  1. I've been looking for a C110 for a while with no luck. Maybe I should consider one of these as they're a bit easier to find and a lot less prone to rust. RB25DET with triple webbers fitted would be cool
  2. Thats not a garage...THESE are garages http://www.luxury4play.com/automotive/3656...ad-50-pics.html
  3. Me too but only on ladies
  4. Just got the word As a favour a transmission specialist will rebuild my gearbox for $400 So if it's not rebuildable hopefully I'll find out before you sell your z32 box Mags
  5. Love your work Dan That coupe is awesome. Is that the original green they came out with? I had a sedan in that colour and really loved it. Got a great pic of my daughter polishing the front bumper when she was 3....time flys.. she's a 28yo school teacher now Had a pale yellow coupe too ,got it when less than 12 months old (both manuals) Wife just reminded me we had a black auto sedan too (wish i'd kept them)
  6. Bid on this Dennis Very collectible http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?url=h....jpg&title=
  7. If i was looking for a long term project car which would be a better prospect to import from Japan. Been looking for a 240k for ages but nothing seems to ever come up for sale in aust. So as I have a contact in Japan was considering getting a C110 but if I could find a C130 Laurel that could be a good alternative as they'd be rare here in Aust (if any at all) So which would make the better collectible? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...el_C130_001.JPG http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...l_C130_rear.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Laurel...E2.80.931977.29 PS anyone know of a 240k coupe for sale?
  8. Been looking at the Z32 box on the net. It seems to have a remote gearchange arrangement which differs from the FJ20 setup. Does it bolt in easily enough? After all the dramas of my car sitting in bits and being stuffed around by workshops i want something easy to do. Rebuilding my gearbox would be a preferred option as that's simple
  9. Did you guess right?
  10. Thanks guys So from your replies do i assume that it's not worth rebuilding the FJ box? If I get a Z32 it will probably need rebuilding anyway. The RB 25 gearbox sounds good as long as the gearbox mounting doesn't need too many mods and the gearstick comes up in the same place.
  11. The engine is stock internally I've fitted a KKR380 turbo and PI-1 intercooler. http://www.streettuned.com.au/Forced-Induc...S/prod_462.html http://www.otomoto.com.au/kkr/intercoolers/index.html plus a Autronic SMC computer and keeping boost to 17psi. The 288hp is just a number so not sure what you'll get on another dyno. Main thing for me was going from 220 to 288hp on the same dyno
  12. With my DR30's new found grunt another issue has come to light. Durung normal to spirited driving the gearbox is great. But when trying harder at track daus the gearbox syncros are a bit slow and graunch a little. Would it be better to rebuild the gearbox with new sybcros or fit a later box like others have done. If fitting another box what works and what mods are required to make it fit?
  13. WOW, what a difference a tuner makes. After the new turbo and autronic fitting dramas I was never that happy with the performance of the car. Something was just not right but the tuner assured me it was as good as it could be. It was running out of injectors and needed upgrading so that limited the power to 220rwhp. The power was OK but the delivery was woefull. Problem was that changing from first to second near the redline resulted in some lag until the revs built up again. It was not really pleasant to drive that way and made it difficult to use in the tight circuit as per the above youtube video. So the car has been sitting in my Son in laws workshop since June as I have no space left at home (too many toys). We changed the injectors and returned the car to the same tuning workshop (the tuner had loked the Autronic so I had to go back (another story)) Anyway the well renowned tuner only worked contract for the workshop and is unreliable. He started working on the tune encountered a problem then dissappeared for weeks at a time. i asked the workshop to get their new tuner to look at it instead of waiting so he went right through the car and found a number of problems that the other guy had overlooked. First off the turbo actuator was not operating correctly , there was an issue with the timing causing the missfire that the other tuner walked away from. To the new tuners credit he rang Autronic over east and sought some advise and fixed the problem the supposed Autronic expert tuner couldn't. Anyway the results are amazing. Not only was there a power increase ,when changing into second this beast tries to shred the tyres This car is so torquey now by comparision. Felt like a new car when I drove it back to my Son in Laws workshop. He will service the car and we'll do a few other jobs over the next 2 weeks until his new house is finished and the DR gets a permenant home at his place. I can then house the DR or GTR at his place so I can get to drive which one I feel like. So to summarise Tuner 1 =220rwhp Tuner 2 =288rwhp The tuner got the car to post 320rwhp but backed it off at my request as he recommends an actuator change to a lower psi rating to control the boost better.
  14. I couldn't agree more as Dennis adds an enormous amount of information to the forum and I value his opinions even if I may not agree entirely. i'm guilty of escalating hostilities in this thread as I don't mind critisism as such but become agitated when they are of a personal nature. Me and Dennis are all good ....for now
  15. Maybe you should change your password as a precaution Dennis
  16. While I'm insulted by your assumption Dennis I'm also confused by the nice PM you sent me within 10 minutes of your previous post. I agree to ignore your online hostilities for the sake of peace and deleted my reply. We'll have to agree to disagree. One mans pinnacle is another's midrange marketing exercise Look forward to seeing more pics to get this thread back on topic
  17. Thanks Dennis From what I read his Centreline comments were a reaction to your post. All I saw him put out there was info on his new car and he didn't deserve to be shot to bits. We are just a small portion of the SAU community and as a result we should all just support each other and be able to post about what we were doing without fear of ridicule. I apologise for the Vacationer comment if it offended you so. I just don't get what the big deal is about the PNV over a GT-ES without the stickers and embroidery but you do and that's great. But I do appreciate old Skylines in great condition. I haven't been offered anything for my DR despite (for the first time in a 32 year marriage) getting pressure from the missus to sell the DR and keep my 33 GTR and motorbike. She just doesn't get the DR so I've been hiding it at different workshops for nearly a year :-) So can't we all just get on?
  18. Dennis You are out of order. These personal attacks must stop. Try not to be so judgemental of everybody. Not everyone is obsessed with collecting every last remaining copy of Nissans "Vacationer pack" but leave you to enjoy your hobby because that's your thing. Just leave the guy be to enjoy his car.
  19. Awesome!! Did you have to restore it to that condition? Cheers
  20. Go wild or go home I love these two colours but not sure how they'd look on a Skyline These colours look awesome in the metal...pics don't do them justice Saw my first green RS focus couple of weeks ago and it sure stands out Ford also have some nice blues too....pity they're Fords though
  21. For what it's worth I think it looks pretty cool as it is :-)
  22. Fabulous example mate so good luck with the sale. A true collectible.
  23. Yeah that was my thoughts too. dropped in to the workshop this morning but the tuner was not there to talk to. Will have a chat to him during the week
  24. Have you tried Steve at Northside Nissan Spare Parts? He's most helpful and an enthusiast himself
  25. The tuner is having issues with tuning my DR30 Apparently it's started misfiring coming onto boost which he claims is caused by the Harmonic Balancer slipping affecting the timing. I'm not sure how this affects things other than the rubber becoming soft and the indicated timing retarding at revs. Car is running a Autronic SMC with trigger disc. Anyone else come across this issue?
