  2. This is on a 2007 V36 370GT Skyline. with HDD Sat Nav... Now I don't know a word of japanese. But for $1.99 there is a great little app on the iphone called camDictionary that will read your display and translate it!.. Pain and slow but useful to browse around your system beyond whats been translated. Some of this maybe useful, most of this is not but interesting to see what is in the dealer diagnostic menus. Maybe very useful for anyone doing speaker upgrades to use the tone test, or adjust check any faulty components, or change some settings, wipe your music off the car etc.... Enter Diagnostic Mode... Start the engine, (or turn on the System, as you may be a while, better have the engine running to keep the battery on), Turn the audio system off by pressing the volume button. (Audio off is displayed). Now press the settings button on the main control panel with the Dial, this is on the left side of the wheel selector, third big button closest to the down arrow on the selector wheel. Press and hold this button, now spin the Volume wheel 20 clicks or so either way and a menu will come up. The Diagnostic Menu. There are two options, first is a simple self diagnostic test that shows a graphic of whats connected Takes you to the detailed menu where you can change settings and see detail diagnostics. The menu has 16 items listed in it and has some sub menus.. The following list is a translation of those menu items and what they do. 1. Screen Diagnostic 1. Colour Test 2. Grey Scale test 3. Touch Screen test i.Points on screen ii.Touch Screen and see response OK 2. Diagnose Vehicle Signals 1. Speed Sensor 2. Parking Brake 3. Wrignt -- (dont ask.. no idea) 4. Ignition 5. Reverse 3. Speaker Diagnostics... Once you press this theres two options, if you keep pressing start it will cycle through the speakers 1. Start - press to cycle speakers 2. Stop - 4. Air Conditioning Diagnostic - did nothing for me but return a blank screen like system was off press back to get out. 5. Navigation --- So USELESS 1.Angle Adjustment - (useless ... a. Left of the times b. Right of the times c. set 2.Adjust the distance a. Adjust width of the distance 6. Error History Display Pretty useless also shows where you were on sat nave when errors happened 7. After the reset at the same seat watch Yes some translations are just non sensical rubbish..... 8. Vehicle CAN Diagnostic Support Monitoring Takes you thorugh all the CAN components connected and their status, scroll down to see more stuff. 9. AV Communications Monitoring More AV stuff, pretty hard to translate 10.Handsfree Carwings 1.Handsfree ear volume adjustment 2.Makes freaky noises/// 3.Version View 4.Provider Settings (needs code to unlock) (you hope there some magical settings in here but I doubt it... 5.enter phone number?? 6.enter phone number?? 9.Remote Assitance on/off 10.Erase Memory - (Maybe useful if youve done something and cant get rid of it) yes/no default no 11.ETC Unit 1.Error History 2.Clear Error History 12.Camera Control Unit 1.Continued eye visibility - (shows sensor readings of cameras and dynamic headlights) 1.Steering Angle sensor (show if on/off) turn wheel = on 2.Reverse Signal 3.Car universal sensor 4.Side view monitor 2. Set reverse safe collision distance (adjust your reversing camera overlay) 3. Set side safe collision distance (adjust your side camera overlay) 13.Bluetooth 1. Change vehicle passkey 2. Change Bluetooth name 14.Clear Unit Connection History Clear the Unit connection history and error history Yes/NO default = No 15. Safety Universal Rolling Message ON/OFF 16. Wipe HDD, Clear All music, Navigation Data, and ETC data Yes/No default = No. Hopefully something useful in here for some one, enjoy...
  3. Hi everyone, I am a proud owner of a v35 coupe in New Zealand for the past 2.5 years and is now thinking of upgrading to a v36 coupe. I have been doing my research on the internet but is struggling to find the actual features and specs for the different type of v36. As such, I am just keen to get some help from everyone here on the following:- 1) Apart from leather seats, what are the additional features that you can get from a type P as compared to the base model? 2) With the type S, I know it doesn't have the leather seat but come with paddle shift and 19 inch wheels instead as compared to the type P. However, apart from this are there anything that the Type P has that the Type S doesn't? 3) How significant is the different between a Type S and Type SP? I understand that Type SP has leather seat and the Bose sound system. But apart from this, what's the different between the Type S and Type SP? 4) Does any of the variant comes with cruise control? From some website, it seems like it cruise control is an optional feature but the dealer I am looking at to help me do the import process tells me that the coupe doesn't come with cruise control. At the moment, I am pretty keen on a type SP but prices are a little steep and probably just over my budget. Hence, I am thinking of looking into the type P or type S as I am not really fuss about having full leather seat or just partial leather or having a Bose sound system. I do hope that I can have the paddle shift and cruise control options. I have tried looking in the forum for the detail breakdown of options and features for each variant but can't seems to have any luck finding too much details, hence the new post. I do apologise if there is already a post for this and would appreciate anyone's help in directing me to the appropriate post / website. Thanks in advance everyone! Cheers! Loh
  4. Hi all, just wondering if any V36 owners have had the same issue as me, and if so, any input is appreciated. I have a 08 V36 Coupe Type 3 that came with the standard 6 CD audio system. This morning, I ejected a cd from the stacker and inserted a new one. For some reason, the CD was spat out, pulled back for about 3 times. The last time it was spat out, it was not pulled back in again so I removed the CD. Ever since, the CD has not been working. I would not change CDs, wont allow me to insert or eject another CD. I have attached a photo of the error message (I presume) Pressing the eject or load button will now trigger a beeps. Every now and then I can hear the changer initiated (the sound when its swapping CDs) briefly and then it goes quite. Has anyone had an issue like this before? I have unplugged the battery to rest the system but that was no use. Any help is appreciated.
  5. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone knows what format the V36 plays on the onscreen display? Tried .avi, .mp4, none of them work by the CF memory card playback, or would the screen only play when it is copied over to the Harddrive

  10. Hi All, Firstly thanks for all the invaluable information that has been contributed on this forum! Now as it has been asked 100 times before can the V36 Japanese characters be swapped out for English... Well I'm not about to claim that I have found the solution to this problem however I have recently been in contact with the gentleman who mad English button overlays for the V35 and offered my Navi optioned 370GT SP to allow for some fitments to be undertaken. I would just like to state that I am in no way involved with or will gain any compensation for these products but thought it should share the partial fix with the community. Once finalised if ok by the administrators/ moderators may post an ebay link to the product, however should this be against forum etiquette please just post within this thread. The final product is not yet in production but here is the product he has installed thus far.
  11. I have a 2008 370gt needing its windscreen wipers replaced. Having followed the G37 US forum figured the sizing was 26" and 17" length wipers. Has anyone found any wipers that fit the coupe locally instead of buying online, reluctant to ship a set of Bosch Icon's from the states as it will cost close to $100 AUD unless there is nothing I can buy locally.
  12. Hi all, Been looking into base heighte adjustable Coilover options for my V36 coupe and having trouble deciding on which way to go. Ultimately I would prefer a new set in terms of piece of mind, reliability and life-span - however looking for something with a good balance of price vs quality. Not sure on whether best to go with a true coilover setup on all 4, or whether to go true coilovers front and separate strut and spring on rear - like some companies out there provide. I have BC Coilovers in my Y34 Gloria and have been quite happy with them in terms of ride quality vs stability balance, etc - however I really am at a loss with regards to which sets to consider for the V36. My previous V35 had very firm coilovers with minimal travel and I really want to avoid this issue in this car! Currently the V36 has RS*R lowered springs with standard struts, sitting on 20in Works. Sit's fairly nicely and rides really too.. But it would be nice to be able to set the car up as I want and at the perfect height instead of just dealing with what the lowered springs allow for. Anyone who has experience with coilovers for V36 or can assist in anyway, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Chris.
  13. Hi guys, Looking to buy 4 x 19 inch stockies from a v35 or v36 for my 35 sedan. Rubber is currenty running low (bought the car with Nankangs, gross) and I figured 19s would be a nice upgrade from the standard 17s. Have any of you done something similar? I'm located in Sydney, Liverpool area; happy to cover shipping. Cheers
  14. Welp, when driving the car home last weekend not long after i left New Plymouth i started to notice the blower fan was blowing a rather unpleasant smell. It got so bad that i had to stop and get an air freshener (it was hot so i had the fan on high). The other day i purchased a new cabin filter, on the premise that it was probably stuffed. After reading plenty of LHD US G35 DIY guides for the filter i decided to rip into it today. I have written this as i had some trouble finding a step by step DIY guide for RHD Skylines as they are slightly different. Step one is to remove the little panel under the glovebox. Just grab it at the front edge and pull down. It is held in by two hooks towards the front of the car, it needs to be gently pulled towards the rear of the car to release it. Once that is off, open the glovebox grab the top edge and pull up towards the roof of the car. You should feel it pop out of the clips at the bottom edge. You then need to wiggle and twist to get the side pegs out of their slots. I found it was easiest to push the LH side of the glovebox towards the windscreen and then pull the RH side out towards the rear. There is also the little retractable cord that needs to be removed. I gently wiggled and pulled and it came free. Once that is out, i also removed the little side panel in order to see the panel clips for the next step. This just pulls off. Ok, so now you have the covering panel In order to remove this, there are two screws in the lower corners, and four along the top edge. Interestingly, there was a sticker that indicated that the filter was last replaced in December 2014 at 52356KM (which it cant have been as the car is at 141000 now). Anyway, with that panel removed, you are greeted by the blower fan and filter housing. The covering panel is right in the middle and comes free quite easily. A clip on the LH side and then the panel is moved to the left to release it from its slots. Once removed, this is what greeted me. A black filter that was certainly not correctly fitted. Removed, it was clear why i had bad smells and bad airflow And compared to the new filter This is the new filter, Slap the foam on the sides as per the instructions with the filter (they go on the two sides. The front is where "UP" is written). Gently slot it into the housing. It will go up on rails and sit at the top of the housing. It should sit flat, other than the front. The front will be lifted and supported by the front cover which has raised ridges to hold it. Stick it all back together, which is reverse of disassembly, and away you go. My fan now blows more air, is quieter, and best of all, actually smells fresh and clean. Mine also had the side effect of no longer having a misplaced filter blocking one of the vent flaps.
  15. Hey! My HID headlights have started to randomly turn off while driving. It will usually flicker on/off for a second before staying off. They turn straight back on again after turning the lights on and off, but will start doing it again shortly after. Its not both lights in unison either. One goes... then the other. It appears to be triggered by G-forces/movement as it often flicks off when i make a sharp turn or go over minor bumps in the road. Anyone know what could be causing this or of a good auto-electrician in the Brisbane area? I can't find anything on the forums except someone in Sydney with the same issue on a V35 that had zero responses. Thanks in advance for any help!
  16. I have a Nissan V36 370GT Coupe with Nissan badged engine cover and am looking to see if there is anyone in SA with an Infiniti badged G37 that would be interested in swapping their Infiniti engine cover for my Nissan engine cover? Would also be interested in swapping the airbag covers over as well if interested? (Can remove cover easily). Cheers
  17. Hi everyone I'm trying to find a brand new set of the oem skyline mats that came with the 370gt. I'm hoping someone might have some info as to where I can get these from. I'm even willing to swap mine which are still in good condition + some cash. But ideally I'd love a brand new set. Iv spoke to Nissan and they can't even find them on the system which I find strange.
  18. Hi guys, Any spoiler suggestions for V36 370GT coupe? Where can I get it? Thanks.

Has anyone else experienced this and knows what the cause and fix is? Its been like this for about three weeks and is driving me insane! Cheers.
