DIY: Hicas ball joint removal & replacement / Gktech lock bar install. Job: Replace worn out hicas ball joints, without removing hubs. Fit hicas lock bar. Parts needed: Gktech lock bar 2x Hicas ball joints Tools needed: Jack, Jack stands, WD40, Grease, Impact wrench, Adjustable wrench, Socket set 10-30mm, Circlip pliers, Pliers, Ball joint press kit, 42mm O.D. x 37mm I.D. x 60mm Steel pipe, Pitman arm tool, Angle grinder, Breaker bar, Safety glasses, Hearing protection, Mask. Duration: 3-6hrs. Difficulty: Medium - Easy with the right tools. Step 1: Remove rear seat, remove battery earth and remove suspension. Then carefully jack up the car and use jack stands. Step 2. Spray wd-40 on the bolts, remove split pin and 17mm nut from ball joint/tie rod end. Step 3. Use pitman arm tool or suitable tool to remove tie rod end. Step 4. Crack the tie rods from the hicas unit under the rubber boot, unplug the hicas wiring. Step 5. Remove the 19mm bolts holding the hicas unit to the car and then remove the tie rods. Step 6. Install the tie rods into the gktech lock bar leaving the rubber boots loose. Set that aside for now. BALL JOINT REMOVAL. Step 7. Remove circlip from back of ball joint. Step 8.Cut the ball joint stud to allow more space to remove. Step 9.If you haven't removed suspension do it now.Use the ball joint press tool to press the joint out. Most kits don't come with a small enough size pipe to allow for extraction of the joint, so you will have to find a steel pipe of 42mm O.D. x 37mm I.D. x 60mm. Very common pipe size fits perfectly. Carefully align your press tool with the pipe on the hub. I used 5mm steel plate as a backing plate and then used the correct size socket to sit flush on the back of the ball joint. This will allow you to push the ball joint through the hub towards the rear. Step 10. With the ball joint removed, clean the ball joint housing with wd40 and a rag. Step 11.Apply grease to the joint and housing. Step 12.Use a 30mm socket or similar sized pipe that fits over the rubber boot and sits on the metal rim of the joint to press the new joint in. Align the press tool with the socket and ball joints rim and start to turn the press tool to insert the joint into the hub. Joint installed. Step 13.Reinstall the circlip to the back of the ball joint. Step 14.Cable tie the hicas wiring out of the way. Install the gktech lock bar. Tighten the 19mm bolts. Check the tie rods are tight, then secure the rubber boots. Step 15.Install the tie rod ends and replace the 17mm nut and split pin. Step 16.Reinstall suspension, rear seat and wheels.Remove hicas bulb on the cluster, or cut hicas warning light wire on hicas cu in boot.Get wheel alignment. All Done.

Good day, My Nissan Skyline V35 250 GT stop operating at 100% a month ago. I was driving accelerating then when i hit 60km/h it started to shake showing an inconsistency in power and then finally just stopped revving and could only idle. I disconnected the airflow sensor and could only rev it it to 2500 rpm. My mechanic suspected the pump and then we changed it and tried to connect the air flow sensor back, then it wouldn't even idle but switch off. What could be the problem because my next port of call is the fuel pressure sensors as advised by the mechanic? Good day, My Nissan Skyline keeps shaking when i reach 2500 rpm and when i

G'day guys, Unique Cars magazine is working on an upcoming issue centred around Japanese cars, and their increasing provenance and desirability in the secondhand market (RIP me who missed the boat on 20K BNR32's 5 or so years ago and has been looking for the right car for the past year). We're seeking an ADM R31 GTS (series 1/2 or 3 at this stage) to be involved in the magazine. Again, must be Australian delivered, and as close to stock as possible. If you or anyone you know happens to own one, and would like to get involved, please get in touch with me here so we can chat further Cheers, Alex, UCM

Hey guys, thinking about buying this car- https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-view-details.html?adId=1161205104 I need your thoughts on it, I have been surfing this forum and most of the v35 threads are 7 years old. So looking at the 2003 Nissan Skyline v35 do you think it is worth buying this vehicle. If so why? I need to know what is the petrol tank capacity, what octane fuel to put in and how long will the car last with urban driving on a single tank. Also I need to know if the car is expensive too maintain seeing that it is 14 years old. What i mean by this is that is it expensive to service, fix broken parts etc etc. I also need to know if it is worth selling my 2010 Subaru Impreza RS Hatch 5sp manual to buy this car?!?!?? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hi Guys, I am having an issue with my nissan skyline r33 gtst. I went to track days few times now and I get loss of power after first 5 laps. Power decreases significantly. At wakefield I can reach 175km/h on straight but after about 5 laps I can reach only 150. So thats 10-20% power loss. I assume this is because car is getting too hot. Mods r34 intercooler, 3'' exhaust turbo back, boost controller 10psi. fuel pump. -So far I have changed to use different oil from motul 8100xcess (10-40) to castrol edge 10-60. -I flushed the radiator and put better coolant. I have not flushed the coolant in engine, the damn release screw is ridiculous to get to and unscrew. -changed AFM, and fuel pump. so def not those and oh boy it drinks alot. Any recommendations??

Hey guys, not a massive project or overhaul but a build thread none the less, My names Kyle and from Melbourne, now 26 and owned an R32 GTS-T for 6 years when i turned 18 and for some stupid reason sold it. Drove K11 Micras around for 3 years and on Sunday i finally bought my dream car an R32 GT-R. Some people dream of Ferrari's and Lamborghini's but for me an R32 GT-R is the ultimate car in my eyes to own. Found it on carsales and fell in love, motor had already been built and it has already been resprayed, two of the biggest things that cost money and for the price it was well worth snapping it up so Sunday i flew up to Sydney and fell in love for the second time (I'm married lol). Drove it back and am well impressed, body feels tight and had no issues on the way back. Here's spec list from the sale thread, am yet to have anything verified by anyone I only got it Sunday so... Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 112XXX on the body allegedly however I've got the import papers from when it was imported in 2006 and it was imported with 112,200km's on it so somehow the odometer has gone backwards (yes sarcasm intended). 8,500km's on the motor since rebuild. BODY: Full respray in GT-R Spark Silver Metallic KL0 Front lip resprayed, plastic in ducts removed Guard indicators deleted N1 front bar ducts Carbon rear boot lip Front number plate side mounted Aftermarket headlights inside has been painted black Aftermarket clear front indicators. Plastic weather strips HID headlights N1 GT-R skirts INTERIOR: Stock front and rear seats MOMO sports steering wheel No name brand shifter Shadow Racing gauges Clarion head unit Tinted windows ENGINE: Claimed 220awkw standard boost forged rebuild, was built at Unique Autosports, I'm going to email them see if they have all the details on the build, i have receipts for: ACL pistons Gates timing belt N1 oil pump Nitto extended crank collar Also came with: R34 GT-R engine covers painted gold Clear cam gear cover Apexi NUR catback Aftermarket downpipes Factory airbox and BOVs NDC race bearings Machined head. R33 GT-R turbos Trust FMIC 50mm stainless radiator Exedy HD clutch IMPUL ECU SUSPENSION/WHEELS: G4 coilovers Adjustable camber arms Neotech castor arms 18x9.5 Enkei RPF1's with 225/35 Federal SS595's Its an awesome car to drive, pulls like a champ although has 4th gear syncro issues so can be a pain to get in sometimes, my plans for it are: Remove MOMO wheel and replace with standard, much prefer the standard over any sports wheel. Remove shadow gauges and install either Apexi or Defi water temp and boost. Find new dash and replace. Replace gear boot and handbrake boot. Replace stereo fascia as it is cracked. Either get some fatter tyres for the wheels or buy new wheels and sell Enkei's. I wasn't super keen on the Enkei's to begin with and the size tyre on it is just stupid, it aint no drifter! Get a boost controller and put some more boost through it, may start looking to build a decent motor down the track. Install Trust DD exhaust instead of Apexi one. Remove carbon lip and install body coloured fibreglass one. Install factory weather shields. Install early model headlights (square type) Remove rear NISMO badge (don't even think there's a NISMO item on the car) Install stock floor mats I'm sure the list will get longer and longer but for now I'm just going to enjoy the shit out of it until November when the reg is up then decide whether to garage it and club/historic reg or keep it full. I plan on keeping this car for a very long time. Cheers CC's welcome! Kyle

Hi guys, just bought this amazing car after selling my s15. Its a sedan skyline with full full nismo bodykit and performance parts. Hks 28/35 turbo Hks ecu pro version 2.1 Hks fmic Nismo injectors Apexi electronic boost controller Nismo 5 speed gearbox Nismo Heavy duty clutch Nismo 300km speedo Greddy inlet manifold Oil catch can and cooler Nismo rims Bigger fuel pump 250kw at the wheel with 1bar. The problem is that the car was tuned by the previous owner on 2 bars. When I bought the car. The car was set and runing at .75 bar and was running was rich, black smoke. The car got no afm as well and the owner is not sure what the previous tuner has done. May runing on map sensors. I then increase the boost to 1.10 bar, the car run a bit better than before but still run a rich. (By increasing the boost, doesnt blow that much black smoke) I found some petrol leak beside the injectors as well. Not sure about that. Need to get a good tuner who work on hks ecu and someone to fix that injectors leak which I think its the orings. If anyone know a good tuning place please let me know.

I bought this car way back in April 2003, it had only 34000kms on the clock. For the last 11 years its has been my pride and joy, well looked after, always garaged, oil change promptly every 5000kms with only Penrite products, currently running 15w-50 full synthetic engine oil. Has only ever been run on 98 octane fuel with NGK plugs, currently BKR6E-11 gapped 0.8mm. At 100000kms it had its appropriate service with Gates timing belt fitted. Never had any problems with the vehicle, has always run great! Apart from aftermarket modifications, the suspension bushes have been replaced, new steering arms and tie rod ends, new starter motor, new genuine nissan radiator fitted in the last 18 months. Dynotuned 14 months ago at Federation motors in Cairns and makes over 400hp at the wheels comfortably at 18psi of boost, 98 octane fuel. This car has been great to drive, never been in any accidents, holds many memories, will be sad to see it go. I believe my car represents great value at $10,000. Here is a list of modifications done to the vehicle, most carried out in the last 2 years, like turbo, airflow meter, injectors, fuel pump, coil packs and clutch... NISSAN SKYLINE R33 GTS-T series 1 RB25det - Garrett GT 3076 turbo (low mount) - Apexi Power FC with hand controller - Apexi AVC-R boost controller - Apexi turbo timer - Nismo 740cc injectors - Z32 Air Flow Meter - Exedy twin plate clutch (14 months old) - Walbro intake fuel pump 255l/hr 500hp rated - Tomei Poncam intake and exhaust 256 degree 8.5mm lift (not fitted) - Splitfire coil-packs - 3A Racing air intake (new) - High flow 3' Jasma exhaust turbo back - Hybrid front mount intercooler with engine fan crossover style alloy piping - Remote oil filter installation, with oil cooler - Oil catch can - Tanabe Sustec racing adjustable coil-overs - HKS blow off valve - Autometer boost gauge - Gizmo 2 stage shift light - Rockford Fosgate cd player, with amp running a pair of Blaupunkt Overdrive 6.5' splits (front) and Rockford Fosgate Power 6x9's (rear) - 18' Voltec Inter Milano wheels - 235/40 front, 265/35 rear Federal 595 tyres - Nismo GTR front bar, side skirts and Nismo rear lip - HID driving lights Please no time wasters, no swaps, genuine enquires only.

Series 2 R34 steering wheel. Hi all, Recently picked up a black series 2 R34, and it came with a steering wheel which didn't have the two tone trim (see image). The other thing I noticed it doesn't have, is any stitching along the inside of the wheel. Is it possible the two tone trim has just been removed or has this wheel come from elsewhere (and the series 2 airbag module has been kept)? The gaps between the airbag module are uneven, so my assumption was it had been swapped, but interested to see what others think.

Ac belt tensioner question Hey guys in the process of repairing the ac on my gts4 and need to get a replacement ac belt tensioner. I searched the part number online and found that it is the same as the Infiniti j30 and the z32 300zx. My question is does anyone know for sure if they are in fact interchangeable? Want to verify before I order one if possible. 11925-42L06 is the Nissan part number.

Pre-purchase vehicle inspections - recommendations? Hey guys, can anyone recommend any trustworthy workshops that can perform a used-vehicle mechanical inspection- compression testing etc. Skyline expertise much preferred! Would also be interested in anyone that can do paint depth checks to determine any accident history. Looking at BNR32s and wanting to be very thorough before purchasing as i've been watching the prices skyrocket over the past six years since I've last been on here. We all know an honest one is getting harder and harder to find Appreciate the help guys!

nsw/act 1999 R34 Skyline Sedan
DriftingSkylines posted a topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
1999 R34 Skyline Sedan Selling my beloved 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 Sedan. Anyone who knows me will know how much I love this car and how much it breaks my heart to let it go but unfortunately I can no longer keep it. 1999 R34 sedan Two keys (main and factory spare) Factory midnight blue (rare) and factory manual 159,000 kms (I've owned it since 114,000 kms and have records and receipts for every bit of work + service completed) - Has always been filled up with 98 ~~major service completed at 114,000 kms~~ RB25 Neo (naturally aspirated) Last service was in Feb 2017 Rego until December 2017 Have reverted it back to stock / the way I purchased it in 2013: - Stock tyres (85/90% tread on front, 40/45% tread on rears) - Stock exhaust - Stock suspension - Stock taillights - Stock front seats - Stock horn - Factory privacy glass on rear windows Has gtt callipers with dimpled and slotted discs all round Rare factory mud guards on the rear Carbon fibre eyelids Aftermarket head unit with sub woofer (sub currently not working) Fully functioning air-conditioning, heater and window de-misters Electric windows and mirrors Spare tyre and Jack still located in boot Cons: - Front and rear bumpers in rough condition (planned on changing them so their current condition never bothered me) - Few surface rust spots + a few small dents (never bothered me as I was planning on respraying the car once I completed body work) - Silver boot lid (again never bothered me due to future respray plans) - Two small chips in windscreen (was fixed by O'brien but appears to have reopened; still passes pink slip for rego) - small hole in driver seat - rear passenger side window switch doesn't work; can only be operated by main switch on drivers side - sub woofer not working as mentioned before (I'm not good with electrics and it hasn't been bothering me that it hasn't been working, plus lately I simply have not had time to look at it) - Few little scuffs here and there but pretty good condition overall inside and out for an 18 year old car This car has never missed a beat for the 3 and half years I've owned it - been one of the most reliable cars our family has ever seen. It is in great condition for its age and the price takes into fact the few faults and touch ups needed to make it like new. It honestly is very hard to see it go but I can no longer afford to keep it and know it will bring someone else mountains of joy and happiness. The price is $11,390 negotiable - I am happy to negotiate the price after inspection ~~no swaps~~ If you don't like the price or don't like the car keep it to yourself - don't waste my time or yours. Any questions regarding the car or wanting to set up an inspection feel free to contact me. (as I am not always on here feel free to text me on 0431547420) Located Lower North Shore Sydney -

Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone on here as changed their rear standard rotors from 265mm to 296mm? My 34 has r33 calipers adjusted to the 265mm rotors. Im wondering what i need to completely upgrade to the 296mm rotors as its cheaper than having the standard setup. Also will braking have issues as I have 280mm rotors on the front and then when i upgrade, the rear will be bigger? What are you running?
