  1. not true, biggest is not always best. at high track speeds the cooler will do it's job too well and thus your oil will be very close to ambient temp - totally outside it's efficient lubrication range. as above stated a 12 row is sufficient, dare i say even a small 9 row will do the trick. if it runs too cool, you can always block half of the cooler off using cardboard or something.
  2. i will second the suspension upgrades. i have run times equal or better to some gtr and some gtst drivers out at QR. i am by no means a good driver and the drivers of the turbo models aren't spectacular either, but it illustrates the point that simply having a high powered car does not make you into an instant schumacher (i just say that because everyone knows his name, i would have preferred montoya or alonso)
  3. hmmm.... trumpetty goodness
  4. that's one hot s15
  5. all depends on your drive, if you're dumping the clutch from the rev limiter constantly and side stepping the clutch during changes then don't expect anything to last long.
  6. everyone play nice this includes you matt, this isn't the first time you've stirred a thread in this section. while i agree with some of the stuff you say at times, i do not agree with the manner you execute it.
  7. one is hydraulic and one a electric system no??
  8. agreed Cara. i'll let it run for a bit then close her in a few days
  9. haha yeah mate, she had loads of fun. just started driving herself but is super keen to get onto the skidpan
  10. nice work on the clarification Rach! also another thing i should point out is not to confuse 4WD (4 wheel drive) with 4WS (4 wheel steer).
  11. ease up on the bashing fellas... he f**ked up, he knows he f**ked up and admitted to it. so lets leave it at that hey.
  12. im aroused!!
  13. well i'm asking as i thought you got your answer? actually reading back to your first post you had no real question to begin with. it just seems like you are floating ideas around. you want a gtr block on your sump with a gt35 and upgraded pistons. i don't see a problem with that, as i said before how deep are your pockets. give money to that company you wanted to build it and get them to do it, it's fairly straight forward. if that company/workshop is any good it's them you should be asking the questions and they will give you feedback as to what's feasible and practical and what's not. and can i just ask what in the world do you need 300-400awkw for??? that's more in the league of mark/russ's gtr and they do some serious timeattack, targa, street circuits, etc.
  14. i sure as hope you're not intending to just slap on the gt35... a highmount like that wont last long on a stock bottom. i take it this thread is now redundant?
  15. i'll let for sale adverts sit in this section provided that they are labeled correctly and are not links to other for sale threads. please amend your post so that the title reads "FOR SALE: N/A 1997 R33 S2 GTS25" and be sure to post a full listing in this thread. i'll give you a couple days to do this, if not it will be deleted. this will help distinguish from the posts which should be in this thread and will hopefully keep some order. i'll let this go for anyone who wishes to do so, provided that it remains NA specific. if this privilege gets abused then they must all go into the for sale forum. cheers eug
  16. can never have too much braking power.
  17. most of this stuff has been covered before. i'm not 100% on what you are actually asking though. you can still make the 4wd work, or you can chose not to - its up to you
  18. Scott's terminology is slightly off. You guys are correct with the term 'intake pipe'. Plenum is the collecting chamber which the intake pipe feeds into.
  19. depends on how thick mdf you decide to go. cheers mate. keeping it simple normally works out the best.
  20. easier to buy an RB26DETT and go from there. that way you can build it up on the side and still drive your car around. then you have your brakes and suspension to think about, plus getting it engineered. with so many modified and build GTRs going around nowadays, it's more cost effective and less headache to buy a GTR and go from there. it won't give you that warm 'i built it' fuzzy feeling, but it'll still make you grin from ear to ear.
  21. 1. doesn't really matter, the rb25de one would have had an easier life. 2. gearbox, ecu, tail shaft, clutch, flywheel, loom, interior fascia, wiring for reverse, master slave cylinder, pedals + custom work to fit them in the cabin and probably a lot more 3. i'd budget about 1-3 grand. depending on what you can obtain second hand and what you want brand new (i.e. clutch, etc). http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...nual+conversion edit: here's a DIY thread, it's for an R32 but the same concept still applies. try searching around a little more this way you'll have a full understanding of what's involved before you actually undertake the task. that way you can ask yourself if it's really worth it. cheers eug
