I was reading in another forum that a user claimed to be getting 600kms per tank out of the celsior. Thats a shitload better than what I get with my r33 gtst.
How thirsty are you talking for the soarer Baron and do you have the v8 or TT?
yeah, I hadn't really looked at one before but I noticed a thread here about them and had a look. The more I found out about them the more they became an attractive option.
The more you guys have posted about ongoing costs for the gtiR has scared me off a bit.
I just need something to cruise around in to and from work. As i said I never go to the strip or do any circuits so sports cars are kinda wasted on me. I don't regret having the r33 for a second, it's an awesome car. Just time for a change, I want something a bit more comfortable.
hmmm, waiting for an insurance quote to come back on a stock one.
I've also been looking at Toyota Celsiors. I actually kinda like them and from what I've read from reviews and user comments the engines are bullet proof, aren't exactly a slouch and are pretty economical.
They are bloody cheap too, might have to find out how the insurance is.
Cheers,
James
Pity it looks like a POS.
hmm, It's hard to get a test drive down here in tas as there aren;t that many floating about.
I think I'll check out the insurance costs on Monday before I decide to find a test drive.
Cheers
how quick is a stock GTiR though? I'm not to concerned about running costs as long as it's not off the planet on fuel and servicing. I think I just want a change and would be happy with a gtir. I will have to look into insurance though, if it's that much more I'll be giving it a miss for sure.
Might try to take one for a test drive in the future.
I already have an R33 gtst but am looking for something a little bit cheaper and a bit less to insure.
I'll probably be able to get 15-16k for my line so I don't want to spend over that.
I have looked at this pricerange for a while now and the pulsar gtiR is the only car i'm really even considering. I was wondering if anyone else had gone from an R33 to a GTiR and what were your experiences?
I've never got into taking my car to the strip or circuit racing so the r33 is a bit of a waste on me. I just want a quick car that I can use as a daily driver.
Anyone done this ?
Cheers,
How long is he down for and when? Also who's dyno is he using? how much is he charging? Is he just remapping ecu's or is he open to doing powerfc's and SAFC IIs?
Is there a thread about this?? !!!
Its pretty obvious that if no one down here is good enough you'd take it to melbourne.
al_r33 racepace is own of the best known workshops for imports in australia. It's in melbourne: http://racepacemotorsport.com/main.html
makes it pretty expensive having to go to Melb for a tune.
I think I'll just stick with my old mechanic for servicing requirements and when I can afford to, take it to racepace for a tune. Probably wont bother until we have 98RON at the pump tho.
When I start my car and it idles my knock readings are 20-30. As soon as I'm into the rev range it drops to 0.
When I stick my foot to the boards it goes straight to 0 and doesn't alter.
This si one 12psi too.
caz,
so the software you have turns the pda into a SAFC and RSM in one type unit?
it wouldn't be as good as a full replacement like a powerfc would it?
Cheers,
JaFF
IT All Rounder as well, Network Controller is title in Education Department. Got about 500 pc's on-site with 2 it workers (including me).
Keeps us pretty busy.
Paid to much for the line but still love it.
I must be invisible. I'm interested in purchasing here but want to see proof of the quality for these front bars.
Please post pics of your work, preferrably up close shots of the bar from inside and out.
Thanks
he's listed prices. I'd assume $298 without postage for the front bars.
Has anyone ordered these kits from this supplier though?
I'd like to see some high res shots of the actual product so we can see the quality. Do you have any of these kits fitted to the car. I'm talking R33 Series 1 kits personally.
8oosted, whats sort of car do you have, mods and how much was your insurance?
My r33 gtst with SAFCII, FMIC, 3" turbo back exhaust, bodykit and 18" wheels was bang on $1000 per year. I'm 23 with rating 1.
