  1. summed up nicely in the last paragraph. i reckon kimi gets double disadvantaged. not only does he not get points to compete with the others for championship, but also is unable to capitalise on louise not getting points and widen the gap between the two. not entirely sure why rosberg is penalised so harshly though as i personally think that he wouldn't have contributed much (if at all) to louise's car not being able to continue racing. their statement even confirms that (see underlined). that is of course assuming the penalty was given due to destroying someone else's car. source: formula1.com "all of the sudden they stopped" quite the innocent bystander isn't he, makes it sound like kimi slammed on the brakes or something
  2. yeah poor nick... good on him for being a team player though.
  3. love watching teh cars slide around the crappy circuit without traction control. can notice who the good consistent drivers are.
  4. awesome move by massa!!!!
  5. no dramas Dunc. yeah perfect that we have tomorrow off! his attitude shits me! even though he was in the wrong he can't even admit complete fault. even manages to throw in a mention that he was 'in front'
  6. me, not roy. shame for raikkonen. hami is a good driver but too many rookie mistakes it seems.
  7. crap... i just went to the bathroom and missed out. what happened??
  8. i bet piquet has a few skid stains
  9. i've done the replacement (with a working second hand unit). it's a 3~4 hr job to take the dash out and maybe another 2~3 hrs to put it all back together. might take longer if you're logging where each bolt goes. easy job but very very time consuming.
  10. i suggest you guys make a decision quick smart about which buy you are going to go with. if you want to continue with Hesh's buy then i suggest you set it in stone with him as he is pulling the hard yards into organizing the quotes. however i do not/would not like to see anyone bail at the last minute and ruin the agreements for everyone else. so dkne or partsco and make your choice as your decision will affect the pricing other participants get.
  11. i know... australia shafted once again... lucky tomorrow is a public holiday
  12. excellent... love P1s and that is looooow... noice
  13. actually.. i did find the prices in a separate PM. although the request for the overseas product does worry me a little.
  14. i have not received anything except a request from DKNE for details and photos for partsco's extractors. postage wise, i doubt you'd save anything on a 'single' postage unless it was sent to the same address. even then with bulky items as these they are mostly posted individually unless you were able to get a pallet/container's worth.
  15. what does me being a mod have to do with anything? i cant make a personal comment or contribute to the discussion because of my tag? also mind your language, that's not as a mod but as another person you would normally speak to. all i'm saying is if you are unhappy with how GM/Holden/HSV run their business, then maybe bring it up with them. bitching about issues with peak oil, etc. here and not being proactive about it is equally as bad in my personal opinion. i think it's well clear that you don't agree what's gone into it. neither do i but at the end of the day they are running a business and if they can make a profit out of it then why not?
  16. maybe it's something to bring up with GM Adam? i wouldn't buy it, but i'd definitely thrash the hell out of it if given the chance
  17. i have received the PM also. i would ask everyone to er on the side of caution as they have only just recently signed up.

    Omg Wtf!

    lmao island boy.. happy days
  19. nice to see this thread being used yes you do use the original one as a template. however, modification to the stencil will be required depending on how thick your mdf will be. as you can see from one of my photos the edge that meets the rear windshield will need some sanding/sloping. the thicker the mdf the more you'll need to sand back.
  20. why are you asking these questions when you have forged pistons??? if it's been rebuilt it should have been done the first time and done correctly. the formula for any well powered NA motor is: quality of fuel + compression ratio + intake and exhaust efficiency + tune = fuel pump and a reg will supply the fuel, but any power increase would be negligible. lighter head gasket? i've never heard of one of those. if it's a thinner head gasket then you'd be looking into compression ratios. a cam(shaft) will increase your motor's ability to breath, if you're chasing more 'power' at the cost of driveability - then i say rev the thing right out. here's what you do: - find a good tuner - find a good mechanic - sit down with both of them and nut out what application you are using the car for and adjust the compression ratio/fuel quality availability to suit - tear the entire motor down - forged rods - replace forged pistons if need be to achieve desired CR - skim the block or head if need be - port and polish the hell out of the head - deshroud the valve ports, oversize the valves, upgrade valve springs - regrind/new camshaft to suit tune/application + cam gear - balance bottom end as an entire package (ati/ross tuffbond balancer, crank, rods, pistons, flywheel) & knifeblade the crank as much as you can. lighten wherever and whatever you can - good quality sparkers, injectors, fuel system. - motec/autronic/pentium 4/etc. take your pick - custom tune length headers - tune tune tune tune tune - have a deep wallet - nitrous/forced induction problem is you will need revs to make power, and with revs comes wear and wear = longevity. i will leave this open in the meantime, however i suggest you try to search around the forums and see what everyone else does for their RBs and see what you can apply to your motor. the principals are the same, however the characteristics are not. try searching for a forum more specific to your car for more detailed responses. 135 at the wheels is impressive. good luck!! p.s. - is the twin cam head conversion do-able? might be something to look into
