  1. keep them legal too please. private property, track and circuit stuff is fine. no car parks, traffic lights and/or street signs.
  2. please do it in the want to buy section. at this stage i'm only allowing the sale of NA specific parts just to give others a bit of a help. otherwise we'll have to create an entire classified sub forum for NA parts and i dont really want to do that.
  3. considering i asked for a ball park $8K for a stock setup i think you will pretty much get that. if you are serious and really have the cash to go then give me a call and we can work something out - i may throw in the brakes and sparcos. stock suspension, stock seats, basic sound system, take the safc out, stock swaybars, no strut braces, stock extractors, etc.
  4. emanage is a piggy back, best source of info to check these types of questions is to google emanage. you should be able to find a manual or some sort to confirm if it is or isnt a piggy back
  5. gained about 5-10kW, wasn't a power tune though. basically to clean up air fuel ratios If you want it stock I might consider it, otherwise you're about $7-8K short mate.
  6. depends on how hardcore you wish to go? if you're looking for a clean up because you're running a little rich or just want the car to run a little smoother/more economical then i'd say go for the SAFC. if you have some plans a little later down the track then fork out for a replacement ecu and not a piggy back system.
  7. there are quite a few variables involved, power to weight (mentioned earlier). traction, specifics on your build will determine drivability also.
  8. that sounds like a brilliant idea!
  9. try the suspension section, you'll get far more responses. good luck with it
  10. next time state a price and all the details, just because it is out of the for sale section does not mean you get to dis-regard these rules. i will let the for sale stuff slide only if you meet me half way.
  11. ok let me rephrase that, the swap in ecu's will not work effectively. that's not to say that they won't work. jrm is correct, the different head design, VCT, twin feed intake on the NEO, etc. must have some sort of effect. to put it simply the software will not match the hardware - and although it may work, it might not be working efficiently or have some detrimental effect. however that said, i've never tried it so there may be positive gains to be had. i would say that it'd be much cheaper to re-chip with dr. drift or the likes.
  12. all the variants of the rb25de in the R32, R33 and R34 are physically different so i would assume that there would be differences in their maps. swapping ecu's will not work
  13. cleaning up AFRs is always good, especially when using different octane fuel (japan -> aust). all i'm saying is don't expect a massive jump in power because of it.
  14. i agree Cara, most people just do it once to get it out of their system. Other than that the only 'logical' reason I can see is to warm up those tyres prior to launching.
  15. After having a look at Ashneel's link, I suggest everyone take due care in what they proceed to type in this part of the forum. This goes for you Luckiee and anyone else replying.
  16. smoke = illegal there are no ifs, buts or whats about it. trying to make smoke is trying to do a burn out, so i don't see how you are 'justifying' what you are doing is okay. that said, if you are doing it at the 'drag strip' to warm up your tyres then that is a different story. they water down the starting line for you to smoke your tyres that little bit easier. i suggest a left foot brake and right foot throttle and control the braking so that it engages the front tyres but still allows the rears to spin. turn off snow mode if you have it (auto). cheers eug
  17. unfortunately on an NA system you are really only going to see noticeable gains with some form of ecu/piggy back management when you start improving the breathing/exhausting efficiency of the entire system. you can tweak settings like fuel, timing, AFRs, etc. but the major differences will be seen once you increase air intake, exhaust efficiency, compression, etc. until then all you really can do is 'clean-up' your current tune. turbos respond alot better to tuning, because you can play around with boost pressure, temperature, timing of boost, etc.
  18. ok this thread is going down hill... 1) no illegal talk 2) please do these things on the track 3) weakness 4) locked, if another thread like this pops up you will be warned.
  19. if both wheels spin you have an lsd... check to see if you leave some 11s
  20. go for a test drive, that way you will have a feel for what kind of quality and condition to expect for your dollar. go see both dealers and private sellers as they will sell cars of varying quality and price. click on my signature for a link to the car that i'm selling, this might give you a little perspective on what may be available on the 2nd hand market.
