you could weld an external gate to the stock manifold if u want gate with stock turbo, or similar, right?

an external wastegate with screamer pipe creates one of the bestest sounds u will hear from an automobile

i bought over my stocka, got it nice and cheap, with little evidence of it copping a hiding in J-Land. My cousin recently imported a 180sx under the "new rules" and it had a SAFC II, RSM and Yashio Factory Water temp gauge, all of which he has stuffed up under the dash etc to hide for compliance

permits dont mean sh*t in my opinion...... traffic cops need to make targets, if they want to sticker you, they will. As for getting permits, a non atmo venting bov could be permitted, an alloy wing could be presumably it would have to be within certain width/length, front mount cooler needs to be behind bumper. if it is then u dont need a permit for it at all. exhaust needs to be under 91db and have more that 100mm clearance. not sure on body kits, window tint needs to be 35 grade or lighter, and vertical doors, by which i think you mean gull wing style? they would need to be engineered id say?!

yeah, Protected NCB can be carried on, other insurers may just need to see some proof that you currently have it, thats all.

IF and only IF you choose to buy aftermarket.... I can reccommend Turbosmart as I have one myself and have used them for years and never had a drama with stalling or leaking. I have the VeePort Type II model which can be adjusted so the loud woooshing sound is only heard under full boost. Otherwise, its quiet and all you get is a bit of flutter. Unfortunately, without any type of management, my car still runs the stock ECR33 ecu which is nice n rich, and the BOV certainly doesnt help, tuning is neccessary.

Odds on bet most of the cars stickered were done so for having un-permitted mods. 9/10 performance cars that are stickered, are not done so because they are unsafe. I have heard wild claims from cops that genuine STi wings are a hazard, incase someone is hit and flies over the roof and hits the wing! I reckon a cop on a trip could sticker every single car from this forum for 1 reason or another and there is nothing anyone will be able to do about it. Its a way of life now, if you want the nice car with the go fast bits, you have to deal with the sh*t thats dragged along with it. oink oink y'all!

i got given a yellow sticker on saturday morning at 10am on Marmion St for my dark window tint. Whilst the cop wrote me up a defect notice, a VN SS pulled out from a side street across from us and peeled through 3 gears up the hill fish tailing all over the place..... Now im not picking on Commodores here, but come on, is that not what the Hoon Law was for? To make my yellow sticker seem even more insignificant and revenue-raiser like, the cop said if I dont get the sticker off within 20 days, I can just keep going back to the pits for extentions. He said this as if he was reccommending it??!! Biggest load of horse sh*t. Clearly, from doing a license check they would see how good a record I have from 5 years driving, but still, Its all about the numbers for them. My gfs brother is a cop, he advised traffic cops do have competitions between themselves to get as many fines/defects as they can..... I have the upmost respect for the law and the police, but very little, if any, for traffic cops......
