or if you want a money pit that spends most of its time on car stands than it does on tyres...

ummm +40 means your rims will be sitting furthur in.. not sure if you will scrub or not.. you most probably will for the fronts. but skylines usually have an offset of about +32 or +35. so I wouldnt go any more than that. you will also take into account the X-factor, which is the spoke design - this will play a part in determining whether or not you'll clear your calipers eug

actually i saw a 6 wheeler ford the other night...

cant buy proper HCl nowadays - apparently something to do with it being one of the ingredients terrorists are after. we use it all the time in teh labs, only universities, etc etc are licensed to buy them.. it doesnt burn through stuff. Acetone may work...

would be interesting to compare your dyno to a dyno dynamics readout with someone who has similar mods. as i personally think that you should be pushing more power. shouldn't it should be fine to do it in 3rd gear if they configure the dyno for 3rd? but hmm... 4th.... eug p.s - did u retain the VVT with the GTS Link?
-
werd i've already started a thread on this breathless... asking for people's experiences with such a motor - Don has built one and occassionally takes it to the salt lake for high speed runs. dunno the reason for your post? p.s - lol @ funky

Warren's on teh ball...

ok sorry dude - i guess its just a little random. first of all this is the Non Turbo section, so if you have a GTST you'll be wanting to post in the Forced Induction Section. secondly, what type of Skyline do you have? R32? R33? or R34?

Difference Between Rb25de In R32 And R33
Eug replied to dartani0n's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i am not sure about the iridiums, but i am running platinums in mine. they dont like dyno's and are due for a change after less than 10000km - turning a cold engine over isn't as smooth anymore... next set will be ngk coppers... p.s no noticeable power increase - MAYBE a little smoother acceleration... simply not worth it at $20 per plug. -
Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
Eug replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
x-factor sucks balls Skyline model = R33 GTS Wheel diameter = 17" Wheel width = 7" Wheel offset = +32 Tyre size = 225/45?/17 Modifications to fit = 32gtst rotors and calipers, needed 8mm spacers Rim Type = Endura Racing -

your best work yet robo! post on TK!!

fair enough dude... i admit the 100ml/twin was a bit below teh belt, but it appears that everyone who seems to have some sort of force induced car has the notion that NA's are slugs. but the fact is we arent talking about GTST's here... we're talking about GTS's and whether they are able to hold their own or if its any good. GTST will always have more power (simple), but there will be other factors drivability (ie. lag.) which may/may not effect how the car is driven especially around a tight track. we're not comparing NA and turbo here, nor are we comparing driver's abilities... but in the right hands an NA car is good enough to keep up with the turbo's. and that at the end of the day is partly what this thread was originally about - and funky summed that up nicely. Schumacher out.
-
dude, whats with the attitude? the thread is about if non-turbo's are good, and people's responses have been that they are decent, and are quite capable of keeping up with gtst's. someone people just have teh notion that with more power your going to win hands down... john was simply proving that wrong. everyone has a different level of abiltity, and if someone with an NA can keep up with a gtst then good on them. no need to get cranky because 100mL and 2 extra turbos are needed to compensate for ability.

'94 33 GTS about 500 fangin' it. 500-550 babying it around and shifting early did somewhere near 600 once doing highway driving.

i've seen na_r33 lead gtr's through some twisty stuff...

by racing down the road, you mean your local strip right. thats more of a personal choice mate - if u got the money and wanna do it then do it. if u dont and wanna gtr then dont and save teh money and buy a gtr. its probably better if u search and find out if other people have had significant or any decent sort of gains from the type of power modifications you are after... (extractors, exhaust, pod filter, intake, cams, twin throttle bodies, trumpets, ecu, safc) ...rather than post a new thread everytime you (or anyone else) feels they cant make a judgement about what their next mod should be. like i said its a personal choice - what you want the car for (track, drag, street). the info is all over the forums - just search for them and see if you can justify spending the money.
