  1. Hi guys a recently purchased R33 Gtst automatic is driving normally some days then it'll just completely lose responsiveness but once stopped the key will start the car as if nothing had just happened. if anyone has experience with this issue that would be extremely helpful. The mechanic we brought it to said they "fixed it" but no it definitely was not fixed. Please if anyone has experience anything would help, Thank you!

Hi everyone, Firstly, what a great forum this is, it’s the fountain of knowledge for everything skyline related, it’s taken years to build this up and is the best forum for skylines out there, it has helped me loads, thank you. So I’ve been frequenting this forum on off for a while now, trying to get the information I need to achieve decent figures in my auto. After sorting the gearbox (401) with an additional bigger cooler (28 row mocal) and an MV auto’s stage 2 shift kit I then fitted a hybrid turbo, 440cc injectors and Emanage ultimate, bigger inter cooler and free flowing exhaust and exhaust manifold, 1.1mm steel head gasket and ARP head bolts. New water and oil pump. Off it went to be mapped, it returned with a nice 348 at the fly wheel figure at .85 bar. I think this equates to around 200rwkw depending in what fudge factor is being used? I could well be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time... I’ve read lots of posts on here probably the automatic performance thread back to front at least 5 times but I still forget stuff. The car went off to be mapped again last week as I really want that 400 at the fly figure which I’m guessing is around the 250-260rwkw mark. After they found and fixed my very leaky rubber inlet manifold gasket they got her on the dyno. I got a message asking what I have changed on the car since it was last mapped as it’s only making 300 at the fly now and turning the boost up makes no difference. My mapper said it is like an exhaust restriction and asked if I have a cat but I haven’t, it straight through. The car has barely done 1k miles since it was mapped at this time last year so I’m a little stumped.? It has a standard bov, and a gizmo boost controller, they have leak tested it and there are no boost leaks. I’m also told the injectors are not maxing out and that turning the boost up isn’t making any difference. I’ve asked for him to look up the exhaust tomorrow to see if anything is up there that shouldn’t be, failing that???? It’s a rebuilt hybrid that went in when it was mapped last year. I only ever drive it gently all the way to the drag strip and then home again, maybe I’ll take it out and cruise around once in a blue moon but I never go flat out other than half a dozen times at the strip. The air filter has been checked and is fine also. Some of you guys will know this one even though what I’ve just written in my mind doesn’t compute. Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated as I’m not going manual even though I get a fair bit of flack for being auto. Thanks in advance Paul
  3. Running into a bit of an issue. R34 GTT auto trans has a speed sensor at the back, little 2 pin plug, assuming it's speed sensor 2 however the current trans harness doesn't plug into it. So assuming that either my harness is wrong or someone swapped out the sensor with a different one? Either way anyone have any ideas on what to do in this case? Is there a suitable replacement to speed sensor 2 or do I even need it?!
  4. Hey Team SAU Time has come for me to let go of my PV36 Skyline Sedan. My new car arrives next week and i don't have space to keep both . I brought it cause i had a few months wait for the new car to arrive and it hasn't given me any issues , very reliable daily driver with all the luxury features leather heated electric seats , reversing camera , DVD, Australian sat nav , music box , usb , full climate control etc... Its got just under 124,000 kms and due for a service which i have booked it in for one Tuesday the 24th April ( i believe in good karma so i won't be selling the car until i'm sure it has been checked over and been serviced) Th Rego isn't due until 28 Dec 2018 The only thing i can think of that it does need is a good polish to remove the surface scratches in a few area's apart from that its a very nice car. As for the price i'm not looking to make big money here ,factoring in the KM's , condition , similar vehicles on sale , the English conversion , full service i'm looking at around $12,500 , but i'm willing to negotiate (not bargaining) with someone who is really interested and make a fair offer.   5. Hey im after one of these shifters in the photo, i could also do with an r33 selector bit that has the gears on it that lights up that the shifter fits into, mine has a crack in it.
  6. Need some help with my speed sensor on the RB20DET. I've pretty much figured out where it's located, on top of the transmission, hard to reach without dropping the exhaust. The question is WHERE does it plug into on the harness? I know that the revolution sensor aka speed sensor on the RB20DET in the R32's is supposed to be mechanically driven, though...I've got a shielded cable with a white and red wire coming off of them. Whoever did the motor swap did some wacky wiring and I have no idea where anything goes now. I'm assuming that my speed sensor is electronic then? It's the RE4R01A trans (A/T) so I need anyone with an A/T to give me a hand right now with this. I spent the past several weeks tracking down diagrams for the TCM which are non-existent, diagrams to the transmission plugs (again non-existent) and searched this site up and down and kept getting zero results. The last question would be, IF I maintain the electronic speed sensor on the transmission, how would I wire it up? What plug did anyone use on their RB25 (those are electronic I believe). Obviously any and all help is greatly appreciated.
  7. Like the title says, ISO wiring diagram for the A/T R32 4 speed. I can't seem to find one anywhere. Since I can't find the harness, I'm going to see if I can just snip some connectors off of my old chassis harness and re-pin them for the various wires. If anyone's got a lead on the diagram that'd be amazing. Also, can someone throw up a picture of their fuse box? There's 4 plugs on the side for the autos, I want to see what plugs go where. I'm assuming 3 plugs are for the transmission inputs since there's 3 sets of wires, the other plug I'm assuming is either alternator or something else? Thanks!
  8. Hey guys, looking to buy (relatively inexpensive if possible lol) an RB20DET automatic ECU. I can't locate one online and the majority that come up end up not being compatible because they're listed wrong and the serial number is for a manual. Any help is appreciated. I can't find any support in the US. I'mean certain that someone has one or even can go to a pick and pull and get their hands on one. As well need a trans harness for my car. I suspect that the Z32 NA harness will work because it's the same part number transfer though...won't leave to chance. Similarly, instead of starting a new thread, I got an R31 A/T ECU which was used on my R32 by previous owner, ugh. If anyone wants or needs I'll be happy to help out. Maybe we can do an even exchange.
  9. Good morning all. I figured I might as well start a build thread on my 1990 Skyline GTS-T (Gxi hybrid). The backstory of this car is pretty out there. It's an FR chassis, had a motor swap done on it, the previous owner cut the engine harness and hard wired an R31 ECU and hard wired the TCM as well. Needless to say it was less than attractive. Fast forward to yesterday. We just finished installing the chassis, engine and alternator harnesses. I was fortunate enough to find the harnesses on eBay via international sellers. For >$500 I was able to secure those. I'm still missing a transmission harness for the A/T which I can likely source off of a Z32. They had the same transmission so I can assume the connectors are the same. Right now I'm at a standstill, the coilpack harness was hacked up as well and the connectors from the old harness don't look like the typical 6 pin plugs but rather have a rubber boot on them and a metal clip. In addition there's a single wire plug (round) that comes off of the coil pack harness. Again, not connected to anything. As such I decided to deal with Wiring Specialties for the coil pack harness. Unfortunately they don't make harnesses for A/T which limited me to factory only. That being said, I trust that once I get the coil pack harness and the transmission harness I'll be back in action. From there it'll be time to consider relocating the fuel filter, installing new suspension components and replacing the single pot calipers to something beefier. Yes, I forgot to mention that I've got single pot front and rear calipers. The Gxi came with rear drums so I'm not sure what these are.

Hey fellas, so recently purchased a 92 gtst rolling shell and it seem as tho it has an auto dash, it has had an SR and an RB25 in it before has modplates and was last registered with a sr20 in it, so my problem is will i run into any problems when i go too put a RB25 in it? is there anything that can be dodgy about auto conversions that i should check on or is there anyway i can tell if has been? can post pics if need be,Cheers.
  11. Hey there lads, Ive looked around a little bit and have come up empty handed. Is it possible to run an r34 gtt auto gearbox in an auto r33 gts25t? Have you heard of this being done before? If its possible what do i need to do it? Im sure a lot of you are thinking why on earth don't I just go with a manual but any help is well appreciated. Cheers

  13. Ive now set up my own ignition retarding feature for when the auto transmission shifts under heavy load. I run about 13psi under full load, and I wondered what stresses are on the exhaust valve when the cylinders are being fired at 0 degrees advance. AFRs under full load are around 11.5 : 1. Should that keep the combustion temperature in a safe range for the valves? Or should I richen further while retarding the ignition? The retarding period lasts about 200ms, or about 10-12 combustion events per cylinder at most.

  15. Hi ther! First off, i wil apolegise for my english wiritng skills so if you have problems with ppl that can't spell for shit, stop reading now! Ok so now to my problems, I own a Stagea c34 RS4 1997 mod rb25det Automatik (not sure if car is s1 or s2 but know the engien is s2) Im trying to figure out what shoks and springs i can use on my car, i know ther is a post for this but it was not spesefied if it was a 2wd or 4wd or if it was auto or not. I have goten som "info" wher it have been "i think its this" but dosent realy cut it for me. What im looking for is 40mm 40mm lowering springs and dampers (not coilovers) And brakes that fits the car, not upgraded brakes but original, need to know witch car i can get parts from (Stagea dos not exisit in any database wher i live) Sorry if i have written this a bit backwords or realy comfusing! Hope somone is abel to help!

  17. Hey All, Upgrading the wife's car, so her car is up for sale. We are the 2nd owners and the car has been meticulously service with all service prior to my ownership done by Tom Kerr and during the time we've owned it by me with only premium Ryco filters and Castrol Edge (most likely better than the dealer shit). Make: Mazda Model: 3, SP25 - Luxury (Comes with Sunroof, Leather, Bose Audio) Transmission: Automatic, 5 speed Year: 2010 KMs: 98 xxx Rego: Dec, 2018 Colour: Pearl White, with Metallic Extras: DBA T2 Plain rotors & TRW pads all round, replaced last year.   18. Hi ther, Seams like my Stagea rear diff have sailed of to the limbo betwhen life and death, and want to know what i can put in it? Frome som reacerch the Stagea have an R200 diff, witch means ALOT of funn options! But i alsow know i need the same rations as the one i have. I want to put in an LSD in it, and wondering if im gonna get my hands on a s13 or s14 LSD because they are easy to obtain and can handel the driving i do with the car. But then i wonder, if i just change the intestens of the diff, and leav the pinjong wheels from my existing diff, wil i have the same ratio as i have now? im not to edjucated in this, and googel havent given me any good answers! And to somthing in the completly diffrent end of hte car! I got myself a set of rb26dett Coils, because i found out that rb25det s2 and rb26dett coils was supose to fit, BUT, the conektors are diffrent, and wondering, can i just repin the original wiering with new rb26dett conektors? Or is ther anything more i need to think about? Hope somone can clearefy a few things for me!

  22. G'day, I have an auto R33 GTST Series 2 which got broken into a while back and they completely buggered the igniton barrel and sleeve. I want to replace it but can only seem to find the manual barrels and sleeves available. I heard there was an extra cable on the auto barrel that effects how it is put back together/fits. Is this the case or would a manual one suffice? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Dan
