  1. i personally believe it's some engine harmonics (possibly cam nvcs related?)
  2. cris when you get the chance hit me up. i have bilsteins.
  3. hey there mate. how to put it simply? when someone says 'catback exhaust' what they are referring to is the exhaust section from the catalytic converter onwards (i.e. back) so from the cat to the back of the car. a full exhaust system comprises of: headers (also known as extractors), possibly a connecting pipe depending on design, catalytic converter, maybe another connecting pipe, then followed by a muffler system. ok the sound at 3,000rpm appears to be a twin cam, 6 cylinder harmonics or something (i'm not 100% sure on this). however i have heard similar sounds on many twin cam, inline 6 or v6 engines. i had it on my stock system and i also have it on my r33 gtr exhaust which i have installed onto my r33 gts. it's a matter of trial and error i know people who have bolted on aftermarket exhaust systems and still had the rattle. the type of exhaust material also plays a part into the muffling or dampening of the sound. a wild guess here, but a light stainless steel or titanium exhaust will "ring" and transfer the harmonics and/or sound much more than an exhaust system constructed of mild steel. the sound annoys me a lot too! but sound doesn't equal performance so it's low on my list of things to do. p.s. - yes a kid can learn about cars! have a google around and do some reading around the past threads in the forum, there's a myriad of information just waiting to be searched. i can assure you that 90% of your questions have already been answered before. if not feel free to ask away like you have done so here. hope that helps!
  4. yeah i don't like "rusty" either. odds are against massa, not only does he have to come #1 but louise has to come #6 or #7 (? haven't checked points)
  5. this will be interesting!!!
  6. i'm thinking something other than the knock sensors must have changed, tune?
  7. no you don't need a turbo to put a blow off valve IN your car. but you do need compressed air (i.e. a turbo) for it to work. to put it simply no one is stopping you putting one on, but everyone will laugh at you. and locked ladies and gents
  8. hey guys can we keep this on topic? this is the 2nd thread that cara has started as the first one went awol. cheers
  9. i'm going to keep my opinions out of this, however a friendly reminder to everyone posting to keep comments civil. if cara has done things with positive experiences then there really isn't much problem is there. play nice
  10. excellent comments scathing
  11. i'm not sure if that was a little tongue in cheek or what, i was kinda expecting you to google it yourself. however castor is basically the angle of the steering pivot. an image is easier to explain agree with evil_weevil on this one, i could only get around 1.5-1.7 camber up front, which is totally fine for a street setting. i tried to go a little more hardcore and couldn't do so. i will be changing away from the whiteline stuff also next time around. it really depends on how hardcore you want to go. for a mild street setting with the occasional track work i would personally suggest whiteline stuff. if you want to go a bit hardcore and don't mind the extra discomfort and regular maintenance go the arms.
  12. nice.... 3.7L goodness. definitely no replacement...
  13. castor rods adjust the castor. i run the whiteline eccentric bushes. front camber, front castor and rear camber - seems fine so far, reasonably comfortable on the street not much NVH. time will tell how they hold up, however the bushes are supposed to last longer than the arms on the roads. i have taken the car out to do some track work, only a motorkhana at this stage and with the right alignment it's been perfect
  14. not true.... type-s r33 came out with red badges. the whole NA = blue GT badge thing isn't 100% it's not some coincidence that 90% of the NA cars here have red badges. only the early models have blue badges and even then most of them were r32. i've only seen one r33 series 1 gts4 which had blue badges.
  15. just wondering how much more smug and arrogant he's going to be if he wins. realistically i think he will do it (he only needs to come 5th right?), but deep down i want him to choke like last year just so he can work his way up the ladder like everyone else.
  16. yeah but he would secretly drive it when the gtr breaks
  17. nice one mate. alot of NA'ers going around these days
  18. remember that japan also have a higher octane rating than we do... i would recommend premium as a standard
  19. mine does incorrect ToolmanUK, i have hicas and i have locked it out as well. not for drifting but for motorkhana and circuit racing best way to check is when your priming fuel before you kick it over, check if the light comes on. alternatively have a look between the rear wheels and see if you see the hicas mechanism
  20. wow, way to dig up an old thread. reminded me of this: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=lB2qsj4Tzm0
  21. yeah it was mate, i have a few lying around which i'm looking to offload although the distance to send might cost some coin.
