  1. Idler pully snapped off which changed cam timing to make the pistons and valves all try and occupy the same space at the same time...(Damm... that never works!) Compression not good on all cyl so now im suspecting piston rings or piston problems. All looked good from the top when it was appart. Now all i can see is $$$...
  2. Hi All, I am in need of some urgent advice. I am in the process of getting my RB26 rebuilt due to the pistons and valves decinding they would try giving eachother a kiss and finding that this union was never ment to be.... I have had the head rebuilt (new valves, guides, shims) and had the turbo internals upgaded to 360deg steel wheels (good for 27psi). The pistons looked fine from the top, but after reassembley, the compression was down to 130 on some of the cylinders. Pop in some oil and it jumps back to 190. So it looks like the rings may have cracked or worse, piston ring skirts have broken. Bore not marked at all. Anyway, i want to replace the pistons & rings. I can get standard pistons from Nissan and rings, but i wanted to upgrade to forged pistons for std bore with good rings to handle the extra boost. New conrod bearings also required. What is the best option at the best price to do this, and who supplies them in Australia? Also after a sump baffle kit (Tomei or other) and Upper Oil Restrictor Kit (got a big JUN oil pump feeding my baby already) What an average price for these and where can i get them? Any other bits I've missed? (There is a time frame and a budget to work to, but i want to get it right this time)
  3. Thanks. Got it all set up, but it looks like there are other problems with the engine. Pulling it out for a full rebuild now...
  4. Thanks. Ive had it all set up properly now, but it looks like the engine has more severe problems than just the valves. Pulling the whole engine out and starting a fresh rebuild.
  5. What are the inlet and exhaust valve clearences for a 95 R33 GTR VSpec? Getting head fixed and need to know asap. Thanks
  6. Thanks. I'll check up with your contact. My local Nissan Parts supplier is pretty useless when it comes to performance or import parts. Their motto is... "If it ain't stock, it ain't stocked!" Still trying to hunt down a good supplier for a JUN oil pump. Anyone got a good contact? Thanks.

  9. My JUN oil pump in my R33GTR split the back cover plate to the point where it cant be repaired. The rest of the pump internals are all ok. Looks like something got picked up in the oil system that it couldn't compress in the pump. So now im after a second hand backing plate from an old JUN oil pump, or the name of a supplier who does parts for them or a new pump at a good price(last resort). Also i'm in the process of getting the gearbox fixed. The standard 3rd 4th shaft wear issues and syncro's. You use to be able to buy the replacement parts from nissan, but they dont stock them any more. Anyone know who does? Thanks.
