This is my first post in any thread help site, please inform me of any mistakes/procedures. I got a 2001 GH-NM35 Stagea with a VQ25DET engine, very cheap and driveable because of a blown noisy turbo and check engine light causing limpmode it seems. A few days after buying the car and getting a stock replacement Garrett turbo, and having it installed at my local shop, I was told the car had codes "P1110 & P1135 Intake valve timing control banks 1 & 2" The car mostly drives in higher gears, doesn't agree to rev over 2-3k rpm, I noticed some misfiring and slightly rough idling; and on another note I'm unsure if the loud jet-like spooling sound is normal. This is the first car I own that is forced induction, and isn't a 90's sports car, I'm 20 yrs old and the same mechanic shop said I'd need to do my engine timing to clear the codes and fix the car's limp-mode. With a oem kit+labour this would be well over $2000 AUD. I would normally and confirming do any repairs to my cars as I'm used to simpler builds. Before I proceed with it I'd like some advice in doing some troubleshooting on my own as well as anyone's repairs/knowledge regarding these codes and symptoms.

Hi guys, Do R33 spec 1 turbo (rb25det) coilpacks fit a spec 1 non turbo(rb25de)? I brought a non turbo R33 recently and it feels really sluggish, like it's in limpmode. My brothers got some spare coilpacks for his turbo R33 so was thinking of trying them out and see if they help... It's not missfiring and sounds super healthy but is hesitant for a few seconds on start up and cuts out sometimes unless I give it a quick rev. Once the car is started though, it drives smooth but it's really slow like it's in limpmode. There is hardly any power. I serviced it a few weeks back and it gained loads of power back. Replaced cone filter with stock airbox and a few days later it lost power again.
