  1. ive had 2 cars now with CF vented bonnets, R33 and now R34, both fine, no probs at all, as someone else said, the vents are usually positioned in places which wont effect anything, both of mine have had the big vent in the middle between the radiator and engine so the water runs staight out and the side vents have been close to strut towers so neither really allow water to touch anything but the car body, only issue that i noticed was that on the od occasion i would get a little bit of fanbelt squeek due to the water, but it only lasted a second or two....... hope that helps
  2. possible to get some measurements? cause as someone else said, medium in jap sizes is usually quite small....
  3. thats true with regards to insurance my R33 cost 1850 a year to insure for $20k and now i have the 34 it costs just over $1400 insured for $33k??? work that out? maybe the R33 has a bad history with insurance companys so they put it in a higher risk category and cause there arent as many R34's (yet) they are not classed as risky, just a guess here, someone correct me if im wrong. but with regards to fuel economy there aint really much difference between the 33 and the 34 i think, even though my 34 has a bit more power than my 33 had, it does use quite a bit more fuel for the small amount of power gained. my 2c
  4. yea i noticed that was kingsway too, im also not far from there.. nice ride too, love the colour!!! Another R34 around the area, will probably see ya round, look out for white R34 with bomex kit and 350Z wheels :)
  5. go the 34!!!!! as someone else said the supra's starting to look dated, but im bias i got a 34 seriously though, you'll most probably be wrapped with either or the 2 so go for whichever u decide on the day
  6. yea sure it doesnt look right at all, as someone else said it doesnt follow the supras styling, but the supra front end is bloody ugly anyway, so actually looks ok....
  7. 1. VL Berlina 2. VL Calais 3. VN Executive (complete with fully sik bodykit ) 4. VP Calais V8 5. R33 GTST (Stolen) 6. R33 GTST 7. R34 GTT Whats next???
  8. 24, R34 GTT (with few light mods, FMIC, PFC, etc etc...) insured for 34k paying ~$1400 through Just Car..
  9. u need to yake the car over the pits for an inspection and then u can get WA plates issued if it passes ok, costs around $50 for an inspection then around $15 for new plates, and you'll also have to pay licencing fees too at that time which will prob be around $230 for 6 months, im pretty sure if the car was in your name in Tassie u wont have to pay stamp duty only transfer which shouldnt be too much, hope that helps
  10. yea i get bout 6.5km/1litre in my 34, manual, few mods (Power fc, front mount, exhaust etc etc) on BP Ultimate.
  11. what about the black silicone stuff they use to hold windscreens in, how do u get that off paintwork? there are 3 tiny spots on my door that annoy the hell outta me but i have never been able to get them off....... :P
  12. make sure its got all black wiring otherwise it wont be australian government approved, alot of those kind of alarms that u get from china have coloured wiring. just something to check out :(
  13. make sure your rims and tires match your tire placard, i had all sorts of problems with my 34 when taking it over cause it has 350Z wheels on it but the tire placard said it should only have 17" rims and tires on it, so in the end i had to borrow a set of 17's to take it over as they wouldnt accept the 18" "Z" wheels, then the car was too low cause of the change in wheel size, aaarrrrggggghhhhh!! Make sure no part of the car is lower than 100mm, it was a pain but all good now. Good luck!!!! :D
  14. apparently the decision has been made and its happening, nothing can be done, even CAMS have advertised for another state to host it, really sux, do they wanna make WA even more dull!!!!!! signed anyway
  15. geez i didnt think i had been around for over 3 years, days of SDU, mysfit, then SAU, they were good but as ppl have said, cant be helped once things grow, just take the good with the bad
  16. i know what ya mean about the law system being a joke, i got car-jacked in my 33, then they got in a high speed chase and wrote it off, the cops know who did it but apparently cant bust them due to lack of evidence, i thought fingerprints and DNA were good enough, but obviously not, meanwhile i get hit with huge insurance bills cause they never made a prosecution, really suks, very sorry to hear about it going and i hope you get it back in one piece with not much damage........
  17. my 33 had a brass button in it and i didnt really like it, lots of shuddering, my 34 has a OS giken twin plate, and i find it better and easier than the brass button, took a little bit of getting used to but once i did it was fine, as someone else said they are fairly light (lighter than brass button) but just engage like instantly, and if u dont have the revs up it will stall, but all in all they are good, and id keep it if i were you
  18. yea dan i remember it, got heaps of looks, have to try it in the 34 this time round

  23. have searched the forum for info but only found info on R33's (mmhg). my 34 has "kg/cm2" on the standard boost guage, goes from 0 - 1.4, how does this equate to psi/bar?
