  1. PAGE 41 FOR PICS OF R33 SERIES 2 INSTALLATION Cheers, Vape
  2. haha, world of warcraft is the devil against girlfriends. Lanvarok, Horde 60 Rogue on Blackrock.
  3. having worked at holden, this will be way off the actual release. and that is a merge of astra and vectra to make the new commodore.
  4. Hey guys, Ripper search function. Hicas results in nothing too helpful once you have the fault code. Did the diag and got code 21. Vehicle Speed Sensor Not Present. Np, check the computer at the back, reseat all the cabling to the unit - did seem loose. Did the diag again and got 12 AND 21. 12 being Hica Power Supply not present. My goodness. Can anyone tell me what to actually look at in regards to both these errors? All stock standard steering wheel, no aftermarket stuff. Series 2 R33 AFAIK still got the 180km/h speed limit. Have checked the ECU and the cabling seem fine. Hicas light always comes on after going above 20 and turning any direction. If I manage to make it to a long straight, the light does not come on even above 80km/h unless I change lane... /sigh. not sure what to do about this, maybe I will pull apart the cluster and check the tracks on the back of the speedo. I have installed the aftermarket white dials. But was fine after that... but ya never know, it may have come loose or something over time. Any help appreciated guys!! Vape
  5. i dont understand you guys that get so little km's off a tank, i get always over 450 and only ever fill up 55L or there abouts, just until the fuel light comes on. always used bp ultimate and reset the ecu when i got the car for the first time. stock series 2 r33 with the turbotech boost controller and a slightly bigger exhaust (have no idea about it - was changed for compliance)
  6. Thanks JD. Holy crap, i didnt realise that hose was not secured haha. maybe that is why my hicas light is on lol. I got so confused about eveyone's directions on that controller, even the picture that was sent with the unit in the mail didnt make sense to me. People seems to put it in different ways. So I tried the manual version, and nothing happened, less boost and nothing when i turned the screw. then did it another way and it was overboosting like mad, so i had to unscrew coz i crapped myself thinking it would break somehting lol. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out! Vape
  7. Heya guys, here are pics of my installation 97 series 2 R33 Hope that helps.
  8. yeppo, this is simply awesome! i put this thing in after much trouble. haha, i thort this would be easy, but shows how much of a mechanical nub i am. anyway, spools up much quicker now, no stock blowoff between gears (97 series 2) and holds boost stongly all the way to redline. on the stock boost controller it sits just halfway between the +7 and the halfway marker. damn worth the money.
  9. heya, i ordered the part like a week and a half ago, and got the part yesterday in the mail. was a little delayed but i suspect Mark doesnt get on the net very often. hope you get it in time!!! will be installing tonight i think cheers
  10. Excellent! Thanks for that. Shame about the cheaper brand knockoffs..!
  11. Heya, trying to find the brandname for these type of wheels, have seen em as Starcorp, RJR and Bantec, Avantec. SAU member Skygt I need to know which is correct, google doesn't give me any useful info. I would love to buy a set exactly as these, chrome and prolly 17inch. Anyone know any shops that I can get these from?
  12. further to that, my line is a 97 that was imported with 85,000kms on it. i doubt it has done that little, specially in japan where they idle for longer periods of time. 85k travelled, sure, but how many has the engine done? 160k?
  13. hehe, 108,000kms and still have not done it... meh, when i get the chance, i will do my timing belt too. funny how in 40years, timing belts "only last" 110,000 kms.... surely there have been advances on that... anyway
  14. That was when the dials were down at their lowest brightness... just a bad shot with the camera, trying to show that the needles are now lit.... because of me putting the bulbs back in. Proof that the bulbs dont wreak the el look from underneath
  15. Guilty, I picked them up off Daryl at 11pm, got home at about 11:30 and installed them. I got into bed at 1:15am. Almost 2 hours.
  16. ..and if anyone needs a hand, I would be glad to help, PM me. It was a bitch to put them on... these needles, can't they invent some quickrelease feature??? maybe the R35 then......
  17. Oops, sorry guys, the last 2 shots are really crap. Still learning how to effectively take a photograph with the right camera settings for night mode etc. The main bright ones were with 0.7sec exposure... the last, i have no idea. Rob
  18. Alright people! Here are my images taken just now after rerouting the cabling so that the bulbs are back in. I found that the needles were way too dark, especially when there were no street lights! I have found that there are holes on the back of the dash cluster for holding cabling against it. I removed the connectors from the leads and thread the cables through these holes, then connected the connectors (?) and was still able to use the bulbs for the needles. Hope you all have success the first time... !
  19. Hi All, Ok, pics will be up shortly, just uploading to web now.... stay tuned. Rob
  20. Oh... further to that, where did people put the controller? i could not stick it to the plastic on the side of the steering wheel because it could not stick to the plastic????
  21. Hi Guys, I have put them on on tuesday night and after picking them up of Daryl at 11pm (sorry for the lateness dude) and finished by 1:15am. they are awesome. Yes yo uhave to slip them THROUGH the needles and then press the entire el dial down to slide under the needle to allow the bum end of the needle to fit through. Also, i took the power off the cigerette lighter, black on the black, and red off the red/blue going to the light AROUND the lighter. One thing i have noticed though, is that i cannot see the bluddy needles at night. are they supposed to light up or something? i have to look for the black shadow to see what speed i am doing and also, i cant see the needles forf the fuel, temp and oil gauges.... help? Vape
