  7. Hi all, I decided to sell my R32 Skyline. I bought it in October last year (2012) with the idea of it being a project car. With having a 2 year old child plus another one on the way I'm finding it harder and harder to find time to do anything and i wanting to make a return to 2 wheels which i gave up to buy this. I reckon i've put 1500-2000 klms on it since I bought it. Since i've had it I've done the RWC which required a new windscreen, front rotors pads and tyres. I fitted a set of DBA slotted rotors with QFM brake pads which for a 20+ year old car, pulls up better than my wife's brand new SV6 Wagon on even my brother brand new FPV GS!!!! I have since fitted a set of 18 inch rims but still have the original R34 GT rims i bought it with. Have also fitted a HID head light kit which has made a massive improvement over the originals. It has a few performance mods but needs to be tuned for them all to work to full potential. Have recently discovered that it has a chipped ECU. This is pretty much the original advertisement on this webiste i've copied and pasted over with some of the original pictures. and some new ones since i've fitted the new rims xterior Looks wise its fairly standard, has the factory type m skirts, rear pods and I have recently sprayed and fitted a genuine Gtr front bar. Also have fitted a rear lip from viva garage which is fairly unique and in my opinion looks great. Currently rolling on r34 gt stock wheels all round with good rubber. The car sits approximately 1" lower than stock height on bilstein shocks, nice and stiff ride but not to stiff for daily driving (height is still very roadworthy). Interior The interior is nice and clean for an 89 model with no cracks or bubbles in the dash, only let down is a tiny rip on the drivers seat. Only interior mods are a boost gauge sneakily installed where the drivers air vent should be which I still have. Also the factory head unit has been replaced with an alpine head unit with an iphone/ipod cable neatly tucked away. Engine mods Most of the engine mods have been professionally fitted by the previous owner which include an r34 op6 turbo, nismo 555cc injectors, z32 afm, hks pod, blitz return flow intercooler, splitfire coilpacks, 3" turbo back exhaust currently with twin drift pipes at rear but I have 3" blitz rear muffler to make it quieter. The engine bay appears completely standard due to the return flow cooler and hks pod being mounted inside the shell of a standard airbox. Have had a hwy patrol officer look over and did not pick a single thing out. The car runs fine and appears healthy but is in need a tune as it runs very rich and has alot more power potential. estimating power figures at around 165rwkw at the moment. Have recently done a little service which included and oil and filter change using motal 4100 and installed new ngk copper spark plugs. An oil change has been completed every 5000km's by me since I have owned the car. bad points -rear guards have had the lips rolled for bigger wheels -slight weep of power steering fluid coming from hicas lines but doesn't drip has been like this since I have owned the car (will not be a roadworthy issue) -small scratch on rear bumper (hardly noticable) $8,500 ono Can be viewed in Healesville Call Trav on 0438-217-644
  8. Hey all. Looking at selling my R33 GTST. I bought it about 4 years ago and since then, it has given me nothing but heartache. Everytime I think I fix it, something else goes wrong with it. The current problem I have with it now is that for some reason, the battery just dies after I drive it for a little while. I can't figure out why. I have had so much trouble with this car that I have become disillusioned to the dream I had of owning a Skyline since I was little. I just want to get rid of it now and I figure that this would be the best way possible. The car has done just over 100,000km. If someone could give me some advice on how much I can sell it for (even if it's just selling it for parts) I would be very appreciative. Everything seems to be mostly in good condition. If photos are required, I can take some and include them. Thanks in advance.

  11. Hey guys, First time poster, so let me do the quickest intro ever and say I'm Josh, 24, from Western Sydney, just bought my first Skyline (an R32 GTST), previously a 300zx guy... Anyway, to the point, I was wondering if I could get some help/advice. I'm thinking that my Skyline may have a problem with the HICAS or something else steering-related. My steering wheel will be perfectly straight when driving at low speeds, say <50km/h. However, once I go a bit past this, the steering wheel will start to turn counter-clockwise. In other words, instead of the 12 o'clock position on the wheel being at 12 o'clock, it has now shifted to the 11, or even 10 o'clock position (whilst still going straight ahead). This is really uncomfortable and is quite a nuisance, especially when accelerating hard. Surely it's not normal? Can someone please give me some advice on what I should do? Will HICAS elimination fix this? Thanks in advance.
  12. Hey SAU, Just bought an R33 Skyline and have some plans for it so I thought I would make a thread about the car. I have wanted an r33 gtst since I was 12 years old! 7 and a half years later, here I am. Originally I had planned to find a standard, good condition example but after looking for a few months and inspecting 5+, all of them had problems here and there. Crunchy gears, stuffed diffs, hard to start, and my number 1 pet hate BAD PAINT. My last three cars have all been grey, so I just had to find a nice grey example. Eventually I found the car I would eventually buy, however it was a bit far from stock. Modifications done to the car include: - Garrett GT3582r a/r 0.82 - GCG Highmount - Turbosmart 45mm Wastegate (plumbed back) - Ace 100mm thick Intercooler - Splitfire Coils - Siemens Deka 750cc Top Feed Injectors - Custom Fuel Rail - Turbosmart Fuel Pressure Regulator - Bosch 044 External Fuel Pump - Warlbro 255 In-tank Fuel Pump - Surge Tank - Greddy / Freddy Plenum (could be real!! Its not all chromed up like all the fake ones are, its the same external finish as a real greddy but doesnt have the red badge, anyway to tell?) - Kakimoto Mega N1 3.5" Exhaust - De-cat Pipe - Custom Catch Can & Radiator Overflow - Turbosmart Eboost2 - Apexi Power FC - Z32 AFM - HKS Turbo Timer - Bee*R Rev Limiter - Lowered Springs - Bilstein Shocks - Hicas Lock Bar - Aftermarket Rear Bar - Buddy Club P1 - HID Headlights - Alarm /immobilizer /GPS tracking Tuned by Unigroup in Sydney to 330rwkw @ 20psi. So... thats all the mods I am aware of at the moment. The bloke who sold it to me had not listed half of them so I kept finding new things. He said he didnt know much about cars and left everything up to the professionals. Its in great nick with a healthy motor, no rust and great condition paint all round bar a tiny 20c piece sized piece on the rear quarter and your usual scratched up lower front bar. The interior is in excellent condition with the only flaws being some bad paint on the dash and warn out gearknob/ gear & handbrake boots that I will be fixing. My plans? I hope to have a fair chunk of this done by the end of 2013. I am still on my Green P's until December so this gives me plenty of time to get the car to my standard before I can drive it on the streets. Problem is moneys not always there when youre living out of home for the first time and have bills to pay and uni stuff to do, but it should all be doable by December. - Exhaust- At the moment, the car is extremely loud with the basically straight through 3.5" exhaust. (Kakimoto Mega N1 has no centre muffler and a straight through rear can). It sound incredible but is just screaming to be defected. Am planning on swapping to a 3 or 3.5" system with a Varex muffler in the centre and a discreet rear muffler. Perhaps an oval nismo, fujitsubo or vibrant muffler. Also am planning on getting the wastegate pipe flanged so I can swap between screamer or plumb back. Will also be getting a high flow cat as well as it currently has a de-cat pipe. - Exterior - I also plan on swapping to an original rear bar and hunting down some type M pods to match the type M sideskirts and front bar. Along with this I would like a roof spoiler and either a ducktail or series 2 spoiler. Both look great in their own way so it will be a tough decision down the line but atm I am siding with the original and timeless series 2 item. Hoping to get the few small paint imperfections fixed when all this is fitted and painted as well. I would love to get my hands on a Hasemi Sport front lip as well, will be contacting Jesse Streeter as I hear he is good to get items from Japan easy. - Wheels- I dont mind the Buddy Club P1's on there at the moment. Not sure on their full specs as I havnt pulled them off to look but I do know they are 17" and look atleast 8" wide, probably more. They have a pretty decent offset aswell, not -stance- worthy but they are practical and dont look stupid or sit 20km's inside the guards. Once everything else is done a decision will be made on whether to swap wheels. Ive always loved the look of XD9s and Ce28ns on R33's however they are alot of money. Varrstoen make a Ce28n replica in good specs so may pursue that option in some sort of dark grey or gloss black finish. 18x9.5 +22 all round. - Engine- The reason I had originally wanted a stock example was to do my own course of engine modifications, however its hard to pass up what was done to this car. I would like to make the engine bay a bit less of a defect magnet. I will be painting all chrome/polished items black. Rocker covers wrinkle coat black and may even change the braided lines for black hose and 'make' the catch can setup look legalish. Down the line I will be swapping to a GT3076R a/r 0.82 as it is the turbo I have always wanted to fit after seeing so many amazing examples on SAU. Also I will be sourcing a standard airbox & snorkel and routing the intake into it rather then a pod filter. Will be interesting to see as I have not seen a highmount with the standard airbox before! - Interior - The interior is in pretty good nick. No rips or tears or stains. The gear & handbrake boots need replacing and they will be complimented by a shift knob. (thinking Tomei Duracon atm). Will be hunting a nice looking Nardi wheel as well (regretting selling the one I owned years ago with my R31). It has an older style Double DIN headunit at the moment which will be swapped out to a cheap single DIN item & a single DIN triple gauge cluster (not sure what gauges yet). Will be relocating the HKS turbo timer to a better spot and am thinking about a detachable boss kit and hidden ignition line cut switch for extra security. Would love to replace the drivers seat with a Nice reclinable BRIDE item or retro fishnet recaro, and the door skin cloth with BRIDE cloth as well. The dash paint on the centre dash piece that extends under the speedo/tacho area will need some love as that paint is a bit crappy these days (Might carbon wrap it). Well... thats all I can think of plans wise atm. I have a long time to do it so will be saving the pennys to get this going! If anyone could be bothered to read all that I will be very impressed. Enough blabber, here is some pics of the car. Mostly pics from the seller but I will be getting some good pics next time I am with the car. I am a hobbyist landscape photographer so am looking forward to a little fun with a car shoot, just didnt have time recently. Until I can drive it, the car will live 3 hours away at my parents place as there is not room at my house for it and no where to work on it. heres a pic I took on the iphone today, just gave it a good a wash. You can sorta see my daily car next to it, a Peugeot 306 Gti-6, also grey Anyway thats all for now... Will be starting with the cheap bits first. Going to be buying new handbrake and gearshift boots from that UK Topgaiter seller. New Gearknob as well.

I also need to know the air flow rate with respect to the rpm of the engine. The engine must be a rb25det, preferably running with stock turbo, stock boost and stock intake manifold. I know most of the info can be obtained by consult software like Ecutalk, but I don't have access to a consult cable. I need the info for some CFD work. Any help would be much appreciated! Sam

  17. I was driving home last night after filling up in the morning, so I know I had fuel, and almost to my destination I found that my fuel gauge was reading at a quarter. This caused me to kinda wtf and panic so I pulled over to have a look at the back of my car and see if I was leaking fuel or something, but no, there was nothing like that (thank god!). When I got back in the car I noticed that the gauge had started to go back up again, and then rested somewhere much closer to where I had expected it to be. Then after driving the rest of the way and keeping an eye on it I noticed it kind of floated up and down as I was driving. I have no idea what this could be, has anyone experienced this? Should I just be opening up the tank and checking the fuel level sender, not that I am sure what I would be looking for unless it is like visibly broken or something. Thoughts?

  19. For sale is my R33 GTST. Since getting a work car 4 years ago my skyline has sat under cover in the driveway and only done 1000k’s or so. With it costing reg and insurance it’s time to sell it up and move on to the next hobby. The car has a strong, well maintained engine. It’s done 56K km since the rebuild (156K kms total on car). It did 600kms on the freeway each week for 2 and a half years so it’s been a pretty easy life given its power. I’ve had the car since 2003 so don’t really want to part with but have to cut my loses eventually. Car info; 156,000kms with current rego until August 2013. Interior is in great condition except for 2 holes in the drivers A pillar from mounted gauges. New leather break and gear boots. Skyline floor mats in good condition. Recaro seats with some standard wear on them. Nizmo 300km/h dash cluster. Short shift kit. Impul light weight racing rims (17in white 5 spoke). GTR rear spoiler / Veilside pods / skirts. Full black coloured body with resprayed roof, boot and bonnet. Turbo back exhaust; x-force dump-front pipe, x-force high flow cat, Blitz 3in catback. Apexi intercooler. Other extras that I may have forgotten to mention. Engine info; 273rwkw (with dyno sheet) useable power. Power FC tuned rich for the motors longevity. Ported & polished with angle cut valves. Forged pistons. GTR crank and rods. Denso 740cc injectors. Q45 Infinity AFM Pod filter – could do with replacing Turbo - Custom: Ball bearing: Equivalent to GT2876R? Compressor – A/R 0.70, HKS exhaust housing – A/R 0.64. Greddy blow off valve. For a RWC it would most likely need the following standard wear and tear items; new windscreen, front discs, potentially tires, clutch, the tacho is playing up (I was using a 4.5in tacho with shift light but took it out because it was a functional but a bit wanky). All of which I haven't spent the money on in case it gets. $8,400neg for the car as is without RWC or Reg. A tough looking car in great condition that gets plenty of comments. Well worth a look for and reasonably priced for what’s in it. Willing to split the motor out for $3,900 (including everything under engine info) if the interest is there and part out the rest.   24. Hey fellas, Got a TRUST GReddy Front Mount cooler kit for sale. Suits R32 Skyline GTSt. This is a stealth return flow type cooler. Requires NO HOLES to be cut in your car. Fantastic, legal piece of kit when used with an airbox. Tube and fin cooler core measures 520mm x 250mm x 70mm. Piping fits directly to standard piping setup. Some fins are slightly bent as expected with any second hand cooler, BUT it still works VERY WELL. No excess oil anywhere. Good enough to support 296kw with a RB25, 18psi and Hiflow R34 turbo - true story. Proven. Located in Melbourne but happy to post. In box ready to go. $350 Cheers, Mat. 0400558030
