Pics from SAU Members Cruise (30-04-05, Some Dam Thing Somewhere)
Eug replied to krawler's topic in Queensland
was good cheers to all, specially all teh executives for organizing it. -
well fair enough dude, and I understand their point - cos I admit that this stuff is crap But the point I'm trying to get across is that people want cheap parts but look at copy/non-genuine rubbish - and they come on here and rant etc etc China sell dodgy shit, etc. Buy the real deal in China, Australia, Japan or US its all the same. They know its a fake, they know its inferior, yet they buy it... So to the original poster: Simple, you know its crap, you know its not genuine, save your dosh and buy the real deal.
-
guys... please actually make sure it is from China before you go and critize - if it is then so be it. I (and I'm sure others on this forum too) take offence at this... not everything made in China/Asia is dodgy... There are things from asia which are genuinely made and are no more inferior to other products on the market... now when you decide to be stingy and try to save money by being a tight ass by purchasing black market/copy items - then you can expect to get what you pay for. Have I exceeded my Platinum Plugs servicibility?
Eug replied to superspit's topic in General Maintenance
i think a rough ball park figure is 100 000km for platinum plugs, but i guess depending on how much work done has been done to your engine and how hard you drive the car, i am pretty sure you'd expect to see less than that. a mate of mine used to do a full service on his gtr every 5000km, and yes he changed all 6 sparkies and all platinum. -
r33 gts, is what i got last year for my first car... r32 gts is quite aiight too... hat goes off to ya, for thinkin abt the future and insurance, and knowing that these cars drive slightly differently to others... i made the same choice to go n/a, and i'm loving it - all my mates are spewin over the insurance and fuel prices, inability to handle boost, turbo problems, etc that said an; r31, r32 gts, r33gts, 180sx, s13 are all very good beginning cars - and with the money you save on insurance/fuel in the first few years it'll be even better when you can throw in a fully worked RB, SR or something even crazier. eug

What Mods To R33 N/a To Make It Go 180-210rkw At The Wheels
Eug replied to ma$e's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
actually i believe Johnny's V8 conversion ended up cheaper than an RB25DET conversion. -
What Mods To R33 N/a To Make It Go 180-210rkw At The Wheels
Eug replied to ma$e's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sounds like your lazy and want a recipe for instant power... i suggest you do a search into RB30s, or like slow_r31 said search the v8s. do a little research then you can post something that is realistic and doesn't make you look like a wannabe dyno queen to even think of obtaining that kind of power in an rb20, while not impossible (nothing is impossible) - it simply is not worth the money spent. even turbo'd RBs take a little work to get that kind of power. ie. front mount, boost controller, hi-flow turbo, pfc, etc. eug -
cannon will give you sound... for turbo - 3" system wud be fairly decent.

beef flaps pinky cake with candles... express on the flap express - happy birfdai tooo you
-
I am not doing this conversion - but am quite interested in what you are saying here... Basically what i gather is tha; build a high compression RB30DET, take off the turbo? and drive it as an RB30DE - then its just a simple matter of bolting the turbo back on?? EDIT: I've thought about this with a mate - and just seems unpractical. tuning, exhaust, intakes and lil bits an pieces need to be changed... dis-regard the post // but will leave it for others.

another option you may want to include: non-turbo i personally went for non-turbo, purely because of insurance, and the fact that i had never driven a rwd car... they handle far more differently to a fwd, a story that happened to a mate of mine: its raining and he's at the set of lights, he gets on the throttle to turn a corner. hits boost and the rear end flicks out... having no experience what so ever in how to correct himself - fish tails it and slams sideways into a pole. everyone thinks turbo's are the the best and thats all there is to it - most definately you get your money's worth in terms of power. i dont know about you, but when doing my homework into an r33 gtst - i found it quite hard to find someone that would cover me, and even when they did - was quoted up into the thousands for 3rd party insurance. more importantly the deciding factor in whether you should get a turbo or not is... can you afford running costs?! do you absolutely need forced induction? ie. are you drag racing? doing track work? (reads: not on the street) i intend on doing track work in my gts, and don't see any reason why i need a turbo for that. i know someone who owns an na 31 (stock motor) and manages to keep up with the turbo cars on the mountains. forget about what other's think - and choose what's right for your budget and needs. i am suggesting a more realistic opinion you may not have taken into consideration.

this would be me c.drives stick like dried poo on a toilet roll... much quieter, different compound i believe, different tread pattern and far grippier than the 539s... i first got the c.drives as an experiment type thing - because they stopped 539s. as soon as i left the tyre shop (not even run in) i cud notice the difference.. that said - if u can still get 539s and for a good price then get them, you'll love them.
-
some 32 gtst do have abs... 2 of my mates have them.. one is a gts4 and the other is a gtst (type m - i believe)
-
umm... don't you already have a 3" system?!! how can you back up this claim of more power and more torque on the dyno - just that i just assumed by your findings that you were talking from personal experience.
-
that first attached picture - i cant tell the difference if its a lil die-cast model or real.... actually all the other ones kinda look odd... i'm doing my head in - is it real?! but if it is.... this is one lil dynamo!!!! insane and engine mounted in the rear, etc.... fkn insane
-
however the airflow issue - NA's still need some degree of "flow" for low and mid range revs... and reading the link MearCat has posted only supports that a 2.5" exhaust system is optimum for NA Skylines in regards to performance, drivibility, and throttle response.
-
umm... you have a nissan leopard?!!! you didnt by chance buy the silver one that was @ st. lucia? wouldnt an upholsterer by able to stitch one up?
-
black 32 outside UQ this morning with the new SAU sticker.... had a GTR badge on it.... didnt stop to check - had an exam to get to.
-
if you are interested in only sound, and not power gain or driveability then by all means it doesnt really matter what diameter exhaust you put on. but if you want to retain any decent sort of fuel economy and throttle response and harder acceleration through the rev range than I'd suggest no larger than 2.5"
