This is my first post in any thread help site, please inform me of any mistakes/procedures. I got a 2001 GH-NM35 Stagea with a VQ25DET engine, very cheap and driveable because of a blown noisy turbo and check engine light causing limpmode it seems. A few days after buying the car and getting a stock replacement Garrett turbo, and having it installed at my local shop, I was told the car had codes "P1110 & P1135 Intake valve timing control banks 1 & 2" The car mostly drives in higher gears, doesn't agree to rev over 2-3k rpm, I noticed some misfiring and slightly rough idling; and on another note I'm unsure if the loud jet-like spooling sound is normal. This is the first car I own that is forced induction, and isn't a 90's sports car, I'm 20 yrs old and the same mechanic shop said I'd need to do my engine timing to clear the codes and fix the car's limp-mode. With a oem kit+labour this would be well over $2000 AUD. I would normally and confirming do any repairs to my cars as I'm used to simpler builds. Before I proceed with it I'd like some advice in doing some troubleshooting on my own as well as anyone's repairs/knowledge regarding these codes and symptoms.

I've had idle issues and noticed that the fuel trims max out (ST +25%, LT+10%) at idle, but look normal at other times. My guess is that i've caused an air leak when I installed Scottys cooling mod, which requires the manifold removal. I did pull the injectors out, so there could be a leak in a bottom seal or two, and i reused the gaskets (which all looked good). Do you guys re-use the gaskets? Anyone know the bottom oring part numbers or the dimensions so i can get non-genuine ones?

Where do you access the filter/pump assembly from?

Hi All, I've ordered an NM35 from Japan! I live in Perth but do regular windsurfing trips to Exmouth (~1200km) and Geraldton (~400km) and wanted something more spacious and interesting than my Forester. Because of sport and the family business I've always needed bigger cars and never owned anything that inspired me to work on it, until I heard about the Stagea. After trawling the forums here I decided to bite the bullet and ordered one a couple of weeks ago. It's still ~8 weeks away but I've already got a list of upgrades I want to make to it. I've got a reasonable idea of what upgrades I want but would really like to get some feedback and hear the experiences of others. Is there a particular part of the Wagoneers forum I should post in? Cheers, Mitch

Hi all, I just bought a NM35, thought I'd sign up to the forums and say hi. Can't say I know much about Stageas yet, but she seems pretty mint so far. Got a bit of a knock in one shock, a leaking rocker cover and shudders a fair bit when braking hard, but hopefully that's all easy fixes. Booked in to MRC for a good check over. The guy that imported it reckons it's had no mods since it arrived, it's got Impul wheels, pedals and stickers, I think the front bar is the Impul kit??? Anyone know how to find out if thr ECU is stock or Impul? (other than a Max speed test!) Anyway, here's a couple pics.

G'day guys, me again with the non running vq25det stagea, starting to nail down on components trying to diagnose my issue and noticed something while removing and cleaning my crank sensor i noticed metal fragments on the magnetic part of the sensor, so i cleaned then off, refitted the sensor and tried to give it a strart, and i noticed for the first time in a while it fired and tried to start on the first try, but on the second and third there was no fire, so i took out the sensor again, cleaned it again and same thing, fired first try, still no start, but on second and thirrd try its again not firing so my question is, could my sensor be faulty? what else could be causing this?

I bought this car approximately 1.5 years ago, and I planned to keep it for quite a while thanks to the low kms at the time of purchase (approximately 55,000). However, personal circumstances have changed and now I need to sell it. In no particular order, here are the major features: Front and rear power sunroof, with lockout switch for rear sunroof. Factory radar cruiser control. After market alarm and immobiliser (installed during compliance). 4WD, 4 Wheel Steering (HICAS) and LSD. 5-Speed Automatic with manual control. I obtained a suitable paddle-shifter from a V35 Nissan Skyline 350GT-8, but I never got around to installing it (happy to throw this in at no extra charge). Factory Japanese DVD Navigation System with factory screen (menus are untranslated). RCA inputs for audio/video playback. Factory head unit, with cassette tape/CD/Mini-Disc playback support (Mini-Disc Changer is in the centre storage bin). Factory reverse camera. Driver and Passenger electronic/heated seats, with manually adjustable lumbar support on driver seat. Full factory leather interior, with matching leather trim. Front and rear factory carpets, including factory boot carpet. Factory tyre-jack set/spare wheel. Factory cargo net. Factory cargo cover. Factory rear seat-belt for middle passenger, and rear child-proof seat-belt clasp. Driver/passenger front and side airbags, curtain airbags for 2nd row Front and rear fog lights. Height adjustable faxtory Xenon headlights. Completely mechanically stock, with no alterations or non-factory modifications other than a new battery (less than 1 year ago). Brake cut-off mod completed recently, with switch installed in back of glove-box. All original manuals and paperwork included, and even some detailed service receipts while it was still in Japan. Very comfortable and easy to drive, reassuringly solid in wet weather, and just cool in general. Has not been thrashed and has always been fed with V-Power petrol. Overall condition of the car is seriously very very good, especially considering its age. Original Japanese de-registration papers, and copies from an online registration check, are also included. Kilometres have been proven. Registration expiring April 2018. Biggest problem would be the condition of the drivers seat. There are no tears or rips of any kind, but the colour (and a bit of the leather feel) has faded from the left hand side of the seat. I also have the paddle-shifters from a V35 GT-8, and some braces that have not been installed yet. Willing to throw them into the deal as well. Asking price: $13,500 (ONO) KM's: 64,000 VIN: U90000NM35302391 Model Code: VLGPRXNM35UDA-AA-C http://gtr-registry.com/en-nm35-vin-table.php Contact Name: George Contact Number: 0412 443 996 Email: [email protected] Price is negotiable, and I need this gone, so please make me a reasonable offer! Car is also on Carsales and Gumtree.

The dream is dead. I wanted to do so much with this car, but we're moving to a single income soon, and need something more family friendly, and less harsh on the hip pocket. Things to be aware of: Located in Northern suburbs of Victoria. Everything is pretty stock standard, apart from the radio, which is bluetooth and aux compatible. Recently replaced crank angle sensors, and have a spare in the back too. I know it needs rear pads and rotors, but otherwise mechanically sound, will have had a minor service by the time you inquire. Has done 201,000 k's. A bit of paint fading on the right hand mirror shell. Rego expires in February. Asking price is $7,500 but feel free to make me an offer (nothing ridiculous, please) Feel free to ask me anything about the car, and I'll do my best to answer. Also, sorry for crap photos, too many cars to move around, and it was too damn hot that day.

Hi all, has anyone experienced fuel gauge issues below a quarter of a tank? Mine fluctuates wildly but seems to right itself after a bit of driving/sloshing but can drop as low as an 8th and turn the light on but then come back up to a quarter. Annoyingly the DTE under the 'boost leaf' must get its readings from the same sensor as that fluctuates too. Does this model still have a conventional float level sensor? Could it just be dirty contacts?

Looking at grabbing a LSD from a 6 speed V35. Having trouble finding information confirming that it's a direct fit to the 3.5 RWD Stagea. Different forums mention things about splines not lining up and ratios being different... I am aware the LSD's from ARX etc will fit easy, but I have the opportunity to get a cheap V35 diff. Thanks!

Morning chaps. Yesterday, I took delivery of my new 2002 Nissan Stagea Axis Autech model from Northshore Prestige. Having recently sold my R34 Skyline due to not being able to fit film gear in the Liner, I went on the search for a new car. I was looking for something cool, auto, with a bit of power, upgradeability, comfort and most of all, space to fit all the things. After having driven a few different cards (VE Wagon, Legnum, etc) I went and saw Ben from Northshore Prestige, and took the car for a drive. It basically ticked all the boxes, and I left a deposit on it that day. Its done 104ks. After having the car for 1 day, my initial thoughts are as follows. 1) The suspension/body roll is horrible. I will definitely be investing in some swaybars to stiffen the body roll up a little bit. 2) The seating position is rather high. I would ideally like to put some lower seats in, but its not a HUGE issue. 3) The auto gearbox is one of the most sluggish POS's that I have ever experienced. This is something that will definitely get attended too. 4) The car feels very restricted. I would imagine freeing up the intake and exhaust will make it breath much better. Other then that, I'm really happy with it. It talks to me in Japanese everytime I turn the car on as well, which was pretty unexpected at first. I'd like to get a new dash facia so that I can fit an aftermarket head unit with bluetooth and ipod connectivity as well. Can anyone tell me what wheels these are? They seem to be factory Nissan 18"s. Pics: (I will get some better ones this weekend, these are the dealer photos) Cheers, Shaz

Hi Guys and Gals, I am regrettably selling my 2001 Nissan M35 ARX-Four Stagea. I have owned this car since 2008, and imported the car from Japan myself. In this time its been nothing but reliable and a joy to own. The car has done 121,000km For those of you who don't know about the features of the M35 ARX-Four - The car has awesome power from the 2.5L V6 Turbo, and the ATTESA ET-S all wheel drive and rear wheel steering is fantastic through the corners and great off road as well. Inside, the car has full leather, auto headlights, heated and electric front seats, six stacker CD, climate control, rear view mirrors that dip when in reverse and fold shut when the car is locked. The rear seats fold fully flat from handles within the boot and creates a huge luggage bay. The car has done many country trips, and this is one of the areas the car excels. Its very comfortable on long distances and the powerful engine makes overtaking an ease. Storage is also impressive with a huge boot along with further storage in pockets and beneath the boot floor. Normally the ARX has black arches and guards, but I have had mine painted the body colour which in my opinion looks a lot better. The radio does not work as standard with Aus frequencies, but I have installed a frequency modifier which receives all the stations. Also included with this car are roof racks. There were no off the shelf roof rack kits that fit the NM35, so I have modified the brackets to take an X-Trail rack foot bolt pattern. These racks are easily removable in a few minutes. *The bike carriers shown in some photos are not included*. The car has recently had a full service, with all drive belts replaced, engine oil and filter, transmission oils and all diff oils, spark plugs, air filter and fuel filter. There is no timing belt to change in this car as it uses a timing chain. Also replaced recently are the brake pads and a full brake bleed. During my ownership I have also put on new front slotted rotors. The car has 245/50 R18 Khumo Ecsta KU31 tyres with 60% life left. I am asking $13,990 for it, but I am negotiable so feel free to make me a reasonable offer! Thanks, Brendan

Hi Guys, This is my first post here but have been reading for a while, so hi all . I'm currently looking at a stagea with a broken electric seat (I understand this is a pretty common issue). It's a 2002 NM35 Autech Axis with the heated leather electric seats, I just wanted to get some opinions as to common issues/fixes for this problem. All other functions appear to work except for the back and forth motion (the only one you really NEED haha, typical). Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks in advance!

Idiot Pom Needs Help! Hi All, I now own an 2003 NM35 AR-X with a VQ25DET engine which I brought in October16... and I live in England. Getting help and spares is a bitch, so I need some help from you, Ladies and Gentlemen. Now I have brought my spark plugs NGK LFR7AIX are they the right ones, YES or NO? What numbers are the Air Con Active Carbon Filters and who makes them? What number is the pollen filter and who makes it? On Filters I would like to use K&N Filters if possible. I have a factory fitted Sat Nav fitted with TV etc. How hard is it to remove the whole system and replace it because the main unit in the grove box is shot? Are there any panels to replace the bits I would like to remove, like the controls, etc.? Thanks for all the help, people.

How to launch/burn out in NM35 Stagea? As per thread title and also want to keep the wagon forum alive ...... Might sounds d*mb but how do you launch/stall or do a burnt out in the Stagea? I drive manual cars since the day i got my license .... some 20 years ago ... god damn it i'm old :(. Do you put in manual mode, 1st gear then launch? Same apply to burnt out? Gotta replace the 2 rear tyres soon so might as well have some fun first, in a controlled environment offcourse. Car has brake cut mod, hi-flow Cheers

NM35 VQ25DET Camshaft Rattle Post Senor Replacement Hi All Just replaced the 2 camshaft position sensors on my old mans NM35 Stage (VQ25DET) and now the car is getting a rattle at circa 2000RPM from what appears to be the camshafts. I have read that this can be caused by using oil that is too thin, or the spring return within the variable cam timing assembly failing. Prior to going down the path of the variable cam timing assembly, we will be trying an oil change but was also curious if maybe the replacement of the camshaft sensors requires a camshaft re-learn procedure and is there anyway to do this without a Consult 3? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
