can you scan up a timeslip?

what VQ is that? wait... a VG isnt it?

love the new datto... the 240 looks pretty sweet too

agree with technicality of the track. i've never raced it, but i like the fact that it's a high speed track, and like you said with the off camber corners and varied elevation. definitely looks like it requires a bit more driver input and concentration than QR = fun! personally think that QR is a fairly HP dependent track, where time is easily made by making more power. i have 300rwkw... i'm cool yeah?* sweet! QR is the only track around. darlington park has been shut down, and the next one is morgan park (in warwick!) *may or may not be true... most likely the later.

agree with the softness... i'd like to see abit of montoya action

i did dyno runs back to back between, pod vs. pod/heatshield vs. airbox if you're going to have a pod filter on street car then have a heatshield with a cold air intake - this is especially vital. sitting in traffic and under 60kmph where there's hardly air flow into the engine bay will mean you're just sucking up hot air (which takes up more space than cold air). i have gone back to the standard airbox... minimal, if any difference between a CAI + pod + heatshield, and the cost factor too. the money you spend on setting up the pod can be spent on buying a nismo, pipercross, k&n panel filter for cheaper... and you're still ahead

dude, that's hot!

nice one glenn... should be a fun day

i think if you mess around with the intake cam gear you lose vct, or the adjustable gear becomes redundant as it's variable anyway. better clear it up with nengun prior to purchase, they have been known to send wrong items before! the idea behind upgrading a cam shaft is to increase lift and duration of the valves, saying that they are open bigger and for longer. oversizing the valves will make more use of that, as they are opening bigger again. this allows for more of the gases to be drawn in/expelled from the combustion chamber quicker. port and polish, again, you have more gases going in and out, and making the head flow better will make the best use of that. think of it as an exhaust system, you're simply making it flow better and getting rid of restrictions. price it all up and compare it to an RB26 head, they flow better again. speak with your mechanic, look into the quenching effects, thinnest head gasket possible, check for valve clearance, and skim as much as possible off the block and the head - whilst running on 98 RON. if it's going turbo, then i wouldn't entirely be phased by port and polishing, valves etc. (they are done by hardcore turbo guys who are looking for the last 20-30kw), but in an NA situation you ideally want to get rid of as much restriction to the air/gas as possible. hope that helps

Rb25de Vct Performance Modifications

spot on. you're going to want knifeblade the crank, balance the bottom end, rods, pistons, better bearings, ati balancer, etc. etc. there's more but i can't be mished remembering it. -
haha, i looked at them before and they are tempting! if you don't care for a lumpy idle then get the type b, that will give you your high rpm powerband. look into cam shafts which will maintain vct, you may only need the exhaust cam gear only too my personal advice you'll need to break your modification down into stages. at the moment you have your rb25, so you can work the head while keeping it 2.5L. this should include: cam gears ecu port and polish oversized valves? upgraded valve and valve springs they are the kind of mods you should do with the head off, and will make the most of the higher lift and longer duration. drive it around for a year or so. this minimises the time you are off the road, and allows you to work on it progressively rather than all in one go. then when you get more cash, take it completely apart and work on the 3L block.

faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark they went quick!

hahaha... like that time you helped out a fellow forum member, who shall remain nameless, but let him stay at your place. wish you well cyrus... don't be a stranger

don't take this the wrong way, but all that to achieve 300rwkw and not to really use it? like you said, there's a valid reason: owning too many cars and hardly driving it. and i'm speaking generally here; but doesn't anyone plan things anymore? why i want the skyline? what i want to do with the skyline? how am i going to achieve the above? just seems a shame that's all. alot of hard work and no enjoyment.

Time for NA Power, the wait is over.....

he makes it all sound so easy doesn't he? i've grown up with this car and seen everything john has done to it, there's been a lot of R&D, money, time and effort put into it. easily competing with the top dollar dragsters in australia with a two man team (john & mechanic) and with a realistic budget! good luck with 9s dude, will be there when you do! -

mine sees 7000 regularly at QR, it tends to taper off around 6800ish anyway 4500-6500 is usually about the thick of it for me, very thick and chunky through there. i agree, could do with abit of torque, but at the end of the day it's a 2500cc motor. you'll need cubes for torque. the rb is a fairly revvy motor, and i personally think that's what makes it fun. with regards to 'under 3000rpm is terrible' - the high gearing and ratios have something to do with it, especially when you are just cruising around - i have no dramas getting a decent progressive punch 1st and 2nd on the motorkhana and skidpan. -

can someone post a picture about this back window? what's so special about it? i always thought, it was to prevent children and pets from hanging out of the window. -
true, not saying everyone should attend every event. any sort of reasonably half arsed effort from each member should get the ball rolling for the club in terms of moving on to bigger and better things. just trying to gee these ricers up, that's all they probably won't even bother clicking this thread to read it anyway.

QLD SAUers are a bunch of carpark cruisers. all the photoshoot, coffee meet ups, dyno day events/threads gets loads of attendance/response/views, but to save a historic race track gets next to nothing. it's the same group time and time again attending the QR time attack events, skidpans, street sprints, and what not. where have all the 300rwkw, hks hypermax, gt wing, light weight volk racers gone? i'll make my best attempts to be there work pending!
