  1. alright guys i have been contacted by DKNE and i have explained the ban situation to them. to put it simply unsolicited spam advertising via PM is a violation of forum rules. however you guys are free to organise group buys with them (they are just not allowed to promote on the forum without registering as a trader). below is the information i have received regarding the questions i put up before. i suggest if someone wants to co-ordinate a group buy they are free to do so, provided that they conduct it within the regular group buy guidelines. DKNE has offered that a photo will be available upon request, a discounted price of one (1) $420 extractor posted to their doorstep and a $10 donation to the forum to establish good relations.
  2. alright i'll get straight into it. dkne has been banned as a forum user as i had complaints about spam advertising via pm (irrelevant to the product but says a lot about business ethic). thus they will not be posting any pictures on the forum - if any transactions are to occur i'm sorry to say it will have to happen outside the forum or run as a GB. since it appears that this is their first (or near first) attempt at headers i'd like to see: a sample product or at least a picture description on primary and secondary sizes design of the headers (collectors, etc.) quality of welding material option of outlet sizes any dyno graphs or something that proves there is a gain gaskets? the collector will not fit different styles of cats (some modification maybe needed - may as well get the exhaust shop to make one up) by no means a checklist, but something to think about. you could all be guinea cops for all you know. it seems to be that this is a product yet to be proven. i hold no bias to partsco but at least their product had been widely used and that's what sold me. it'd be great to have a local supplier, i suggest someone go do some research on their other products to see the quality of their workmanship for starters. if someone local is keen, go bite the bullet and purchase/inspect one - would hate to see 4-5 unhappy group buyers with a product no one had seen before.
  3. cuppas is right, getting the water pump done now will save you in labour costs in the long run. no point taking it all out again for something that could have been done initially.
  4. spot on with the ecu upgrade cara. that said, injector installation is a relatively easy job - it's not essential when making power. a good tuner should be able to tell you when they are maxing out, i believe that unless your current ones aren't up to the task then it's just a waste of money. i've seen rb25de's run nitrous without the need of injectors, just depends how much you intend on running and what kind of tune you have.
  5. bring the rohypnol??
  6. weekend!
  7. it's alot of money to sink into an engine to be honest... most important question: what do you want to do with the car? track? dyno? drag? street? that will determine which is the best option to go with
  8. if your goal is an R34 GTR dont bother with modding the current car. i doubt a transplant of any sort will be do-able on Ps
  9. should have dressed up as hamilton j/k
  10. ^^^^ LOL happy birthday dude
  11. just two hoses... one from engine and one to intake, same as DET
  12. yokohama A539s on the right side and a different tyre on the left side more snappy snaps please haha... love this section of the forum
  13. the most important mod will be your mechanic. everything else can go out the window. i suggest you less time thinking about what you want to do and spend it talking to the various workshops around your area. find someone who knows what their doing, knows what you want and how you want to achieve it. the best mechanic is one that gives you critical feedback. example. i go into a workshop and tell them i want a tough street car, bolt this T88 i bought and tune it. sure enough they go and do a clean job and tune it. have they done a good job? yes! are they a good? no! because a T88 would be completely useless for my application. find a good mechanic who's willing to sit down with you and work with you on a personal level. p.s. - compression can only be changed by taking the head off, which i'm pretty sure you are not doing. google compression ratios to get a better understanding of how engines work. from the list of mods you've posted above, they are simple bolt on mods. everything you should be able to do yourself except tune. i would definitely include cam shafts into the budget if you can.
  14. your... first point = optimise current setup second point = increase breathing, then optimise (tune) third point = increase capacity, then optimise unfortunately NA motors are restricted in their ability to gain power - there's not much 'variety' in terms of intake (i.e. turbo) choice which ultimately affects breathing ability. Don's twin intake mod is one idea to take on, need to think outside the square - which also is expensive. people get too wrapped up in 'chasing a number' in regards to power. another way to look at it is to make your current power more usable. imagine this, RB25 stock. lightened flywheel, lightened rims, single piece carbon fibre tailshaft, aftermarket diff (1-way, 1.5-way or 2-way) plus semi slicks. you have yourself very usable power!!
  15. i would guesstimate around that too. depends on the tuner's competency and the quality of fuel, with some cam shafts and timing i'd say you'd go even further. my opinion would be that you should do more headwork to utilize the most of the tune. not sure when NA injectors max out? i dare say the supporting fuel mods *may* not be required.
  16. now now guys... we don't want to look like a bunch of whinge bags. the thread has gone way off topic already. to put it simply if it's an obvious stir up i will have the post removed and they will be given a verbal warning to cease, if it continues then i will give them a proper one. haha knew you'd like that one! a disclaimer isn't required. someone coming into this section to purposely stir trouble wouldn't even give it a second look. Thanks mate I appreciate the comment. I believe it's important for us as import owners and NA owners to uphold an image. With the current P plate restrictions now in force more younger people are driving NA skylines with something to prove (i.e. burnouts, drags, etc.) I would not like for the NA guys (or any import owner for that matter) to be branded as immature young idiots who just got their first car. With that said, back on topic fellas!
  17. you said you did the sprint track earlier? what track were your posted times for then? zennon is pretty quick
  18. i propose a zero tolerance to any further NA vs. turbo discussion, except for those particular questions which genuinely stimulate discussion. put it simply many people come in here to stir us up or make themselves feel better. if everyone agrees, use the 'report button' and bring my attention to it - if i get enough complaints about it then i will have the post removed. this is the NA section of the forum - we like to keep threads on topic of course. this crap has repeated itself time and time again and we do not have to keep explaining ourselves likewise.
  19. usual culprits are oil and water. you probably have a leak? alcohol? possibly, it evaporates though
  20. i'm not restricted by p plate restriction. never have been and i didn't choose to buy a turbo variant purely because my car is predominantly used for driving to uni, shops, work, etc. it makes no difference if i had a gtr, gtst or gts it would still take me the same amount of time to get me where i'm going. i can guarantee you that a large portion of the turbo skyline drivers don't/can't even make use of a large chunk of their power. who cares if you make 300rwkw - you're still driving at 100km like i am and like any other barina out there. so really you're making 300rwkw because of your ego. however for that little portion that do any sort of motorsport, good on them. that said, my personal findings have been that a portion of these so called 'turbo drivers' can't even make use of their awesome turbo power. my track times at QR are an indication of that. having a turbo skyline does not make you a good driver, having more power than the other guy does not make you a better driver either. so for some of them it all comes down to materialistic wank 'i make 300rwkw woohoo my e-penis is big'. i'll reiterate that i am talking about the select portion of 'turbo drivers' all the gtst/gtr owners seem to think that the gts owners are green with envy - seriously who are they kidding? if the car does what you want it to do why deviate from that? if i wanted to carry lots of people i'd buy a mini bus, if i want to have a nice handling car which is decent on fuel, looks ok, has a wide variety of performance parts, responds well to mods and gets me from A to B then i'd buy an NA skyline (my choice 5 years ago). if anyone has a problem in other people's choice in cars, whether it be due to personal, financial or practical reasons then i suggest you keep it to yourselves. UWISSH! by your above statement you are implying non turbo drivers are dumb. can you clarify this further and if so, i expect an apology. you WILL NOT discriminate! be careful with your wording please.
  21. sounds like pretty much what i've told people from day one. although i don't agree with the last line. power wise you'll make more power with the GTR, but money wise you're likely to spend the same kind of dosh (however you have a more expensive initial outlay with the GTR). that said the NA car will sound, feel and be a better car (personal preference) - and no one can take that away from you. if you want power go a 2JZ or a 1UZFE.
  22. was that for me? have i missed something????
  23. 9000rpm?? have you done any block work/balancing? excellent thread - will be keeping a close eye on this
