  1. any sort of trigger will do. light switch, missle switch, the horn on your steering wheel, etc.
  2. i see what your saying and you do make a point, but the intake chamber is always filled with air/nitrous. i would think that as cylinders 3 and 4 are on their intake stroke - it provides the most direct path from the two intake pipes. who knows, it's all just speculation on our parts without some flow bench testing. oh understandable - but your clutch is coming out anyway, may as well fark it good and proper!
  3. if that's the case then i take back my comment and offer my apologies. very often we get people in here who preach 'turbo'. reading your post in different light, i agree - that would be a test to try out. however where do you draw the line in terms of comparison? same power output or same amout of money spent? with what you said, going head to head with a mild GTSt/GTT would be evenly matched - driver pending.
  4. why? i don't like the smug tone of your post. race your car against an F430, see how it goes. this is the naturally aspirated section and more specifically cara's thread about her nitrous progress... please keep it on topic.

    Coby Extractors

right, this is now closed. the order has been drawn up and is ready to send. once GTR.2NV's payment has cleared (monday/tuesday), the order will be placed and the transfer made. expect up to a week for the funds to clear to them in new zealand and then the waiting game begins. thanks for your patience
  6. i think mark was talking about the 'copy' drifteks. not the ones you have
  7. yeah 7.6kg is amazingly light. they do look like the Bee*R, but i think Bee*R copied the lmgt4????? maybe? i havent tried the wheel alignment system properly to be honest, it's pretty much a no brainer - it's simple physics there's really not much margin for error unless you're a complete idiot. won't be doing track days for a while, i'm in the final stint of my honours at uni - will be graduating mid 2008, so it's one of those times where you buckle down and just do it. if i get these rims, i'll be throwing on some semi slicks, with the wheel alignment setup and my camber/castor bushes i'll be looking at shaving off another 3-5 seconds hopefully. watch out ianb
  8. screw graphs... 1/4 mile times would be the real test!
  9. no true, he doesn't sell crap stuff - but he does put a large mark up on the rims he gets. mostly from the yahoo auctions i believe. yeah i was after some light rims, my sparcos are light - and these lm gt4s are lighter again 7.6kg each!! in negotiations with the seller, should get an answer by tomorrow night. hopefully be able to reduce some weight and get more response.
  10. hey there, just got home from work. i've been following thuy's thread - some are nice, but out of my budget for racing rims. CE28Ns are another nice one... XD9s are alright, but i prefer them on a more aggressive S15 type car. doriteks = drifteks? i have read conflicting reports about them clearing the bigger sumitomo brakes, and plus i dont like seeing the other empty stud holes. those rims you posted have some wierd spoke/offset/dish pattern. no way in hell that rim would fit big brakes under it.
  11. lm gt4 correct noice... thats what i want to hear they are a tasty rim too. another favorite are the ssr professors, rare'ish in 4stud. wish they made the do-luck double6 in 4 stud.
  12. oops, thought we were talking about the front guards. although, there is a guy around these parts driving around with genuine rear GTR guards on his GTSt. had it cut at the c-pillar too, big job. GTSt rear quarters are joined at the c-pillar too, seen a fresh one from nissan at the workshop before.
  13. it will fit, but the gtst rotor is much larger in diameter and you wont end up using the entire surface of the brake pad. hybridizing means mix and match, use NA brake lines with turbo calipers. you can pick up a bleed kit from supercheap auto/repco
  14. well you only need to look to see the stud type, you however would need to take the rims off to see if the rotors had been re-drilled. all turbo skylines have 5 stud hubs correct, the only exception to NA is the R34. it's more than sufficient for a short term fix, i run this setup for track work! any dude with a bench drill can do it, best to get a brake guy to do it as a precaution as they would do this kinda stuff everyday. what you have outlined is correct. you may need to massage the dust plates back to accomodate for a thicker rotor, i know i did. depends on what rotors you use, not a hard job. a hammer/mallat does the trick. the new calipers will bolt up to the existing caliper mounts. double check the banjo bolts are the same, you might be able to get away with hybridizing the brake lines to the new calipers. i didn't go down this path as i went for braided lines. another thing to remember is to have plenty of brake fluid, brake bleed kit, new pads for the new calipers and some time and patience.
  15. legal - nope, technically anything you do to the car outside from factory is illegal. will you get away with it? most probably, unless you take the rims off you wont know that they've been re-drilled. unless you have a cluey officer (which are far and few between) who notices 4 studs and turbo brakes.
  16. cheapest would be to redrill the gtst rotors to 4 stud and whack everything together.
  17. hey guys, sorry but i have to say this. while most of you here are sitting around talking about which filter makes the best woosh woosh sound, the guys in the force induced section are discussing rear housing sizes, how to get more power, ideal set ups, best compromise, etc. etc. etc. this thread (and the turbo timer thread) has easily gone over to two pages; whilst cara's thread on nitrous, extractors, clutches, dyno graphs, etc struggle to make even the first page. this is what sets them apart from us - with threads like 'noise of pod filter' doing so well, it's understandable why people look down upon these things. some food for thought, by all means continue with the thread - just my 2c
  18. or you could just put on GTR panels like everyone else does.
  19. we know who to blame for the water shortage now
  20. i like that dark blue. it still looks stock to not attract attention, but different enough for one to take notice.
  21. i dont really get much of a choice in the 4 stud pattern, they are made in limited numbers. plus my car is black... so bronze suits??
  22. thoughts??
  23. you're right... it's more shane like to beg ... to get any sort of action
  24. niggah plueaze....
  25. waddup kaaarnt. gotta durrie?
