it's more of a DIY, but I have provided a link to the NA modification thread. Nice write up!
-
nice find!! was just thinking that it wasn't right from the picture.
-
not without a few spun bearings/oil issues i'm sure with any amount of money it is achievable. i was merely talking with a bit of tongue in cheek in regards to the 'average aussie family car'.
-
haha... i think you guys have mis-read my interpretation. i was just stating that the ability for the windsor svo or the aurora chev engines to be able to rev flat out for 1000km is amazing. i know the RBs ran bathurst back in the day - but i very much doubt they will be able to run at the same power levels for the same amount of time for the same amount of distance. the holdens and fords take much more abuse than the RBs
-
although pushrod bagging aside, i'd like to see an RB motor run bathurst 1000
-
that's a bummer Rach, i really like my low end response and torque

no dramas alex, its just that not everyone owns an R34 so not everyone will know what it is exactly you are referring to. i have never seen that little tube on any R32 or R33 - but would be able to have made an educated guess on what it might be/might do depending on where it lead. i will close the topic for you. cheers eug

i like it when people say that they've searched and yielded no results. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ls....html&hl=v8 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...html&hl=LS1 (Same thread Cris found also) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...html&hl=LS1 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...html&hl=LS1 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/V8...html&hl=LS1 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gt...html&hl=LS1 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ls...html&hl=LS1 and here's other V8 (non LS1) threads http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ti....html&hl=v8 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Vh....html&hl=v8 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Vh....html&hl=v8 i said at least minimum $15k, that is if you have access to an engineering workshop and a mechanic who knows his wiring. i don't know how mechanically minded you are but i personally would close to double that budget. certainly weeds out the honest ones
-
local metal/pipe/exhaust shop should be able to do it. it's a steel/metal pipe, not rocket science.
-
try telling that to all the spun big ends to be honest, i rate the LS# motors... its just a shame they're all die hards and still engineer them with pushrods.

i have made the appropriate edits in the above post... it's funny seeing people who know about something without even knowing the correct terminology or even how to spell. hardly makes the information provided seem credible and will only confuse others from my personal point of view. while this isn't a direct attack on (00)SKYLINE(00) i am merely using him/her as an example to inform others of the correct wording for future reference, more accurate search results and to prevent confusion with new forum members. cheers eug p.s. - the thread will remain open, but the ideology that a silencer will increase power is not entirely correct. in the instance of an excessively large exhaust you will regain the response lost by installing a silencer into said excessively large exhaust. however on a well suited exhaust with efficient volumetric vacuum/scavenging characteristics (2.0" ~ 2.5") installing a silencer will more than likely create back pressure, and thus decreasing the efficiency of the exhaust. just remember, back pressure is bad - you do not want it. increasing the volumetric efficiency of an exhaust will decrease back pressure.

check the sticky any issues in regards to this pm me. cheers eug

dont think the sensors on an FJ are compatible... so no best to search on some DJ20/R30 specific forums
-
i see 5 studs and a boost gauge but my god, do you drive her that low all the time!!!!?
-
what is it your asking exactly? the best people to ask would have to be the guys that twined the drift R34 or the LS1 R33. one of my close mates (NA_R33) built the supercharged V8 R33 (search the forum), by going off his experiences you will be funding and doing most of the R&D on your own. there won't be many people to help you, in fact you should be telling us not asking us. no one is going to be able to spoon feed you or provide you with a set formula/instructions on what to do/not to do. price wise, i'm going to pull out a rough guesstimate at 15K minimum. good luck eug

Oil / Water Temp & Fuel/air Ratio Gauges
Eug replied to UNR33L's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
NA and turbo stuff is really not that different, general questions do not really need to be asked in the NA section when the same rule applies across the board. a search in the DIY or general maintenance section should bring up a few DIY instructions. -
That is always one of the issues when cold feeding the intake. A guy I know just blew his turbo by having the pod filter mounted low in the wheel arch area, no rain or water. Just excessive amounts of dust, be warned that you will need to check your filter more regularly than others. The only way to avoid water is to create an "S" bend rather than the conventional 90 degree "L" bend. That should fix the issue.

threads merged.

nice to see some DIY. that hole looks like my handy work from the weekend, poor girl hope she got home okay. p.s. do some before and after temperature readings, that will be the real test! also avoid water puddles

too much to read but dooooo eeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
