  1. Yeah thanks Scotty, I wanted to keep the factory o2 there anyway to avoid those issues, I'd feel better just having it at the start of the midpipe. You mentioned maybe selling your setup to me before but I thought you were waiting till the Evo was back on the road? Have you fitted the new turbo and built a new setup to suit it already?
  2. Well Josh, it sounds stupid and it probably is but here's the deal: I'm looking for a stock dump so i can try smash out the cat convertor and swap it with my stock dump. Not because i wanna be hectic sick and go hard and loud, but actually because i need to install a wideband o2 sensor before the first cat. I can't put it in stock o2 location because it's too close to the turbo and will get damaged from the heat. Needs to be further downstream. At this point you might be saying "so fit a Scotty dump pipe and plumb in your sensor just behind that...car will go hectic sick fast & loud and you have o2 sorted" You'd be 100% correct. This is where it gets stupid, I'm about to install + tune an Fcon V pro on the stock setup. I've got a 3071r that will be going on once i finish buying all the other supporting mods i'll need to make it all happen (more than likely this will take aaaages) So that'll have a custom dump once it goes on and as it's V-band rear, there'd be no use for a factory style dump pipe. So basically to save some cash for now and get car running on the f-con, i need a cat-less stock dump to make it possible. Pretty stupid? Maybe... Even possible? Not sure...but if i can get a spare pipe i'll have a crack Thats my amazing story, thanks for reading
  3. I reckon the colour coding looks great, whole car is looking good!
  4. Hi guys, I'm after a stock dump off an m35, hopefully someone who has upgraded to a Scotty-spec or the like has their old one lying around and doesn't mind parting with it. Let me know if you've got one! Thanks a lot.
  5. ^ The Focals I wired in use clear speaker cable and the one with red trace (line) is used as positive, which is opposite to the standard wiring setup so yeah...like Brick said. Every manufacturer makes their own rules
  6. I'm just adding info to the post josh, as Theo noted in the first part that he did not know the polarity. So I guess you could say it's not common knowledge, or he's not a commoner, or he was taking the piss and I fell right into it.
  7. Hey guys just to add to this, when I wired my speakers to an amp, the wires with a trace are negative and the solid coloured wire twisted with it is the positive one. Cheers
  8. I really want the aero rear wing, every time I see a stag with one I'm overcome with jealousy.
  9. Congrats Dane & welcome, saw your new car on the last Stagea cruise, looks awesome!
  10. Sad to hear you're out of the stag game Craig, your cars been an inspiration for me, and you're knowledge and experience priceless. Hopefully you'll enjoy getting into some nice VAG
  11. I found these numbers on another thread - 4PK945 & 6PK1180, can anyone confirm that for me?
  12. Hey guys, Does anyone have the part numbers for nm35 A/C belt and Alternator belt? The writing has worn off mine so makes ordering difficult without pulling them off to measure. Cheers!
  13. I agree with everything Sinista said, go to the mechanic he recommended. I guess if you plan to sell the car after repairs then just take whatever route works out to be cheaper. More than likely just a turbo repair will be cheaper than finding and fitting another complete engine.
  14. Cool, cheers! The turbo arrived today It'll take me forever to get all the stuff I need to make everything work...but I'm pretty excited!
  15. Holy sheet that's cheap! Cool I'll be scanning it every night. We need version 3.3 yeah?
  16. Yeah I was thinking of asking Streeter to have a look for me, but he normally has a break over Christmas so maybe I'll try in the new year. What you reckon I'd have to pay if you can get one Craig?
  17. Oh yeah rs6 daaahhh sorry Well that's a whole lot more awesomeness. Is that the same engine as gallardo and r8 but with turbos? Hey footo, gearbox map sounds the goods, I think I remember reading that your tuner could make a harness up, but didn't he want like $800 or something crazy like that? Does anyone here have one set up without the original vq25 harness? Did your tuner make yours when he installed the fcon or did you have it already?
  18. Haha rs4 nice We've supercharged a couple of them at work and they go pretty decent! I reckon a turbocharged r36 passat manual would be a sick wagon project and probably nowhere near cost of rs4. Turbo r32 golf/Audi TTs go amazing, so much better than stock n/a or later model 4cyl turbo. Anyway back on topic, thanks for all the help so far guys, Theo I reckon what you and others have said about f-con makes it sound like a winner for me at this time, just needed to make sure ill e able to get a good tuner in sydney! Can anyone tell me also will it be possible to get a universal harness and make that suit my car or is it only possible to try get the vq25 harness? These are like impossible to get now yeah? And if I buy a new f-con from japan, will it come with software to get the car running straight away on base map, or do I need to get that from tuner?
  19. So I contacted Haltech to see what they'd be able to offer currently and was told at the moment there is nothing that would 100% but he did say they are planning to add vq25 support soon and also try have a new ecu coming out first half of next year that can support multi-variable cam control and DBW, whic might be a good option.
  20. Yeah I need a solution that's available now also... I just wanted to know what issues people knew of with the different setups. Like my mate was tellin me "why don't we just try hook up pretty much any aftermarket standalone even as a piggyback and should be sweet" but from everything I've learnt from here that's just not true, there's been a fair bit of trying different brands with only a couple roads to success and even they have compromises. So Scotty I should probably just try to get a f-con I reckon, at least I shouldn't have to touch the computer side of things again. EMU sounds good enough for now but yeh don't wanna have to change again later if shit gets serious. How much should I expect to pay? And is it possible to get a universal harness and butcher it to fit my car, so I'm not stuck trying to find the vq25 one forever. Also who's the recommended tuner for F-cons in sydney?
  21. Thanks Craig & Scotty, There's a lot of helpful info just there, Scott you covered lots of what I was thinking it was like. And yeah Craig all good with the intake mods and other stuff that'll need to be done, it was on sale and I had to get it, I've got a very good mate that's awesome with fab work and it'll give us a reason to spend more time drinking in the garage So with the EMU, the car will be kind of fighting the tune over time to get it back to normal because you are only tricking values that it still had control over right? Did you experience that when u had it Scott like did u need constant touch-up tunes? It's funny you mentioned Haltech because my mate was telling me he reckons I should contact them direct to see what we can do...He runs an autronic standalone in his car but it's rb30 powered so it's actually possible o__o. Do you guys think with a well skilled tuner I would be able to get a Haltech to work with the car or is it simply a waste of time/money and just stick to what all m35 modders have had success with? It would be nice to have control like the f-con but with more readily available parts/support and more tuners that a local brand can offer. Guess that's what you're hoping for with the adaptronic anyway hey! So...it's really tough to know what's best to do aye.
  22. I put a turbosmart boost T on mine and other than the rear section of exhaust it's all stock. Most I've run is around 17psi but got scared after a while and put it back to 14...i think I was getting airflow cut too at the higher boost sometimes. But yeah still run it and prefer to standard electronic one.
  23. Hi all, Sorry I know this stuff has been covered a hundred million times on here, but no matter how many pages I read through I can't find enough of what I want to know, so ill just ask here. I've got a gtx3071r on the way so I need to get my computer sorted. Please any of you guys with actual experience with different ecu options let me know what you think. I was just going to get EMU + harness and see how far that gets me for a start. But then I was reading about limitations and I thought...should I try get a Nismo as a base ecu...might be impossible to find by now anyway, will it make it so much better? What I've found is a lot of guys talking about how one option is better than another but not necessarily why it's so much better. So: will I lose all variable cam action with EMU or will I just not be able to control it? As long as it works to help performance I don't care about no control...just don't want to loose it. Also can anyone tell me like maybe in a list form, what the hks f-con can do better than emanage on our engines specifically. I'm not worried about cost differences as much as performance difference, and the availability of parts. Thanks very much for any help and sorry for all the crap I just wrote. Cheers
