Hey, This is my first post here and i was just wondering about this performance chip i found it seemed alot cheaper than having a new ECU put in and Tuned & with it being so much cheaper i have started to wonder if its legitimate or if its just a giant scam (leaning more towards scam) I was just wondering if any of you had any experience with this company or similar products and if so with the similar products would you recommend them? https://havokengineering.com/products/havok-engineering-r33-rb25det-ecu-upgrade-chip-for-the-r33-ecu edit: I drive a Japanese Import R33 GTS-T (Not sure if it makes a difference)
  2. Hey guys, im new to skyline Australia and i would like some help. My skyline r33 is losing power when i flat foot and the rpm reaches 5000rpm or so. Recently the problem has seem to evolve and make the car die out past 5000 rpm and what i mean is, the car is still on but there is no power what so ever past 5000. I've had this problem before except the dying out part and i fixed it with AFM. I have bought 2 AFM's and put them in the car and reset the ecu, however the problem is still there but the car dying out problem seem to be gone. Does anyone have any advice on what i can check next please. Im a student so i dont wanna go out and spend more money for nothing. My car only has a few mods: (STOCK ECU + BOOST-no boost controller) 1.Spitfire coils packs 2.FMIC 3.After market fuel pump KEMSO 340LPH 4.Exhaust system turbo back 5. Iridium sparkplugs that i replaced about 6-8months ago. (Have not touched the gaping) Tomorrow i will check the coils and spark plugs, but is there anything else i can check? Ive also checked previously for air leaks but found nothing. Can timing belt be an issue? and o2 Sensor? Thanks! Rany
  3. hey everyone, long time reader first time poster. before i start ill just let you know I'm no mechanic or car wiz! trying to learn though so i bought my first car (1993 r33 gts) when i was 17 and it is still my current car to this day being the third owner since imported. as the laws in my state don't allow high powered vehicles on P plates i opted for the NA version as I've always loved skylines and i found one for a good deal. over these 4 years I've done a fair bit of work to the car because i wanted it to be the best version of itself, the main things being brand new turbo gearbox with short shifter, heavy duty clutch, full body kit, new wheels, bc racing coilovers, moulded fenders, interior work and much more, fair to say this car is in way better shape now than when i bought it. i spent a while trying to make this car easy to swap a new engine into when I'm on my full license but I've read forums saying "no point" or "just sell it and buy a turbo its not worth the effort" so i guess my question is do you guys think it can be a reliable enough swap that's worth doing if done right or just f**k it off and buy a new car? ps. every time people look up my rego at car stores, mechanics etc. it comes back as a gtst so i think it was possibly imported as a gtst and has been swapped out prior to me owning it, as I've been told i also have all the gtst badges on my car.

  5. Hey everyone Thanks for letting me join SAU I've been using a lot of the info I've read on hear via forums in regards to my R33 Coupe build and it has helped sooooo much. I'm not sure who the people are I've used there info from but i wouldn't have gotten this far with my build if it wasn't for everyone's input on these forums so thanks to you if your reading this =) I know the main admin has always passed on some very useful information also which one again has helped. I'm in New Zealand Christchurch and basically need all the help with this build that i can. I've owned a few skylines in my time but I've allways wanted a R33 Coupe don't ask me why as everyone just calls them a BOAT but that was my dream car and i got it as a complete wreak of a thing that i should of walked away from but i brought it back from the dead as it was a drift car that was on its way out.   6. Hi all, I have for sale a custom 52mm gauge holder suit for R33 Skyline. This is used but in excellent condition. This is made of fibreglass and is grey in colour (same colour as interior). Gauge is to be mounted as the base of the A-Pillar and dash (I used double sided tape). Reason for sale is due to now using a cup holder and mounting to the A-Pillar. Price: $40 + Postage. If your after a neat gauge set up on the dash and do not want to drill holes in your dash or A-Pillar, then this is for you. Make me an offer.

Look no futher! - Non turbo - 124,280 km - Manual - Mags - Spoiler/Body kit - Original interior in vgc - Silver -Air bags deployed -Front bumper/Bonnet/Radiator damaged. Went into a tree causing front end damage as you can see in the photos. Planned to repair but have decided to buy another car - very sad as the R33 was my pride and joy. PM me and make an offer.

  10. Adaptador for Turbo?? R33gtst Hi guys!! I have a problem"! I want to ride soon turbo, especially and closed a ball bearing gtx3076r. But the problem is that I've seen with the exhaust manifold values, soldering the discharge valve and there too. Do I have to put a 20mm adaptation separator from the original manifold to the turbo? Help, I do not know what to do ?? .. any ideas for this?
  11. Hi, was looking for some advice/opinions. Ive researched and had a read up on oil coolers and LSD for my car. Car is R33 GTS-t S2 soon to be around 300rwkw. Driven maybe twice a month and a few track days per year. Oil cooler - I see a few guys had done their own and cost $3-400. (quite like the article http://www.trak-life.com/diy-r33-skyline-oil-cooler-with-thermostat/) I was looking at the Trust / Greddy 13 row oil cooler kit at $586 from RHD. http://www.rhdjapan.com/trust-greddy-standard-oil-cooler-kit-ecr33-rb25det.html or possibly the 19 row Mishimoto universal oil cooler http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/products/Mishimoto-19-Row-Universal-Oil-Cooler-kit-Black.html. Any problems in hooking up a oil temp and oil pressure gauge up to the sandwich plate ? Both have a thermostat ?   12. Replacing Manifold Studs Hey guys, I really have no idea how to start as I am pretty new to the whole world of fixing/replacing parts for my car. At the moment I am at the point of doing my manifold as they have no studs what so ever so I got 12 new ones and really do not know how to get to it or what to do to fix it and I would love to do it by myself. If there is a DIY tutorial anywhere here can someone link me or if not, just guide me as what to do, will want to start it this weekend and I will post pictures. So far I know i have to take off the J piping and the turbo, but still pretty unsure. Any help is highly appreciated.
  13. RB30/26 Into 1996 S2 R33 Gtst Gidday Peoples. I've been a manner here for a while and never really said anything. But now I shall change that. I own a 1996 R33 Rb25det Powered Gtst with 444.4 RWHP @ 19.5 PSI. But I have excessive soil vapour coming out if my Tappet cover breathers and now out my exhaust pipe. I have recently purchased a RB26/30 THAT only had a mild tune and 400 RWHP. And I want to put it into my r33. I know I will have to fabricate my own engine mounts and that 999.9% of the sensors will work from the factory r33 harness. I need to know if there is any little traps that fought people out when they attempted this conversion. What am I missing. I have spent about 4 or so weeks researching this and frankly there isn't much about it at all anywhere. There is heaps on doing the build of a rb26-26/30 But bugger all about putting it into a car.
