Hi All, So after a few long months of looking, finally got a M35 axis! Fresh off the boat, took it for a test drive yesterday and wow.... Need to wait 2 weeks for compliance/rego which is gonna be the longest 2 weeks of my life! Thanks to all the information people have provided on this forum as it has helped a lot in regards to things to look out for, and also what mods to do when my funds suffice!

Hi Guys and Gals, I am regrettably selling my 2001 Nissan M35 ARX-Four Stagea. I have owned this car since 2008, and imported the car from Japan myself. In this time its been nothing but reliable and a joy to own. The car has done 123,000km. I have since been given a work car, so the Stagea has to go to help pay for the house For those of you who don't know about the features of the M35 ARX-Four - The car has awesome power from the 2.5L V6 Turbo, and the ATTESA ET-S all wheel drive and rear wheel steering is fantastic through the corners and great off road as well. Inside, the car has full leather, auto headlights, heated and electric front seats, six stacker CD, climate control, rear view mirrors that dip when in reverse and fold shut when the car is locked. The rear seats fold fully flat from handles within the boot and creates a huge luggage bay. The car has done many country trips, and this is one of the areas the car excels. Its very comfortable on long distances and the powerful engine makes overtaking an ease. Storage is also impressive with a huge boot along with further storage in pockets and beneath the boot floor. Normally the ARX has black arches and guards, but I have had mine painted the body colour which in my opinion looks a lot better. The radio does not work as standard with Aus frequencies, but I have installed a frequency modifier which receives all the stations. Also included with this car are roof racks. There were no off the shelf roof rack kits that fit the NM35, so I have modified the brackets to take an X-Trail rack foot bolt pattern. These racks are easily removable in a few minutes. *The bike carriers shown in some photos are not included*. The car has recently had a full service, with all drive belts replaced, engine oil and filter, transmission oils and all diff oils, spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter. There is no timing belt to change in this car as it uses a timing chain. Also replaced recently are the brake pads and a full brake bleed. During my ownership I have also put on new front slotted rotors. The car has 245/50 R18 Khumo Ecsta KU31 tyres with 60% life left. I am asking $12,500 for it, but I am negotiable so feel free to make me a reasonable offer! Thanks, Brendan

Up for sale is my pride and joy. I have had this car for about 4 years and have slowly developed it into the ultimate daily - practicle yet fun. I was offered a deal on a new car I couldn't refuse and can't affored to keep both. I will let the photos do the talking - you can see that its immaculate - literally washed weekly and always garaged. First person to see it will no doubt buy it. Hi Guys I've just bought a 2005 Stagea, and was wondering if any of you had come across a manual for it in english? I've got a couple of things I would like to get sorted, but can't really find too much information on it(Information that I can read anyway...) Specifically: LCD screen pops up, and goes straight back down(doesn't turn on) Power cable in the centre console, no idea what it is for In car phone system? Appears to be on the steering wheel, but nothing happens other than a "beep". Phone can't find the car either Replacing the stereo, I've seen adapters for the face plate, but can't seem to find a wiring diagram so I can keep the steering wheel controls(seen the adapters on amazon though) Dvd rom for the LCD? A way to get it all working again?(Providing the english conversion is out for the 2005 model now)(DVD has power to it, but that is all I can see/hear at the moment) Off/Snow/On button below the steering wheel, this car is only RWD, so I'm not sure what it's for?(I thought it was for the 4WD models) Other than those things, the car is great(perfect for towing the jetski) I hope I haven't broken any unwritten rules with this post, I'm not meaning to ask for you to do all the work, just to point me in the right direction Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Chris

Intermittent Fault On M35 Factory Boost Gauge
VSPEC32 posted a topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Wondering if anyone else has experienced intermittent operation of the boost gauge that's in the three gauge cluster of an M35? There doesn't seem to be any particular occurrence that makes it work and then not work. I guess a good start could be the sender unit as the cluster itself just has a plug? If I was to check the sender unit for the the boost signal, where do I start looking. Cheers Brendan -
Hi all, This is my first post but i have been a long time reader of SAU it has helped me out numerous times. However i have a problem that no one else has and was seeking guidance on how to go about fixing it. So in sydney been raining hard for the last couple of days so drive my stag to work all is fine, go to drive home strange things start to happen. So M35 is having electrical seizers and by that i mean when i turn the engine over the head lights start flashing the tacho bounces from 0 - 7k, the temp gauge goes hot to cold engine lights flash on and off, the indicators work intermittently the window wipers are the same. The car drives fine, seems to shift a bit rough but heres the weird thing everything works normal if you leave the car on battery and dont turn the engine on. Ok so the things i have tried to fix it checked codes 0000 reset codes disconnect the battery and unplug the ECU checked all the fuses every thing ok Im not that car savy so if you could point me in the right direction that would be great. Thanks

Hi All! I hope someone can guide me in the right direction... My M35 Stagea 2001 drives fine 95% of the time when cruising around. From slow driving right up to "very firm" acceleration (not flat out) it accelerates smoothly and without issue. When I floor it, as it revs out, the power cuts in and out very aggressively and the car jerks because of this (it does keep accelerating while jerking). When I back off, stop and idle for 30 seconds, then drive again I get the power cutting in and out again (whether driving slowly or harder). This does not go away while I keep driving. If I then park the car and turn it off, leave it for 20 minutes and then start back up, its back to driving fine again. It doesnt give an issue as long as I don't floor it again. Basically its a perfect car that I cant floor it or else it spits the dummy! Could it be fuel cut? Some form of Boost cut? AFM? Anyone else has the same issue? Cheers, Matt

Hey Peeps Thought I would do a write up as it seems there isn't one anywhere else and the 350Z or G35/V35 isn't the same.......... these colour codes were taken from a double din radio - non bose type. 12V Constant - Yellow/Pink. 12V Switched (Ignition) - Light Green/Pink. Ground - Red/Blue. Head Light Signal / Dimmer - Green/White. Front Left Speaker: White & Black. (do not know polarity) Front Right Speaker: Red & Green. (do not know polarity) Rear Left Speaker: Yellow & Brown. (do not know polarity) Rear Right Speaker: Pink & Blue. (do not know polarity) There were 5 colours left over but I did not bother finding out what they were. Cheers, Theo.

Hi, would appreciate any advice on resetting immobiliser system for my 2004 M35 Stagea (VQ35 engine). The story so far: - battery was flat 2 weeks( missus did not bother starting the car while away. - recharged battery, engine would crank, not fire. - RAC attempted to fix , removed battery leads and connected, no go. - towed to a Nissan dealer, waited 4 days for them to tell me they need codes to reset immobiliser, codes supplied by Nissan Aust (for Maxima)did not work. Had one suggestion the code may need to come from Nissan Japan. Anyone, please? Bruce

Hi all, Got a bit of an issue I could use some help with! I was rooting about in the dash this weekend to install a few things and end up cutting the ash tray light wires to run them elsewhere. I must have accidentally grounded that wire at some point and blown a fuse because now the centre console lights won't illuminate: nav buttons, climate control buttons, triple gauges and trans all dark. I checked most of the fuses in the kick panel and they look fine - anybody got any ideas?

My car is blowing 'smoke' at around 4k and it gets heavier/thicker as the revs increase. When I hit around 4.5-4.75k there's hesitation almost like hitting a limiter (Not as bad as when you blow an AFM and cant get over 2.5k though). Im still making positive boost, and I don't have a CEL. No weird noises. Initial thoughts were my AFM throwing bad readings, so I took some readings and it looked slightly suspicious - on idle 1.59v and when Im up around 4.5k RPM it maxes out to 4.64v. Ive since swapped in one of Scottys spares, and it has identical readings on the Informeter. Could it be a bad earth on the AFM circuit that's causing high readings, or are those numbers 'right' - can anyone compare? Im a bit stumped as to what else to look in to or play with. Suggestions welcome! Cheers, Dunc

Hi All, Loving all the info about the M35 Stageas you guys do a great job and collating info keeping messy threads to a minimum! I'm wanting to get my teeth into a late model stagea ideally with a VQ35HR motor to serve as a family wagon Looking for some help from stagea owners if they could help me find some details on "how to" ID a late model 350RX Stagea on whether its got the VQ35DE or VQ35HR motor in it?? Wether it be visual body changes, engine bay differences etc. Searched for images of a HR equipped Stagea and the only info I can find is wiki saying they put these motors in the cars for one year before they ceased production. No help from anywhere else. It seems like Wiki is wrong as I cant find any stageas witha VQ35HR for sale anywhere?? Oh and my current ride is a D22 Navara STR, 2" lift 32" Kumho KL1's, 10,000 Lumen LED Bar, Onboard Air with 60A 12V power to the rear Joys of having a truck with factory LSD, Factory diff breathers etc. Dont ask about power or 0-100's ha ha! Cheers Colin

So my turbo is going, going, soon to be gone... I have a 2003 M35 Stagea, 120xxx km's. Stock - except for some mad-as wheel nuts! My mechanic has told me that to rebuild the turbo will be around the 2.5k mark based on the following: Engine removal (as the turbo cannot be reached any other way) Rebuild the turbo (as a replacement from Nissan will be too expensive) Refit the new turbo Replace Engine So my question to all you fellow Stag drivers is this: Is the price/quote correct & must the engine be removed to replace/rebuild the standard turbo?

Driving home tonight, the tacho, speedo, odo & everything in my instrument cluster went limp & died in my M35 They're all still lit up like they're supposed to (with the exception of the backlit odo & gear selection indicator) - the gauges have all just stopped functioning. I've checked the fuses & can't see anything blown. Anyone got another suggestion?
