  1. Keep your worthless dismissive comments to yourself. If you have nothing informative to add shut up! If I could afford to run a 350Z and a "Volvo" for shopping I would ,but if I only have one car it must perform more than just one function. What else would I do? push a shopping trolley 5kms home In addition unlike yourself I have friends with a pulse rather than a psi reading that we would like to go places and share time together which makes it unsuitable to own a 2 seater car. As for your fetish for inflatable girlfriends I'm sure there are more suitable forums for you to visit than here I think this thread has run it course now thanks to all for your assistance.
  2. Drove one and loved it but no back seat and you couldn't even fit the weekly shopping in the back.
  3. Yes I agree and look good but for $13k less I'd buy the XR6-T and put a APS or similar upgrade kit and run 11's. Unfortunately I've bought a new Ford before and that's enough Puss and Pain for 1 lifetime. I appreciate them but could never own one again. Thanks for the pics guys Yes a Kenstyle rear bumper ,Gialla front lip and Veilside skirts(see first pic) was the mix I'd planned on if the 35's ever get here!!! The other alternative is the Ings kit I think I'm almost better now almost recovered from thoughts of Monaro
  4. I towed a car trailer with a R33 on it with my WRX. Fastest that 33 ever went in the wet :bahaha: Should have taken a pic would've made a cool Avatar. Seriously we had another drive of the Monaro and it was OK The boss liked it even though she's a shortie she could handle it and see to the rear etc which was her concern. The salesman was happy for me to give it a run within reason and while it went well it didn't feel like rocketship or anything and so I was a little dissappointed in that regard. It was deceptivly fast though. We talked about it on the way home and while not discounting it we wondered if we really needed something this big and impractical as our kids have their own cars anyway. The boot is so small you couldn't even go away for a week without loading stuff into the rear seat.(Think R33 from base of rear window to taillights that's how small) Checked the trip computer and the salesman who is driving the demo is averaging 19l/100km WTF?? Scooby does 10 ! If I really really liked it and thought I'd be happy for say 3 years I would have bought it by now So don't know what to do now. The REX is a fun car but a new one is very similar to my old one...I'd at leat like to feel it's different after shelling out $20-30k on top of my car.
  5. There are plusses and minuses I guess The interior of the VZ looked pretty good to me especially after the basic WRX. Not keen on std leather seats but they were comfortable The boat handling could easily fixed by Wilkinsons suspension. Got price down from $65k to $59k now dealer rang to say they just bought a car off Rocky Bay raffle winner and can sell to me for $55k drive away. Sileighty If someone was silly enough to sell me a good R34GTR for that sort of money I'd be there like a shot.
  6. They cannot sell that car until compliance approval has been granted. Who knows when that will be with the government departments taking their time. I’ve driven that car but it’s an Auto and the red didn’t do it for me. Went OK but I was hoping to fit a supercharger kit to a manual until I read about the poorly designed American kits and the problems they cause. APS have a single Turbo kit but will only sell in US not here. Their TT kit is $15500 which blows costs wayout and makes the new Monaro a better financial option. But yes it’s just a Dunnydoor unfortunately.
  7. I'm getting impatient waiting for the V35 to become available here. After 3 years on the Dark Side with the WRX I was intending returning to the fold. Trouble is I test drove a new 6speed manual CV8 Monaro and to my surprise liked it so now I'm in danger of slipping to the really dark side....HELP
  8. Congrats mate I suppose Roy has been suggested? Kids are great but be prepared for some sleepless nights. Just yesterday it seemed it was wet nappies and a feed and then last sunday morning at 4 am giggling at the front door too pissed to find the keyhole in the dark
  9. Smoke on decelleration usually means a couple of things. 1) faulty valve stem seals. I assume you changed them so it could be they were the wrong ones. 2) Turbo seals possibly? What was the reason for the rebuild? If it was for a blown head gasket maybe the creamy residue is a result of that initial problem. If it showed up just after a run around the block the oil itself on the dipstick would be white too. If not should be OK in that regard. I'm no mechanic but I would get a mech to test for hydro carbons in the radiator before ripping things apart.
  10. Did he put your sticker on nice and straight or crooked?
  11. What's the point of stupid questions then if you know all about it. It's a blue box with e-manage written on it. The picture isn't gunna show you anything about the quality is it unless the unlikely event that the seller has hung it off his tow bar and dragged it round behind him for the last three months You are in Melbourne so is he so go have a look Free bump
  12. You guys ever heard of Google and reasearching something for yourselves? Assuming it is in good working order you need to ask if its the basic package or if it has the optional harnesses or not etc etc. If it does come with the optional harnesses it's a steal..If not it's still a very good buy.
  13. Judges and lawyers are too busy rorting the Tax system and avoiding the ATO. And speaking of the ATO an executive branch of the govt. they are already a law unto themselves .
  14. Good one Liz ,my thoughts too
  15. Sorry I didn't vote as there was no WTF? option To answer briefly "Why should the elected parliament be the sole law-makers in Australia?" Because in the Westminster system of Government they are the only ELECTED body of those you mentioned and are responsible to the people. What do you suggest Communism...?...silly boy
  16. Might have misled when I typed slicks as I meant the treaded sticky street tyres. Over here the winter Motorsport series was won buy a team of WRX's shod with these tyres. They were lifting rear wheels they had so much grip. On std tyres my WRX was not the best in tight situations. But then I'm more competant driving RWD than 4WD and trying to drive it like a Skyline
  17. I see your point about waiting for something to happen the Rex does feel a bit laggy and could be caught napping but I've never been troubled by any korean car nor would I waste my time trying to prove a point to them despite them trying to bait me. Obviously the 33 is lower geared and torquier which is something I miss. But hey it's not all bad if the REX gets me 10l/100km something the Skyline couldn't do.
  18. OK my turn I've owned and competed in a 33,34 and my current 02 WRX which I've had from new. All are great cars and should be appreciated. When I see someone type "WRX's are sh$t" "R33's are whales" etc etc it reminds me of the Trev mentality we all know and love(but not limited to commodore drivers from what I've read here). So get over it guys we are all enthusiasts here. For the record my cars did the following 400m times at the same venue. R33 Manual (PFC,Intercooler,Boosted slightly,Exhaust) 13.6 sec R34 Auto (Emanage,Intercooler,Hyflow turbo,Exhaust with312RWHP) 13.6sec WRX Manual (Exhaust and barely run in otherwise stock) 14sec flat Now after 3 years and a chip upgrade I'd say it would go close to 13.6 too Add water of course and the WRX would probably crack 14.5 with the Skyline struggling to crack 20's on fat tyres. In more open events the WRX would be quicker but when it comes to motorkanas unless you fitted the WRX with slicks the Skyline in the right hands would cream the WRX and be heap more fun to boot. These are not my opinions but my experience. If I could afford to have a Skyline and a WRX I'd do so. After 80,000 enjoyable kms in my REX its a toss up between replacing it with another one or a CPV35 with some form of forced induction. So to summarise get the 33 . If your mate beats you trick up the 33 and get him back (but keep an eye on the weather forecast). But most of all enjoy the 33 a truly great car Cheers
  19. Pear shaped means that sometime there are unforseen problems and I've read on here that people have been left to fend for themselves. I've never heard that about J-Spec of course. I've imported twice before and never had a problem through someone else but a V35 means a bigger investment to risk which is the reason I'm asking. Cheers
  20. Some say not really Micko as I want a V35
  21. Tried a search but got nothing but V-spec results So can anyone tell me what j-Spec are like to deal with? If things go pear shaped for reasons outside their control do they assist or leave you with it? Thanks
  22. I agree totally. Some think it's ugly(fair enough each to their own) and looks too much like a 350Z. But to me they are appealing and I'm waiting to get a V35 as soon as someone can comply one. Look on this site gallery and forum for heaps of pics http://g35driver.com/home/
  23. Dynos differ depending on how they are set up. The HPI one may not have been in shootout mode so I'd say those figures are close enough not to worry about. Your 32 seems pretty healthy anyway which is always good to know. The intake temps are interesting though. Was that taken at the inlet manifold or air inlet?
  24. If that power dip is due to retardation a SAFC won't help because it only adjusts the fuel not timing I believe. What did Lumpy recommend as he knows his Nissans so I would go with that. Other than that I'm another vote for the PFC. It plugs straight in and only has to be tuned as opposed to wired up then tuned so install and tune costs may not differ that much.
  25. Buy now and they'll throw in a Peter Brock Polariser
