So this is more of a curiosity than anything else, but i figured id ask. We all know cars are tuned rich from the factory, for safety, my question is, can you increase boost safely without tuning the car? Common sense would suggest no, but is it possible? Has anyone done this? Ive got a 92 GTSt with an RB20 and considering the lack of tuneability with the stock ECU (originally came from the world of open source tuning subarus), can you dial in 1 or 2 psi safely without actually going to a NIStune or standalone and not compromise AFR pr ultimately your engine? Hopefully someone has some answer cause here in the states i mostly get a blank stare and "dunno".

I have scoured SAU and the web and I did not find a answer to this. I have series 2 AWD auto stag, which is completely stock except for a manual boost controller which I have just put in. I know I will have a restrictive exhaust system (it is our family wagon, and I like how quiet it is), and I wont get much more power out of it, but it gets up to full boost and power noticeably faster now, and that's all I was after. Handy at the lights ;-) and for overtaking. Off the mark till about 40km per hour, it was slower than the Manual Subaru Outback that I used to have! Anyhow I am currently running 9psi. Can I go to 10 or should I be running less? Is back pressure going to hurt anything? Any advice will be muchly appreciated!

Hey I have just bought an autometer pro comp boost gauge and it only goes to 20 psi. . I am installing a pair of hks gtss turbos on my car, just wondering will I be boosting my car over 20 psi? It has stock internal but all the other go fast bits and is on e85 sitting at 270rwkw -
Rb20det low difference in compression test Hi guys did compression test on my stock rb20det r32 and came back with 1.150 2.150 3.120 4.150 5.150 6.150 are these okay results? Or am I looking at a rebuild soon? 32 has turbosmart boost T running 16psi only had on for a week but considering going back to stock boost and not using boost T. Car feels great to drive and made 155kw atw on 14psi and 430nmt

Hello guys I need help identifying what this hose i circled red is called and what does it do, reason i ask is that this morning i drove my GTT on the highway and i instantly noticed a lost in power, my boost gauge shows my max boost today was only 4 PSI as before i ran 10 PSI all the time, i presume this hose is the culprit as it is teared a little bit a while ago to which i wrapped it around in that yellow sticky tape and clamped it together.

Hey everyone I just bought a R33 GTST Series II and it doesn't have a boost controller but it has an ECU. Exactly how can I find out what PSI it's running at? Additionally is there anything I need to be cautious of for example, possible dodgy mods or something breaking? - as it is my first turbocharged car. Thanks!!
