Hi! I’m looking to replace my current turbo on my S1 RB25DET in order to make 600HP but maintain responsiveness. I’m looking at the HyperGear ATR43SS-3 in T3 .63 A/R or the Pulsar PSR3576 Gen2 T3 .82 A/R. I’m still learning how turbo sizes effect lag, response, and power band. I’m looking to see if anyone can share their experience with either of these turbos or can recommend another to meet my goal? These are my mods: • Running 91 octane most of the time and occasionally E85 on track days • top mount twin scroll manifold • 44mm external wastage • 1300CC fuel injectors • mishimoto intercooler M-line • 3in intercooler pipes • g-reddy intake manifold • link g4+ • NZWiring trigger kit • GTR R35 coilpacks • built bottom and top • 4” down-pipe and exhaust

Hey all. I know there is a plethora of information about Hypergear turbos on these threads, with Tao providing a heap of Dyno results. I was looking at Hypergear's ATR45-SAT (Special application turbocharger) as it will directly bolt on to my existing setup, with some basic fabrication/relocation of some intake piping, and will suffice for my 300-350rwkw power figure I am after with my current setup for street use. Only thing is he doesnt provide any specs from what I can see on the size of the housings, or any sizings of inlets/outlets, which I thought would be basic information you would provide there for your customers to see when deciding to choose your product, like other turbo sellers do. Has anyone got some of their own feedback and dyno results on that specific turbo? Was also looking at Kinugawa turbos that were a direct bolt on, and had heard good things about them, I dont think theyre as popular as they used to be, but has anyone had one recently theyve purchased and used? Any other recommendations with reasoning as to why they went with it?

Hey Guys, First time posting let me know if I've done something wrong. Does anyone on here have the HyperGear ATR43SS3 Ball Bearing Turbo fitted to their rb25? I'm looking for anyone that has had an rb engine tuned with this turbo. What is your turbo response like? max hp you have put through it? any vids? just need some info. I see alot of the SS2 but not much on the SS3. Thanks

So installed xspurt 1000cc top feeds with top feed rail from scotty, Hypergear ss2, int gated, Haltech platinum pro, return flow cooler Now when I had it tuned it made 281rwkw @17psi but full boost was somewhere at 5400 when I mentioned that it should on sooner the tuner had said there was something odd with the VCT when he was trying to set it, he thought it could have been a timing issue, so I had him check that(it was all fine) he then later contacted me and said it was the wastegate not set correctly, set it and then sorted the mid range, boost at 4400. Now everything I've seen about the ss2 can have full boost at around 3800rpm, so it now has me wondering if there could actually be an issue with the VCT itself.(if VCT can help boost come on) So have been searching on here about VCT and looks possible that my VCT is stuck as its giving me good top end but possibly poor low.... I disconnected the VCT and drove it and it feels the same, but I am unsure if it feels the same because it was faulty before hand and has been tuned around it... The plug itself needs replacing as it doesn't clip on, I used a multimeter at the plug, car on, positive on one pin and neg on chassis and then other pin and chassis and no change at multimeter. Did it hot and cold if that makes a diff. Have I done it right? I assumed the positive wire was constantly on and neg switches on/off , so at least one of the pins would be giving me voltage. I have to take the car back at some point to sort something else out but just want to see if there is anything I can do to ensure its working or not.

Going to get the current motor through this season to stay in my class and do a swap end of year, going from CA to SR, have already started dissembling the SR for a basic forged rebuild - this is not an all out no expense spared deal but "sensible" with some niceties . Dedicate track (grip) car so not after dyno queen performance. The goal is to have the headroom for 300-320rwkw on e85 and whatever it makes on 98. I realise this will mean a box swap as well. Car is highport/redtop so no VCT. Expecting bore to be 86 or 86.5mm. Plan was to base it off the Spool rebuild kit (CP pistons, not Ross) and add ARP main studs to that kit, plus new gaskets, hoses, fresh oem water/oil pump/timing kit/balancer, basic valve spring/cam upgrade and a mild port/cleanup etc etc. Things I'm unsure of. 8.5 or 9:1 compression? Higher = better spool for larger turbo, but more prone to knock or not an issue on e85 and just run less timing? How big to go with Cams, 256-264 range? Will stick with hydraulic lifters but will buy new ones and add rocker are stoppers, plus I don't bounce it off the limiter. Worth bothering with something like this intake manifold? Mazworks claim no lose of response with theirs, awaiting info on this cheaper version. https://otakugarage.com.au/product/otaku-garage-billet-intake-manifold-forward-facing-plenum-sr20det-s13-s14-s15-180sx-240sx/ Can either add wastegate port to stock manifold and give it a basic tidy up or hunt around for second hand 6boost etc if the cost is worth it. Can also ebay something like this - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Twin-Scroll-Turbo-Manifold-T3-SCHEDULE40-FOR-Silvia-240SX-S13-S14-S15-SR20DET/192490055785?hash=item2cd14d2869:g:0j0AAOSwnONZBEhW What turbo? Have looked at GTX3067, but I'm not convinced it will get to 300, it might with better intake manifold, gated, etc? Looked at GTX3071, EFR 6758/7163 (bonus of seemingly being able to make the power on IWG setup and does come in T25 config plus everyone ravs about the transient but very expensive. Kinugawa version GTX seems to be in the middle, new for 1400 or so, but then why not Hypergear etc? I ask here as Silvia forums is dead and asking on the Facebook groups is just painful having to deal with the morons.
