  1. compared to what? it's definately better than nothing
  2. ahahaha... far from pouting. if anything i would like a combination of both - been trying to get some motorkhanas /skidpans happening with sau qld for a while. i enquired with the MG club and Alfa Romeo club into doing hill climbs at Mt. Cotton and they politely said that they preferred a particular type of car for their club. we've just had one up at gympie (first in like 1.5 years???) and it was quite fun. what i'm getting at is that i'd prefer one club to be able to do a range of activities rather than alienate myself to each particular club for each particular event. it's more a communal thing and the challenge of competing with other people with the same car and level of modifications to be able to really compare and brag.
  3. yes duncan ok you are the super aguri pioneer... that said they've always had some promise, but were always the underdog coming in to F1. it's basically like the gtr vs. ferrari (jdm vs. euro) battle we have; but on a more professional level. something that will require time for people to catch on.
  4. yeah i would be keen if SAU QLD ever got back into cams licensing, wouldn't mind giving the gatton street sprints a go as well. i just can't justify paying for one club for social events (dyno, bbq, etc), and another club (SAU NSW? VIC?) for racing... not to mention QR requires an AASA license... that's like $200 and i'm not even racing yet.
  5. someone mentioned they are water to air intercoolers - which makes sense
  6. Pretty cool clip, for any engine... I was always under the impression that it was a twin V8 styled motor. but the vid only shows a zig-zag pattern of 6 cylinders per bank (is that the correct terminology?). I'm guessing the other 4 will be made where the block is attached onto the robot arm mechanism. not much meat between each cylinder either. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/14/video-b...e-being-milled/ the snails are tiny as, and i dont see how the matté black intercooler (with the BUGATTI logo on it) can work efficiently covered up? EDIT: water to air intercoolers?
  7. sorry i mis-read that as his legs coming out of the monocoque... but gosh you're right - the last 2 pics have them right there dangling in full view!!! nice pics!
  8. i dont see his legs anywhere near coming out of the monocoque
  9. awesome overtaking from sato...nice to see super aguri step up a notch lovin the key ring
  10. does it protrude past the rear guards?
  11. now that is a tasty mod...
  12. any sort of angle'd component on the car will provide downforce, nothing really special there. the main question is - is it an improvement for street? - will you require that extra downforce (which converts to traction) on the street? - increase/decrease in fuel economy? i suppose in your case, you can now fine tune to suit your track settings (where fuel is negligible), and see some solid performance results. isnt that the purpose of a wing? performance - or have ricer's just lost the plot? i guess i'm just speaking out of my arse (and setting some context for discussion) and stating what people already know. interesting results none the less; good to see some mythbusting type work going on. EDIT: here's an after thought - are you able to log or graph the results? maybe try a drag style launch from 0km/h to xxxkm/h and see if there are improvements in 1/4 mile. (although from the data you currently have it looks like it'll be minimal, since by the time you are going 80km/hr traction isnt much of an issue).` also would be nice to see power/torque/whatever vs. downforce to find some optimality
  13. while i am in the same boat as both of you... i wouldn't turn down a s2000 if mom & dad wanted to buy me one.
  14. i was quoted $1000-1200 about 2 years ago... didn't give it a second thought.
  15. alright... who wants to touch me? the ones i've pictured ARE the active-k tail lights although their site doesn't show their company anymore. edit: stupid computer - which i think means they arent in business anymore. - i remember a mob in melbourne used to sell them (it was an s13/14 drift orientated site, that also sold the r324 bee*r kits) - for the life of me i cant remember the name... shit
