  1. nice one mud, it was for sale for a while
  2. open the bonnet, it's on the right hand side of the motor. there should be 6 pipes branching together. i think MV automatics possibly does an exchange program. many people have sent their valve bodies down to him to get work done. my mate has should be recieving his auto drag box from the same guys (and we live up in queensland). each to their own, if you search around you might find someone who can do the job locally. research around. hope that helps
  3. haha yeah the red stuff does look quite dodgy eh. it's just gasket glue... should melt away or disappear in due time. those are the coby extractors with hp coating on ignuz's car... hp coated shiny'ness
  4. cris: the term you are looking for is volumetric vacuum. where the gases being expelled causes a plunging effect and continuously draws out the new exhausts gases. nice explanation there though. kel: 2.5" extractors probably means your join pipe, primary and secondary pipe sizes play a vital role as well. try a search, most of the stuff has been covered in and around the forums and in depth as well. try searching for mv automatics (mike, i believe his name is). he does the valve body upgrades hackerx mentioned, basically makes it shift harder and faster. if you dont know that "the lot" is, i suggest you try reading around the internet to get a feel for the basic fundamentals on how an engine works and the components involved. what i would guess cris means with "the lot"; would be extractors, catalytic converter, cat back exhaust going to the muffler/cannon. the concept is simple, air goes in, fuel is added, spark occurs and an explosion occurs, the gases from the explosion are expelled through an exhaust system. try to visualize the process and pin point where what happens, when and where. what a place to start by opening the hood of your car and trying to follow the path i mentioned before. start at the intake and go from there. cheers
  5. 2005 buddy
  6. awww... piss off john no way!
  7. i was being sarcastic... if you actually read the thread and the link i posted i'm sure you'll find your answer.
  8. sit down and speak with the tuner... they might have different ways of doing it. they should do it...
  9. heya - i've had the parcel shelf out many times and am still not quite sure about your L connector (where abouts is it? left? right? middle?) i've found water dripping down my wiper motor, so i'm quite positive it's coming from there... will try to check out what you're on about though - certainly no harm in checking.
  10. really?!??! that's interesting... might go get the fibreglass repacked in my exhaust and see if that helps thanks for that Cris
  11. count me in what club is this with? and how often do you run events?
  12. i think the gains if any are quite marginal... there's more to be had by spending the money on other areas of adjustment. that said, the wank factor of having a floor brace is cool it's like saying i'm a hardcore racer with the "roll cage" which does nothing, but people don't know that
  13. its definitely the seal... i went to bunnings and picked up some plumbing rubber seals and have given that a go... it's dodgy but lets hope it works
  14. i'd be interested
  15. just realised i mistook you for someone else... mish...
  16. thought i was onto something there... mish
  17. can you use em as a harness restraint?
  18. i estimate closer to 15K+ up and running. there would definitely be loads of R&D and dyno time to incorporate for us plebs that cant do things on the free/cheap there's just so many combos i'd like to try and do... R32/240Z/260Z with RB30DE high comp (track/motorkhana) stripped out and caged R32 GTS4 with RB25DET from a stagea + manual conversion (track weapon) R33 non turbo motor (all rounder, track, street, drag) *something which i'd like to get started on by next year* and that's just the play toys... my brother just bought a subaru, and i'm in love with how easy it is to drive fast in the corners with them. am definitely keen to see how an evo handles. they are so cheap, reliable and easy to go fast in compared to a gtr/skyline. with most things balancing priorities, costs and reliabilities is a big factor - and the skyline is simply not up high in the list, they are getting on in the years and things are getting worn and need to be replaced. there are alot of purists, but only the wise know when it's time to move on to bigger and better things. shall see in due time i suppose... in the mean time like you said, if you can do it and want to do it, then go for it!
  19. anyone???
  20. hahaha... far from a sheep! i know the motor you are talking about; skit_r31's motor, which was originally don's used in salt lake high speed runs. the problem i am facing is this; that if i build it - it will be done first time and done first time right. that means, custom hypeuretic (sp?) pistons/forged pistons, forged rods, rb26 head, ported and polished, oversized valves, strengthed valve springs, individual throttle bodies, i would most definitely be looking at 11:1 compression at least and would even try going to 11.5 or even 12:1. some big lumpy cams, and the whole she-bang with a microtech or d-jetro pfc, etc etc. and a redline of something insane 10k rpm??? who knows. no idea what kinda power i'd be looking at, 200-250rwkw? a motor which will sound pure sex, and a car which i can't even drive to the shops. i would love to do it, maybe when i get time and money. there's also not very much point in putting it into a skyline as the biggest disadvantage would be the weight factor. a 240/260z would be ideal... old school with a bit of new school. as to boring it out, you can a little... some guys are running an RB31 with oversized pistons. in the mean time i have another plan which will yield some crazy NA power. as to blowing away RB20DETs, here's me mixing it up with some RB25DETs... even beat a GTR time! who says you need a turbo (or two) to go fast! and before all them come in here whinging about turbo beats all, let me just make it clear that there's more to going fast than just outright power; skill and suspension setup contribute as well, and i have proven that! all these narrow minded dyno queens are doing is making up for lack of driver skill.
  21. nice to see you back in action
