Ferraris were made in numbers as few as 10 to 30 cars ... a 1965 250 SWB will cost you today over 10 million dollars ... no Nissan will ever reach those heights ... ... ... if i had enough money id buy the yellow 1965 V12 275 Ferrari i have the pleasure of tinkering on pictured below & id buy an R35 because i love them both ... but i just dont have a spare 1.6 million dollars ... ... theres always the lotto ... cheers malcolm ... 1965 V12 275 ... 1985 GTO ... 1962 LUSSO

  8. [sure, he has used a GReddy plenum and other non-Nissan parts.] ... WOW ! ... where did this thread come back from ? ... the Greddy plenum in question was "chosen" & "listed" for use as a prototype part by the project manager in 1994 ... ... somewhere there where is sais (11A) it specifies the use of the Greddy plenum ... there wasnt a GT-R style plenum ever made for the GTS-t by Nissan or Nismo ... cheers malcolm

  12. Hi there If the coil cover is a purpose built after market piece that is moulded from plastic with the same factory style mounts and mounting hardware with no holes or cut outs other than to attach it then it will be ok - if its made from metal with say a logo or name cut out then it could be a problem - if its a "dodgy brothers" backyard attempt at a coil cover then forget it !!! cheers malcolm

  17. Hi there There is nothing worse than having some "low life" getting there sticky little fingers on "whats NOT theirs - so so sorry to hear that ! I believe there is only one sure fire solution - "a second car" - they cant steal it from a carpark if its tucked up at home "snug & safe & sound" Sad its come to this but these scumbags are like a school of sharks forever circulating until they stumble upon one - we gotta be smarter than they are and remove from the equation the very thing theyre looking for !! - otherwise sooner or later theyll stumble and - HEY PRESTO !! - ITS GONE !!! Hope all comes together re insurance ! Cheers malcolm

  19. Hi there Heres the low down : Random Drug Tests * Drug Driving * DUI Driving Drug * Prescribed Illicit Drug Division 3A of the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999 was inserted and became effective on 15 December, 2006 and gave police power to carry out "Oral Fluid Testing" of drivers for the purpose of testing for the presence of illicit drugs. Such test is carried out at the roadside by police where the driver is required to lick the test pad of the preliminary testing device in order to detect the presence of a prescribed illicit drug. If this test proves "positive" the driver will be required to undergo a second screening test in a police drug testing support vehicle at the scene. If this second DUI test proves positive, the driver will be prohibited from driving for 24 hours and the remaining oral fluid sample from the second test will then be sent off to the Government Analytical Laboratory for analysis. If that result comes back positive, then the driver can expect a Court Attendance Notice to attend court and be prosecuted. The definition of illicit drugs simply means cannabis, speed, base, ice (amphetamine),ecstasy and can be any combination of these. Section 18B(1) of the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999 permits police to require a driver to undergo one or more oral fluid tests for prescribed illicit drugs. Section 18B(2) creates an offence for a driver to "refuse or fail to undergo the oral fluid test in accordance with the directions of the officer". It is an offence if an illicit drug is detected as being present (see Driving with the presence of prescribed illicit drugs) and police can arrest and take the person to a police station or other prescribed premises in order to carry out the necessary tests on the person, whether it be obtaining a further oral sample for analysis (s.18D) or sample of urine or blood. If a blood or urine test discloses the presence of Heroin / Cocaine, then this legislation also provides for prosecuting for the presence of these drugs also. ************************************************** Pretty much covers the lot !! So if you dont mind the odd "bucket bong" "joint" "line" "snort" "tab" "pinger" "cap" "bomb" "chase" "hit" or "shot" !! Not a good idea if youre also in command of the odd couple of hundred kilowatts at the rear wheels ! Cheers malcolm

  22. Hi there Just got off the phone with Terry Ashwood who's away on business till Sun. eve. Ive arranged to call him again at 10am next Tues May 27th to discuss in full all that we are proposing. Which is: Charity Drive to La Porchetta / lunch / raffle / auction / photos.........ill ask Terry that we'd appreciate la Porchetta getting involved with the donation by means of perhaps matching our "efforts" or some % in the dollar - thatll be his call all i can do suggest. PLEASE !! - now is your chance to to suggest anything else for me to discuss with him in relation to our day there In response to the above "quote" NO date as yet has been decided on & wont be until i speak with Terry - so PLEASE more suggestions on which Sunday would be greatly appreciated. bearing in mind that enough time to to rally the masses and organise merchandise and raffle/auction be taken into consideration. Possibly late June at this stage !? In the mean time TELL EVERYONE that a CHARITY DRIVE FOR CANCER FOR KIDS IS COMING UP !! Cheers malcolm
  23. Hi there ! Duncan Duncan ! - shame on you ! - hehe !! No not at all ! - its this kind of thing that reeeeeeaally appeals to me. Except as mentioned id personally lose the chrome and shiny braided hoses and go for more of a factory look but hey thats just cosmetic and so so easy to adjust - but hey thats just "my" opinion. Its the fact that after 30 to 40 years there is still examples of cars in this condition that arnt in the nissan museum. I think its great !! - in fact as i also said i dont care what type of car it is - any car in this condition is ok by me - doesnt have to be Pebble Beach Concourse just cars in immaculate condition - theres a company in the uk doing nut & bolt ground up shell dipping restorations of e-type jags but with more up to date suspension/electronics/brakes etc etc - brilliant stuff ! Its this part or facet of motoring that i feel im into most with the driving of them second - dont get me wrong i love driving but when theyre in this condition i like it that much more !! Cheers malcolm
  24. "SIIICK !!" Yeah ! - i was waiting for someone to see them - SO HOT !! - SO SO COOOL !! Cheers malcolm
