it'll bolt straight back in. use it for a little while ..get your blown one hi flowed.. fit that back up ..that'll bolt up all the same as before ..then sell the stock one u used in the mean time. i mean its up to you really..... GCG is in your area ..well i think they sydney based anyways.. and its about a 4 day turn around or something depending on work load. most other bolt on turbos will require different oil and water lines.. but u usually buy them as a "bolt on kit" with everything u need to bolt on ..... if u want bolt on ..buy a FULL kit. not just the turbo ....saves u running around that way. all the best buddy Matt

buy another stock one .. bolt that back on and keep driving ..and save up some cash to have your blown one rebuild. few for sale at the moment in the for sale section .. 350 - 450 bucks.. Matt

As it says just wondering how do i find out what turbo is what? ive bought a VG30 turbo for my rb20 .. just wondering how do i go about confirming that it actually is a VG30 turbo. on the comp cover it says 16V 10. :confused: Same if i buy a rb25 turbo ..how do i id. what series it is etc? is there a thread that this has been asked in before? if so ..i couldnt find it ..so point me to it if there is. thanks Matt :chairshot

i had the same problem ..when i changed oil weight....fixed it self when i put back the original weight oil i had in the beginning. also removed the catch can for now ..and its stopped.

ive personally seen 10000rpm in a RB20 .. with cyro treated rods and crank forgies and a GT3540 turbo on board ...... was making 241rwkw at 12psi or something .. cant remember .. was Glenn Hunters GTSX coupe .... did have a Rb26 previous and was featured in Zoom .. but it smashed the water pump at 11500rpm at a drift nats in sydney. so the rb20 went in to replace it.

mine too came withouta bov...... car was stock as a rock .. for 16years of its life ..(till i got it that is) ....std turbo now runs 11psi and a HKS SSQ....but still has slight reversion on low boost... ..... althought it still auto trans at the moment......its kinda wank wank..until its manualed. i didnt notice much of a difference between ..the lack of bov and ith it installed.. with both std intercooler and now fmic...... the psh is louder with more boost thats about all .. for mild street use a bov is good thing ....but i think it comes down to drivers personal discretion. standard Rb20 redtop turbo ....making this horrible squeeling sound since i put the controller on ..i think its the bleeder hole... but **** it spool earlier now and comes in with a bit of a wack compared to the unboosted 10psi it was running for the last 12months. i'm running around 12 psi ..gets fuel cut when its cold ..so i think a little more tweakin might be needed. in 2nd it holds around 12 psi to about 5.. and drops to 10 right at the peak of 6500-7000. with a FMIC 3inch dump pipe back system with hiflow modified CAT. :Pimp2: .... currently building my split 3inch dump pipe ..hopefully that frees it up a little more ..as it kinda pops thru the exhaust under hard boost in 1st and 2nd..but i tihnk thats plug gap .. but i'm looking to get my VG30 turbo fitted soon as well .... as long as i dont kill this 20 in the mean time..

14psi is great........ fitted mine today.. didnt expect it to run 14psi ... but gave my a surprise when the boost came in.. and fuel cut got me in 2nd its still dropping psi off at top end like b4 ..bout 2-3psi after it makes full boost..not too fussed.. only stock turbo ....got it back to 12 ..goes nicely. no fuel cut yet .. Matt

how much would u want for the gearbox and clutch assembly? most id able to pay would be 500 - 600cash on pick up

reason i asked coz i was hoping to buy all the parts need to do a timing belt, water pump, idler and tensioner and timing case seals in one visit to the garage. no idea what numbers they are?

sorry to dig this up.. but what part no. do u use for the idler and tensioner bearings/pulley? is it the same as the rb25? coz i seen ppl getting them from bearing places for cheap. Matt

buy an rsm sharky ..it does 1/4s(if u buy gsensor) .. rpm ..speed.. voltage and for 270bucks ..i seen cheaper this week on ns.com for like 240 ..... much better unit i reckon for hte money.....the gtech stuff is pretty expensive and pretty vague in terms of results. and then when your sorted buy a motorbike helmet and hit the strip.. air going into your front bar ..at speed.... is pretty lazy it'll go around things to get past.... fit your cooler.. see how it goes.. if your really that concerned about the exposure its getting cut up the bar or get an aftermarket one with a big inlet thats just my opinion. coz if u can see it ..the cops can see it. if anything ..personally i would firstly move your number plate up (drill some lower holes on the plate and screw itback in place)..and probably to start with ..remove that rib in the middle...should be fine Matt
