unfortunatly some of the information posted above is incorrect. here we go..... (talking abt NSW here) when a 'transport' (rego check) is done via police radio any intell reports, events or warnings related to the vehicle stored on COPS (Computerised Operational Policing System) comes up straight away. this intell is basically information about any contact police have had with the car and persons linked to it or other things like sus activity and the like. so, if the driver has been pulled over in the past, his information will be on the screen. then, its just one click away from his licence status. most of the time when you come into contact with police they enter a description into the computer about you. (hair, tattoo's etc) along with all offence details. (if u get pulled over by police, don't bother telling stories/lying you will only cause more headaches for yourself) Next, (something you wont like) The Mark 2 MDT (Mobile Data terminals) fitted to many police vehicles show the owners licence details when a transport(rego check) is done on the car. it can also view ICOPS and RTA drivers licence photo's. (ICOPS photos are pics taken after you have been arrested ) also wreckedhead, it is not limited to 5 years. I have seen information/charges right back to the early 90's. something else that will be VERY handy will be trialed mid 2005. it is a vehicle mounted camera system that takes a photo of a vehicle registration plate and within SECONDS alerts if the vehicle is unregistered or the owner of the car does not have a current/valid licence. A second police vehicle up the road will receive this data and stop/pull over the car. trials of this gear in canberra have proved that a LARGE parking lot is needed to park all the cars after they are picked up. so, expect to see these units parked on the side of major roads near you very soon.

hu ?? there IS a way find someone to buy it on the cheap over in jap land, or is selling one over there(and owned it for min 12 months) then pay them to come to australia for a little holiday and bring the car with them as a private import i know several people that have done this on a few cars

geez, what sort of crazy thread is this ?? there IS such software available and CRD 1000000% have it!!!! Bel Performance also have it. as already mentioned, all apexi power excel dealers have it. I have personally got the FC Datalogit software and use it on my STI. I also lend it to several places that use it to tune multiple cars FACTS 1. All of the 'dongles' are the same for the FC Datalogit. I have PERSONALLY used it on WRX's, GTR's, 200SX's and a GTI-R 2. each model car has a different version of software. i.e. wrx software will ONLY work on a wrx so, you will have to buy the correct software to suit your car I would be interested in selling my unit complete will software for the cars I have mentioned above for about $650AUD. I dont really use it anymore as my car is fully tuned now. FYI, the datalogit unit also has launch control. and u can log AFR's etc
