  4. Hi all, I'm in the process of an rb30det build with s1 rb25 head. The head currently has hks step 1 - 256 dur 8.8 lift inlet and 264 dur 9 lift exhaust with an adjustable exh cam gear. Vct still works and it has 1mm oversize valves and upgraded springs. The head was spun to 8000rpm regularly on the 2.5l. I know all this cos it's my head. Just wondering if any of you can shed any light on how these cams will perform on the 3 litre. Funds are tight but I don't want the head to hold the 3ltr back so would upgrade them if really necessary. Rev limit will remain at 8000 and I'm using a precision 6870.

  6. It could be out of anything now you mention it. I just thought it would have to be turbo smart cos it fit.
  7. Recently moved my gate to a turbine mount and it works too well, forcing the gate to open way early and not performing. I pulled the gate apart to find the 7psi spring. A mate had a 14psi spring luckily that I have now thrown in but it is blue. See the pic below and it shows no blue spring. Does anyone know what the 45/48mm gates blue spring was actually rated at? The new range and colours are all different according to turbo smart.

  9. 30psi through a Pte 6870 will do it. Mine made 482 at 7200 rpm with ignition breakdown. Once sorted I'm going for 521rwkw. (700hp) and 8.99. (Car has gone 9.50 with 520hp) Only marginally laggier than a 35r.

  11. Just going to block off the original and weld the 48 to the turbine housing. If it doesn't flow enough I'll the go the new style 50mm. Who can someone recommend Northside of Brisbane? I spoke to Kyle from 6 boost and he doesn't do it anymore.

  14. Ok how about if I come With a possible solution. What if I keep the 48 in its current location and weld one of these 35psi jobs to the turbine housing? Or should I just cap off the original and weld the 48 to the turbine housing?
  15. Bugger. So just never been a problem before because ball bearing Garrett not as efficient as precision or is it the size of the 6870? It controlled boost perfectly for 9 years with the old turbo.
  16. It is twin scroll with two pipes feeding into the single gate flange.
  17. Interesting Scotty that sounds promising for the 50. Jet I would just get the 60 but it's a manifold off job, which I will do if I have to but I'm sure ive read plenty of people having success with the 50 so just chasing feedback. So easy to just bolt the 50 on and go racing. 60 is a major for me at the moment. Thanks for the feedback.
  18. Want it to hold 30psi for 700hp (on dyno we had it set at 28 and it crept late then ignition break down at 7200)but as stated at the track I had it set 20 points lower on the eboost and it still hit 32psi as soon as it could in first gear. 60ft in 1.34. Was like a boost line was off.
  19. Rb25 650hp before it breaks down at 7200rpm (revs to 8000) Boost cut is set at 32psi 4" dump front wheel exit Ems computer 14psi spring No boost chart.
  20. I am currently running a 48mm progate and since fitting the 6870 it will not hold boost at the track. It held it on the dyno with slight creep after 6000rpm but at the track I'm hitting boost cut in first no matter how low I set the eboost. Has anyone done the straight swap for a 50mm? Will it hold it ya reckon? Or will I have to get a 60mm and do a cut and shut job on the exhaust manifold?

  22. I have the bcpr7es gapped to .55 and they work a treat at lower boost but I'll try the iridiums if no luck.
  23. They were way too dear mate got some bcpr9es ones from down the road and will give them a go. Reckon they will be too cold? I'll gap em to .55.
