Hey guys, im fairly new to the forums but i had a brand new Gates Timing Belt and water pump kit with all seals and gaskets needed todo the job. I paid 360$ with shipping around a year back for the kit, but i never got around to needing to use it as i barely drive my r34. I have attached a picture for you to see, Item:Gates Timing Belt+Water Pump Kit Location: Western Sydney Price: $340 O.N.O(On Negotiable Offer) This kit suits rb25det engines and as far i am aware it fits rb26 as well but confirm with a professional before purchasing. Make me an offer as i need cash and dont need this lying around.

Im in the middle of changing my timing belt and cant remove the drive belt, alternator and P/S. Is there a certain sequence of going about this because i keep tightening the belt but the reverse is doing nothing at all. Iv undone the hinge bolt pictured in the second picture. The two bolts im confusing of their functon are in the first picture.Ive undone the short belt, and tightned the long one and it pulls the alternator back essentially tigthening it. Help want to finihs this early if possible. so i managed to take the alternator belt off by removing the water pump pulley. Anyone know where the hinge bolt for removing the A/C, Power steering is? Would undoing the tensioner circled loosen the power steering?

Hi all, Apologies I know this has been asked before but getting nowhere... Just changed timing belt, and replaced all accessory belts at the same time because I had some squealing at startup. Now, though, it's REALLY bad, and won't go away until I've done a couple of minutes of driving, then rev'd beyond 3,000 and let off the accelerator. All new belts, various degrees of tension (but fairly tight for what I'd like). How have people solved belt squeal? I've had this issue with several stageas now, and I don't know what the common element is. I suspect it's glycol on the belts from filling the radiator. VERY frustrating! I've had the car back from workshops after 100,000K services and it's had the problem; I've had an engine rebuilt with new belts and same issue; my friends cars have it bad... pulling my hair out with this one. I've tried: - spraying water on the belts, both stopped and while running - spraying water/detergent on the belts, both stopped and while running - brake/parts cleaner (good old carburettor cleaner, dissolves most things) - tightening belts - loosening belts - changing engines (not to fix belt squeal, but it didn't help) - rain dance So annoying, after doing so much work over the weekend to replace timing belt, to then have to drive around in what sounds like the loudest mouse choir on wheels. Any ideas which I haven't already tried would be welcome. cheers DaveB

Hello! I just recently had my Timing belt done and all the accesories, tensioners/pulleys etc. The shop who did the job is very reputable and have done many jobs like this before. So when I got my car back I didn't notice anything, the car sounded fine. Drove it home, (3 hour journey) and just as im arriving when I do a pull from 1st gear in the parking space I hear a whinning noise from the engine? Was pretty tired so decided to look it up the next day. I read through some forum posts with people who experienced similar problems. That their belt would make squeaky noises, when warmed up mostly and around idle. In my case this is what i've discovered so far: Noise is there both when the engine is cold and warmed up and only seems to be apparent from 1000--1500rpm. Anyone have any ideas what this noise can be?!? More frustrating than anything! The timing belt kit installed is a Blueprint oem replacement. Dear all I hope you guys can help me before i'll throw this Car away. My Power Steering Belt slipped for the third time (one time completely and now the second time "only" half way and straight into the Cooler Fan which made a lovely Sound midway my Trip). I'll bring it to my mechanic to look into this (propably the Car is just cursed and hates me) but i need to drive it to him which takes me a 3 hours drive. The last time a guy from the breakdown service fixed it by relaxing and tightening the belt again, which i tried too, but i've loosen the Bolts according to the DIY FAQ and the P/S Pump won't move at all to loosen the Belt. I've tried pushing, pulling, leverage and even a hammer out of frustration, but the Belt stays tight as is. Can anyone point me in the direction why this Car can't just be easy to work on once?
