Hi all, sorry for the late reply... the fan i have checked again........it spins freely both ways...... so maybe sumthing to do with the exhaust?

Ok, ive checked the fan again last nite, it turns easily, i initially didnt turn it with a bit of force but when i tried it last nite, it turns perfectly......the car was sitting in the garage all day so the temp factor is out of it too. now, what are we left with? i think something to do with the exhaust system maybe? Dunno ?

Hi, all the sugns seem to be pointing to the fan clutch as the other things such as piping and k & n are all fine and in place.....definately not the turbo... :-) I will try turning the fan again today when i get home as i havent driven the car at all today so the temp for checkin should be good. so what im looking for is for the fan to turn pretty easily right? if it only turns 15 to 30 then stops is when i should be worried?? Well sdm33 said the part comes pretty cheap so its not that bad, Cheers Fellas ill update 2moro.

Hi, It sure does the same thing in nuetral, Definately not the turbo spooloing :-) I had a look at the fan yesterday, it has a slight freeplay of about the length of your palm, other than that it pretty solid. I will check the piping and K & N.. etc and get back to you guys. Cheers!

Hi All, Im not sure if this is the correct place to post this thread but i havent been here for so long and the entire site has had a overhaul. Ok the problem is, when i take of, 1st gear, the car will gradually increase in a loud sound, at about 2500- 3000 rpm, it becomes very loud, a bit like what it sounds like when you initially take off when the car is still a bit cold. I have always had this sound when i use to take of and the car was just warming itself up. The sound actually over takes the sound of my K & N and the factory BOV, not totally over takes it but it halves the original sound. But now its a constant annoyance at the rpm that i mentioned about 3000. It doesnt only do it in 1st, 2nd and third are pretty much the same only slightly less loud. 4th and 5th i dont really hear too much of it. I dont think its the exhaust, although i have on of those silent exhausts, it isnt very loud at all so it could have something to do with it. Sounds a bit like the old ford falcons, big windy sound. Well i hope ive explained it well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers guys!

We may have the same problem though my car vibrates when i brake in speeds in excess of 70 kmh. I have been told by many to get my discs machined. Makes sense as this is the common cure for this problem, Hope this helps. Prakesh

Man whats with the "ring nissan"?? Half the nissan dealers dont even deal with import parts u fool!!!! like are u serious? if you feel that strongly about ringing nissan then go do it yourself man but we have some decent people here who are willing to share their knowledge and experience regarding our cars!! As someone mentioned, u wouldnt really wanna spend 16 to 18k on a 11 to 12 yer old car when u can get something around 8 yrs old for about 23 - 25k... the skyline is A better car all round with heaps of potential........Z32, parts alot harder to get, coolong probs, and much more expensive to run.......i personally couldnt go past the 96 skyline myself......... I just started my car after 5 days and it was all good, therefore im assuming anythin less than 5 days is maybe a bit dodgy, maybe theres something else draining your battery that u dont know about......probably a good idea to get it checked out........it'll save you the changing of batteries all the time... Well it does depend alot on how much u drive it and how u treat the audio system in it....if u play alot of music whilst the car isnt started then your battery might die alot quicker... Cheers!

Hi All, just wondering how long your batteries stay charged without starting the car? I used to have some dodgy wiring done up and my battery used to go flat in like 2-3 days so i wouldnt have a clue how long it'll go without starting..Dunno bout others but i only drive my 33 when i go cruising or just for the pleasure of driving, i dont take it to work or down the street to get milk and bread....i have another car for those purposes.... So how long guys???? Cheers!

Well atleast theres 2 of us now so there should be plenty of help!! i was actually thinkin if doing a major service including timing belt and all the ones u mentioned but im just out of pocket at the moment.....my family friend actually works for atarmon nissan and he gets stuff like spark plugs, timing belts and other genral stuff at discounted prices....so i might just do a major service..... But as u said, any help would be much appreciated! cheers!

Hi All, Im doing a minor service for my skyline and as its the first one, im not too sure on which parts to get.......so could u guys gimme some part numbers for oil filter, fuel filter, COOLANT, and the best oil....ive read in other threads that the motul 4100 turbolite is probably the top for oils for the skyline..... Also reagrding the air filter....ive got that K&N washable one and the filter service kit for that is like 28 bucks so i just wanted to know if there was another way to clean it??? any help, much appreciated!!
