Just switched over from Optus 3gig as well - went over to Internode 1.5 Mbit flat rate unlimited plan. Its $150 a month but we are splitting it 3 ways. We can get around 130 k/sec on a good connection.

I reckon he is, cos its the same ECU used in the VL Commodore and you're telling me hardly anyone has modified the ECU on a VL??? come on!

Sounds like you have the stock GTS (non turbo) wheels - are they 4 stud? The turbo stock rims are 5 stud. hope that helps.

With regards to pinging - would the car appear to surge or splutter on acceleration or is this a completely different problem?
-
Yeah but i'm thinking why not have wireless net access and you could set it up so your pc at home could encode / stream the foxtel signal over the net so you could pick it up in the car. Now that'd be a cool project if you could get it working and had $$$$ - imagine the data download charges hehe
-
If you could get foxtel in the car why would you bother getting out of your 'Line at all? A mobile divx/mp3/mame enabled small pc would be a lot more fun and give you a much wider range of cool stuff you could do I reckon. Having a library of music clips on demand would be pretty damn cool.

Haha Good stuff! Haven't heard those names since learning about them at Uni

I'm in the eastern suburbs not far - see heaps around Doncaster / Box Hill especially.

*Billy Ray Cyrus *Macarena Single (with extra remixes on repeat) *Kenny G But seriously, If you can get your hands on the Grand Theft Auto : Vice City soundtrack which has every radio station in the game. If you like 80's hits like Billie Jean then it's pretty good.

NISSAN dealership service - good/bad/ugly??
RUX replied to franks's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Depends where your located but if your in Melbourne - i took my r33 down for a 50k service at Blackburn Nissan They did a great job (got my previous R31 skyline serviced there as well). The specialise in import parts as well. Jase -
I got a Mongoose alarm - with 3 point immobilizer which was needed by my insurance co. Works very well with my turbo timer as well. Jase

Actually JimiH u could be lucky, i took my Sony one to a local audio place and they said that the Pioneers are easy and quick to fix if anthing goes wrong - apparently it could take 3-6 months to get mine fixed by Sony so I basically ripped it out and gonna redo the stereo from scratch anyways. Hope you have better luck! I think i'll check if any fuses are blown anyways - hopefully it could be just that and woohoo 12 disc stacker here i come!
-
I've got a Sony 12 stacker that does exactly the same thing (i.e sweet fa) - its pissing me off cos i'm listening to tapes as well! Need to hurry up and save for a new cd/mp3 player!

I reckon it's great to see an Aussie product doing so well considering the competition. And anyway the recalls were VERY minor - an earthing strap being added and a 50c suspension clip so not bad considering it is basically all new from AU. I reckon congrats are in order to Ford OZ for pulling their collective fingers out and producing a car that quite clearly is a huge leap for the Aussie car industry - and updating the falcon from 60's to late 20th century technology BTW: The JE camira's were quite good cars believe it or not - it was the early models (JB) that had the problems and tarnished the reputation of the later ones. I got done for 64 in a 60 zone last week (bloody 3km/h over the limit in VIC - Thanks Bracksy!) So in other words at 60km/h i'm doing the right thing but at 64 km/h i'm somehow a threat to society. argh!

I bought my car from Mondo Motors a few months back, and it is extremely immaculate for its age, havent had a single problem so far and i've done almost 5000 clicks. I got it checked out comprehensively by an independent RACV inspection and the report came back almost perfect. I was able to take the car out for a test drive no probs, and the guy I dealt with was more than helpful - in the end I was only too happy to buy from them, plus they gave me a great trade-in price for my EB falcon. Most of the cars aren't road registered yet and unlike many other dealerships, all cars are locked in the yard. You may get pissed off cos the cars are locked and you cant sit in them, but as a prospective buyer the least amount of people touching / sitting in a car you are intending to buy is great IMO. Granted they have there fair share of dodgy examples but it doesnt take a lot of common sense to realise if a car has been thrashed or even done the amount of kays on the odometer. The bottom line is to have a look at heaps of examples, and do some research on the net about other peoples buying experiences - once you've done that you can easily sort through the salesman garbage from the facts. After my experiences with Mondo, I would have no problem recommending them to anyone. (And no, i dont work for them ) Jase

It appears to have been around since May in Japan and only appeared here relatively recently. I dont see how it could be crap - its clearly the best general driving arcade sim out at the moment - and possibly the only decent drifting arcade game.
-
Very cool game! - I played it last night actually at some arcade in Station Street in Box Hill. I chose the AE86 Trueno and you can get some awesome drifts happening around some of the corners. Graphics are good, and the car driving dynamics are pretty damn good also. Hopefully it will be ported to PS2 or one of the consoles soon.

Finally got around to taking a photo of it! Any ideas? Jase

I can think of a couple of things that could be causing this: (1) Try a different type of CD-R - I know that from previous experience Alpine's are a bit fussy when it comes to CD-R / RW. (2) The WMA to MP3 conversion (why use WMA at all - it is dodgy) - use a good CD Ripping program like CDex to rip your CD's. (3) Don't use variable bit rate encoding unless your sure the headunit supports it otherwise it will cause problems. I'm not too familiar with the headunit so i dont know if this is the case. If all else fails take it back to the shop you got it from and get them to check it out - thats what they are there for. cheers, Jase
