Hi all, There have been all kinds of conversations on and off SAU about single turbo options for RBs (and other engines really) in the current state of the game and while I've not seen any evidence of compressor maps being inaccurate, different manufacturers use different ways to normalise and present the numbers, different cut off points, and different ways of estimating hp from compressor flow which can result in people expecting too much or too little from their turbos. I've decided to semi-roughly translate it all into an even measure and shove what I consider "the most relevant" turbos for most people who would be talking about turbo choices in here, and split the compressor flow potential they have at 20psi, 25psi and 30psi - using "65% compressor efficiency" as a cut off. Those are fairly familiar and reasonable reference points, and as you exceed 65% I view it that it's where the intercooler and hotside are starting to have to carry disproportionately more of the load to keep things happier. This is the "you're pushing it" zone, imho - even if it's not really maxing the turbo out. It seems to be a reasonable way of gauging them on a similar scale if you're going to being matching the turbos for real world performance. It may not be PERFECT but I think it gives enough of an idea of how they may compare, I'm pretty sure all these turbos have hot side options which are pretty close to supporting the exhaust flow needed these days - give or take, but some of the numbers here may explain a few interesting things seen.. Hope it's vaguely interesting reading Turbo 20psi 25psi 30psi GTX3071R 50 52 53 GTX3071R Gen2 51 52 53 EFR7670 53 56 57 S257SX-E 54 57 60 G25 660 55 60 59 GTX3076R 59 61 62 Gen2 GTX3076R 59 61 62 GTW3476R 60 64 67 EFR8374 65 68 69 GTX3582R 70 72 74 Gen2 GTX3582R 70 75 77 EFR9180 74 79 84 GTX3584RS 75 80 84

Hey Anyone using the internal waste gated Borg Warner turbos? Everyone loves a screamer pipe but not legal in NZ and like to keep cops off my back. Do they do the job for 500kw cars? Thanks.

Recommend me a turbo/cam setup- RB25 Hi all, I'm hoping someone can save me the money on spending on a new setup that doesn't meet my needs. I've currently got about 330kw with an old garret 3080 0.82 housing through a built RB25 on E85. I'm running 25psi currently and would like to upgrade cams and springs, thinking while I'm there to do turbo, manifold, gates etc. I'm looking for about 450kw give or take, preferably give.. So far im thinking of either a 6466 or a gtx3584rs? When it comes to cams, I don't mind losing the VCT if its more beneficial to do so. I don't really have a cam selection in mind. Everyone loves that lumpy idle but am unsure of what to get. Currently the car is only used a handful of times a month. Mainly drag use/roll racing with some street driving (not daily driver). Just looking for advice, maybe from people who have gone down a similar path or someone who can guide me in the right direction. Cheers

Skyline Heart, S Chasis Shell, Hey SAU Members, Long time lurker first time poster. I've wanted an import for as long as I can remember and am finally in a point in life where I can build a car without cutting corners. I have previously owned an R33 that made 320RWKW, but it was built on a budget and just wasn't a car that I was proud of. Sure it was fun, but you pop the bonnet and it just had Chinese copy stuff in there, wasn't neat, wasn't tidy. I work in the industry now and we build big powered cars every day of the week.. just have to take a look in the workshop and there is a 800hp maloo and two 450awhp wrx's in the build process.. About my build Goal... 400RWKW S13 with creature comforts like Aircon, Stereo, Decent suspension.. basically a sunday cruiser with a bit of go about it. Would like to be able to drive it to power cruise, have fun and drive it home. Engine: Started out life as an RB25DET. It currently sits in about a million pieces (pictures to come). CP RB25DET Neo Pistons 86.5m Haven't ordered rods yet.. open to suggestions, but most likely going to go with Oliver or CP rods. STD Stroke. ARP Head Stud Kit HKS Head Gasket RB25 Neo head (I'm still trying to get a hold of one, if anyone has one for sale or knows of one please drop me a PM) Link Fury ECU that I'm wiring in. It's so difficult to find a decent RB loom and I'm wanting to run LS coils anyway. LS Ignition Setup mounted in a secret location Bosch 1650CC Injectors. Twin Walbro 265LPH E85 Pumps PLAZMAMAN Intake Plenum 6 boobs manifold Borg Warner EFR7163 Twin Scroll T4 Turbo RB25det gearbox r200 diff with 5 stud rear conversion Custom NPC Clutch For those of you interested I have a pretty decent audio setup that I had in a Volkswagen that I owned... I'm also planning on running a windows tablet and making a custom centre for it that will be base for all of my music and be hooked up to the link to act as gauges rather than having gauges mounted on the dash.. Hybrid Audio Legatia Carbon 6'' mids Hybrid Auidio L1 Pro Tweeters Mosconi AS200.4 Analog Amp Mosconi AS200.2 Aanalog Amp Mosconi 6to8 Digital Sound Processor So this is my build thread, I'll try update it as I make progress. The attached picture is how my project is starting out life. Lots of hours and fun ahead.. dare say lots of box's of beers haha. Thanks for reading

1000hp + Build I'm gathering parts for a build up on a tb48 engine aiming for over 1000 HP. I have a turbo thats equivalent to a Garrett gt4708. It has a 1.41 rear t6 rear housing. Has anybody had experience with these . From what I can find it's sized for 1200hp size turbos? Obviously too big on an rb?
