  1. not sure, but lucky its just a flutter when i put my fmic in it seems to have maxed my ecu. i get a flat spot between 4500-5500 now. i'm gonna have to buy a new ecu (powerfc) or get a piggyback to fix it. much more expensive than i thought it would be :*(
  2. nengun have it for about $420 so I'll offer $400
  3. thanks guys. I think i will go the SAFCII option. fair bit cheaper and I have no more mods in mind really. maybe just change to AFM to Z32 but thats about it. Obviously the powerfc option would be ideal, but it is $700 more+ cost of tuning. Thanks again.
  4. seems a fair bit more expensive than a safc doesn't it? you could almost get a powerfc for those prices?
  5. mm thanks. Am leaning towards a SAFCII. Are they easy to tune? my mech. has never used one before I don't think, but he's done Wolf ECUs before. He should be able to work it out you think? I cant find a price for purchase, fitment and tune of the e-manage. Anyone care to devulge this info?
  6. the e-manage huh? i havn't really seen much about it. I think i remember a thread a while ago? will do a search. haha 1st thread. thought i'd seen it somewhere!
  7. I have recently installed a FMIC and since doing so my standard ecu has been maxed out. I get boost cut(?) at about 4500-6000rpm in every gear. I was wondering what i should go for. I know the powerfc is obviously better, but i probably wont do much more to my car. I was only aiming for about 200rwkw and i doubt i will ever change the turbo. I just want to run the stock at about 12psi. Will the SAFCII solve my current problems? If anything else was to be upgraded it would probably just be a fuel pump or something small so it's not like i have big plans for the car. Just want a nice cruiser. anyway so far i've only got a 3" exhaust, FMIC and turbosmart boost controller.
  8. damn that zed is beautiful
  9. I got it, sweet graphics although hard to see them! Its very dark and atmospheric. Some parts will scare the shit outta ya just like the first one! It's worth the money imo. Jimbo- i hope your system is newish. it runs pretty well on mine but i'm not using AA. mines a p4 [email protected], 9700pro w/ 512 on an asus. much below that and i reckon it would struggle.
  10. pretty cheap isn't it?
  11. also if it is the clutch should I get the exedy HD patrol clutch? I have heard conflicting reports (yes i have done the forum search and read the posts) and most people say that it good and others are concerned that it would be rooted after a few high rpm launches. What are some other cheapish clutch alternatives that would suit my car, 3" zorst, FMIC, 10-12 psi boost controller. Hoping to get around 200rwkw eventually.
  12. Thanks, I had the brakes done a while ago. Some green colored kevlar, cant quite remember the name. But ever since they have been squeeling really bad. I thought they would wear in but they havn't. The only problem with that idea is that the smell has only been in the last week or so and the brakes have been in for months.
  13. I'm getting a really weird smell when I drive. I hope its the clutch but am not to sure It's hard to describe but tthe smell really reaks. I can smell it in the cabin and outside. its a weird smell though. I cant really notice any slipping but i could be as the performance has felt pretty avergae lately. Any ideas what it could be? help! JaFF
  14. I'm looking for a powerfc. Pref with a hand controller. Have been offered $1240 new. can anyone beat this? I don't mind if it's second hand as long as it works well. Also, as I'm in tas I am limited to what workshops i can go to and I believe that practically none have a good knowledge in tuning them. Therefore I think it would be wise to come over to melb and get it tuned. Where/who is a kick ass workshop that really know how to tune the powerfc well in Melbourne? Oh can anyone approximate tune costs? The car is running pretty shit so it would need a fair amount of tuning i reckon. Mods include turbosmart boost controller (7psi and 10psi but can change obviously), front mount 600x300x76, 3 inch cat back (i havn't checked to see if its turbo back but i doubt it)and turbosmart bov which I want to swap back to standard as I'm having some stalling issues. Thanks for any help. JaFF
  15. AS the above states. I'm looking for one. Pref with a hand controller. Have been offered $1240 new. can anyone beat this. I don't mind if it's second hand as long as it works well. 23. Hey all, I have installed my FMIC but unfortunately there was one side-effect I hadn't planned on. I use the standard air filter box and now a FMIC pipe is blocking its path and the intake from front of bonnet no longer fits. Now when driving the boost comes on strong at 3500 and hold firm but there is like a soft/flat spot in mid to high revs. in second i seem to only be able to pull 90kms instead of the 100 i used to pull. This soft/flat spot is there in all gears. I'm hoping that the problem is the air filternow not getting enough cool air. I was hoping for some clarification on this. anyway if it is that I will get a pod filter setup w/ partition and make up a feed from the front left bumper as I now have one of the standard intercooler holes free for intake. Please say this is the problem!! As i said, it' doesn't seem to be a boost problem. It is boosting to 8 psi and holding firm even through the flat spots. thanks for any help/opinions
  24. if you have a big intercooler sitting in front of the radiator would this help the air flow down onto the radiator?
