oops i read that he had an r33 rb25de. my bad
-
keen to see how aggressive that little punk hamilton will be without some nice run offs.
-
that is true ash, however an NA car would sit at higher revs for far longer than any turbo car. NA = revs = power again be weary with the harmonics issue that the RB30s are supposed to have. not as simple as throwing rods in and voila. knifeblading the crank is also a good idea/
-
yeah but you can do cams and all that with just the head off. rods means the whole lot has to come back out, then it goes downhill from there moneywise. -rods leads to... -full balanced bottom end (crank, balancer, pistons, race bearings, etc.) -then the cams and head work (port, polish, oversize valves, etc.) i looked into the same motor setup - and me personally i'd much prefer to do the whole lot at once than gradually do one mod at a time. it's a lot of coin initially but saves hassles down the track. best way is to start with the block and leave the head stock, then when you get coined up do the head. however that's not how people usually mod cars (head first, then block). the money is why i scrapped the idea. i reckon it's a 15-20K exercise to have it done properly.

give DBA or RDA a call, or you could simply take your rims off and give it a quick measure. one of the other guys here might be able to help you out. i ditched the stock brakes asap
-
i'd be looking at your engine. dyno, service, etc.
-
post her up please. japanese wont stop me.

mate, step back a bit. they are trying to prove you wrong because you are making a claim. we unfortunately live in a world where claims are backed up by evidence. all you have are promises and your own judgment of how new you think your car is. even imports coming in with full up to date logbooks aren't a good indication of the type of mileage anymore. if the car's condition makes you happy then that's all you need, you don't need/have to convince us and stop trying to prove it to the other guys and they'll leave you alone. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Re...on-t140022.html today is your lucky day! exactly, so why does it matter what everyone else says? you have to understand that you can pretty much buy new of every part of skylines (imports) off the shelf. you only have to walk through ricesalon to see that everyone and anyone can tidy up a car.
-
welcome levi, i'd go for the camshafts myself - it's far more cost effective. also remember to factor retune costs for either mod
-
they should be the same as the DET as the VRS kits do not differ
-
if it's stock 2.25 to 2.5" mate. best to confirm by searching around the forum it's been covered many times. also check if your cat, etc. has been modified previously
-
Dan has pretty much nailed it on the head!!
-
it certainly looks like it's been well looked after. so congratulations to you.
-
i have not seen any documentation of a type x r33 ever being released so if you can point me into the right direction that would be great. promises and someone's word isn't really what i was hoping for. no one here has called you names or abused you. so don't you go start voicing off. consider this a verbal warning to everyone to keep the conversation civil and mature. this is a forum where everyone is expected to share their opinions whether good or bad, we all have to be able to take some form of criticism. i don't want to hear anymore about how many km or what not, everyone knows about imports and their odometer issues. the OP is well aware of everyone's comments and if he wishes to ignore them then everyone needs to respect that. play nice guys
-
moved as requested by OP
-
im not here to bag or disprove your claim, but do you have a reference for your above quote? i'm genuinely interested as this might help me with my brake conversion
-
because car mileage isn't really any indicator of condition. bushes do degrade over time and these cars may have been sitting around for quite some time. all i'm saying is give the basics a quick look over to check before diving in and buying new stuff. 5 stud doesn't sound correct. show us a picture of the brake/caliper set up.
-
the rims are already here, have been sitting in my living room for the past 8 months. just no cash to put semis on them. the headgasket blew and i couldnt be arsed taking the head off, will be sending the head away to get some port/polishing and then some this week. bloody cars!
-
standard service, check your fluids. oil (engine, diff, gearbox, brakefluid) sparkies filters pads rotors etc etc etc. do as much as you can to get a clean slate
-
excellent!!! and in a nice 'ol sedan too!!`
-
only one way to find out haha
-
good luck with it!!
-
a guy i know has fabricated plates to adapt the RB26 throttle bodies onto the RB25 head... let me know if you are keen and i can put you in touch with him. actually i think he has a thread floating around here somewhere
-
depends on what you want to use the car for? in all honesty you wouldnt even be pushing the limits of the car on the streets with stock suspension. a quick freshen up with new or reconditioned shocks and some bushes will satisfy
-
yeah not a fan of the rims
