  1. to help us help you, we'll need a few answers to some questions. the exhaust will always be hot, what do you mean by 'too hot to touch'? with your hand? what do you mean by 'can be heard cooling down'? describe the sound. is it a catback exhaust? full system exhaust? mild steel? titanium? stainless steel? un-burnt fuel will give a rich, overfuelling exhaust smell. eug
  2. nice... who's doing the work for you? (PM if you don't want to name the workshop) $70? depends on the distance travelled of course!
  3. what is the 1/2 cut from? RB25DET? fabricate custom mounts? i suppose if you don't want to swap the stuff out
  4. 2" would be my pick of choice for a 1.8L, unless you intend on seeing high rpm regularly.
  5. maybe chaos, charly and owned were our glue?
  6. can we have the old days back?
  7. will have to agree with you there john... although for what the two cars are, family orientated sports sedan/coupe they are quite cool... just not worth the money from a purely performance factor. that would be awesome, and sound totally horny. bragging rights would be well off the scale. but 30K for a 12second pass is a poor return.
  8. yeah, we've got Queensla.... oh never mind :laughing-smiley-014:
  9. the company is there, and it answers all your questions. you're more than welcome to conduct your own business with them. or if you opt to go custom like cara, then by all means - she's suggested an exhaust shop as well. personally with things like these, i prefer to go with tried and proven products with R&D behind them, than some custom join pipes together kinda thing.
  10. i'm going to be blunt and rude here... but horseshit. i full well know the info is there, because i put it there, and i organized the group buy for them. i collated the info on them, the prices, the who, the where, the pros and cons, and my dyno results. it's there. if you can't be arsed searching for it, then i can't be arsed giving you the answer you want and need. again, info is readily available
  11. got the skyline through SVi, Mick is really friendly, helpful and adds that personal touch/relationship to conversations/purchases. he's helped me with follow ups post-sale, and gave honest opinions and helped explorered options pre-sale.
  12. try a search buddy. people dont do things because they dont do anything.
  13. you should always bleed/flush new fluid with a new change in pads anyway
  14. i have a set (4) of stock R33 NA alloy rims sitting around, if your interested?
  15. i have a 1994 R33 GTS25 and 2002 2.5L RS Impreza... both cars are totally worlds apart, the skyline has a no expenses spared track suspension setup (brakes, swaybars, shocks, springs, lockbar, bushes, strut braces, etc). it is a fun car that i actually take to the track and enjoy thrashing - it's a real drivers car i'd say. the Impreza only has a catback exhaust. the extra 500cc makes it heaps punchier than a mate's wrx, and i am quite confident that it would definitely hold its own, if not beat the wrx through the tight corners of a mountain. the RS isn't as revvy as the skyline, and is more of a punchy everday car. like john said, you really can't beat the 4wd system. it could do with bigger brakes though. it has 4 doors, standard with bucket seats and is 8 years newer than the skyline so they are hardly comparable. you do pay more for the 2.5L versions than the RX/GX 2.0L ones.
  16. at least he bboy wannabes wont have daddy buying them a new gtr
  17. sounds like a regular cold air feed to me. it's called restrictions and emissions
  18. there have been instances where a lightened flywheel made you slower in drag racing, revs drop too quickly between gear shifts. it's a compromise and depending on the application, some pluses outweigh some negatives

title of the thread is misleading
  20. only the RB25DE (from the R32) didn't come with VCT. and the only R33 i am 99% sure which doesnt have VCT are the ones equipped with RB20 non turbo motors. the VCT solenoid plug is on the intake side near cylinder one
  21. as always, thanks for putting in your personal time and effort for organizing it
  22. kiss and make up
